Author's Note:
This is a story that comes from a fanfic that my friend and I have been writing for a while. I thank Jessica for the co-creation of Sara Potter. This is for Andrew.

She stood in the Astronomy Tower, singing softly to herself. She came up here when she was feeling down, or when she simply needed time to think. Lately, that had been quite often. Her boyfriend of two and a half years had left her for that pug-faced Pansy Parkinson. She had accepted the defeat graciously, and had not started a fight or caused too much commotion. She loved Draco more than anyone could imagine, which is why she let him go. If he wasn't happy, then neither was she, and she wanted nothing but for him to be happy. She began to sing softly under her breath, and didn't notice his appearance.

He stood there, stunned by the beauty of her voice. Entranced by her elegant song, he acted as though he were watching many gorgeous Veela. When he came out of what would have seemed a trance by anyone else, he cleared his throat. At this she, very startled, turned on her heel and gave what almost was a squeak.

"Draco," she began, "How long have you been standing there?"

"Long enough," he said walking towards her.

"Don't," she said as he moved to put his hand on her cheek.

He looked bewildered, and put his hand down.

"Sara," he tried, "I'm sorry."

She looked up at him with tear filled, bright green eyes and peered at him through her circular glasses, as a long black strand of hair fell in front of her face. "Is that all?" she asked weakly.

"I love you, I'm sorry, and I was stupid," Draco pleaded, "Please, give me another chance."

After a few moments of careful consideration, she flung herself onto Draco, wrapped her arms around his neck and cried into him. Her glasses pressed at the bridge of her nose, but this was of no concern at the moment. All that mattered was that they were back together and that he loved her.

After weeks of curious speculating, Draco finally approached Sara about her beautiful voice. "Sara," he started, waveringly, "How come you've never sung for me? Your voice is so beautiful."

She stared at him over her potions homework. "Wh-What do you mean?" she asked in a hushed voice.

"Your, your voice," he began, "That night, at the Astronomy Tower... You were singing. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard..."

She sat there in the high-backed, black leather chair, staring, surprised at him. She had never sung in front of anyone before. Not her adoptive parents or siblings. Not Jessica, and especially not Draco. When he happened to walk in on her up there, she was singing a tearful Muggle song she knew from the summers she spent at home. The lyrics were some of the saddest known to her, and she wondered how he could possibly consider this beauty.

"I just..." she started.

"Never mind, Sara," he said, putting his hand over hers, "I can see that it upsets you, I won't bring it up again." He finished and returned to his Transfiguration homework.

Dear Draco,

Meet me at the Astronomy Tower at midnight.

Your love,
Sara

He received this note not by owl post, but by her own hand. He assumed that she had come into his room and placed it under his pillow when he and Goyle were out looking for Crabbe, who had been missing since dinner.

He waited impatiently for midnight to come around. He could not concentrate on his homework; so, giving up, he placed it back in his bag and returned to his dormitory. He put on his best Muggle clothes. He sometimes preferred these, because they accentuated so many of his perfect features, instead of hiding them under large robes.

It was finally midnight, and he was climbing the last step to the Tower when he heard her beautiful voice singing a happy melody.

He said nothing to her for at least an hour. Letting her voice move over him like a silk sheet. When she tired of singing, they laid there, in each other's arms, never wanting to return to the common room.

The met each Friday night, at midnight, and every time she would sing, until she grew tired, and then, they would hold each other, and return hand-in hand to the common room. They knew if they were caught there would be many consequences of being out of bed past midnight, with one another. But the risk only intrigued them. They were Slytherins after all.

It was their 3 year anniversary, or what was supposed to be. It was also Draco's last year at Hogwarts but Sara still had one more year left. It was also a week until the anniversary of the first time he was enchanted by her song.

He thought he would do something special for her, so he found a song; one so beautiful and romantic, that you would never think that it was a masculine song. He rehearsed day and night, until finally it was Friday night again. He waited until Sara went to her dorm, where she waited until it was 11:30 to meet him, before he left.

He got to the Tower thirty minutes early. When she arrived she was shocked to find him there.

"Why are you so early?" She questioned, as he put a finger to her lip.

"I have a surprise for you," he said clearing his through lightly.

When he opened his mouth again, he sung so perfectly, that it seemed as though he had done nothing but sing for his whole life. Sara knew this was not true, but she couldn't help thinking it. He sung masterfully until the end of the song, where he took her hand and went down on one knee.

"Sara Potter," he began, "I love you. When you graduate Hogwarts, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" As he said the last words, he opened a little box. Inside was the most beautiful ring she had ever seen. It was white gold and what seemed to be peridot, but the peridot gleamed so brightly and shined as if it were in direct sunlight, she could only assume it was a gem that only wizards knew about.

She looked at him in his gray-blue eyes and saw a single tear in them. And as that tear rolled down his cheek, she kissed him so perfectly, so soft, and so passionately all at the same time.

They laid there for hours, not saying a thing, just happy to be together, knowing that they would always have each other.

They were there until after sunrise, and they stayed there until late afternoon. As the sun rose, they talked of life, school, brooms, Quidditch, children, and many more things.

He kissed her on the forehead as she said, "Everything is perfect now."

Author notes: It's short. I'm pleased with it nonetheless. Please review. It's the first finished work I've had time to do in a very long time
