Lillian Evans (aka Lily) is a muggle born, a witch with no magical parents, and was ever so surprised to see a letter pushed into her mail slot with a Hogwarts crest on her eleventh birthday, August 12. The lively, carefree little girl was adored by all her family members, but even more when they found out she was a witch! But one person wasn't at all impressed to have a witch in the family. Yes, the stuck upped, horse-face sister of Lillian Evans, Petunia, was anything but impressed. Who would have thought that this once very close relationship of sisterhood would fall to pieces from one of the seven deadly sins, Envy?
First day at Hogwarts Witchcraft and Wizardry, the bright red headed girl with brilliant green eyes met a girl named Alive Johnson and till this very day they have been the best of friends.
Developed over the years, Lily's bright red hair faded darker; curse the young with perfect light and thin hair! But the auburn color made her look older and (dare she say it?) sexier, complimenting her bright green eyes. Those at first glance would think she was a "goody two shoes" for she always did everything on task and was at the top of every class, never would you expect this good girl to be wild. But Alice knows, she was with her carrying out all those crazy plans along with their dorm mates, Joey and Marissa.
Now turning 17, she was legally an adult. She has experienced a lot of things but one she desperately wanted to experience was true love. Yes, she had occasional dates here and there but she couldn't honestly say she was head over heels in love with them. Well anyways, being of age means being able to go to the Witch's Brew. Only, how was she going to escape her parents?
--------------------------------------------------------------
"Happy Birthday Munchkins!" her mother whispered in her ear. Lily was still in bed comfortable and cozy.
"Thanks Mum." Lily let her kiss her cheek.
"Breakfast is about to be ready so wash up." Her mother got off the bed and Lily could hear the floor squeak from Mrs. Evans weight and then the soft click of the door let her pull the blanket over her head. Lily stayed there for at least five minutes before she got up to take a shower.
She left the hot water running in the shower before she stripped off her clothes and got in. Lily was tired from last night, coming home at five in the morning and getting only six hours of sleep is no treat. Scrubbing herself, she reflected on last night.
Lily Evans got her apparition license a day early and so she can disapparate and apparate inside her house with out her parents knowing. Alice threw her a "Post Birthday Party" for her and, like in the muggle world, counted down the seconds till her birthday.
Bunch of Hogwarts student's showed up and the party got out of hand ever since somebody brought the Fire Whiskey.
Glad her mother trusted her enough to not inspect her room at night, Lily got out of the shower.
"Damn, I need some Tylenol." She walked to her bedside table pulling her bath robe and took out two capsules.
"Hangover's a bitch," she heard someone say at the door.
Lily didn't even turn around to face her sister and just kept quiet.
"What would dear Mummy and Daddy say when they find out their dear baby girl went out in the middle of the night and got drunk off her ass?" Petunia was now leaning on the door.
"They won't say anything because they won't find out." Lily turned to face Petunia. "I know you won't say anything because you know I know something worse that you did. Or do you not remember the incident where I found you and Dursley on Mum and Dad's bed?
"Nothing happened." Petunia's face was getting more horse like.
"Yeah, that's why yall's clothes were all over the room," Lily said sarcastically. "It still gives me nightmares." Lily faked a shiver.
Petunia glared at her for a moment before she turned to leave.
Lily plopped down on her bed. Thank God Tylenol works fast because her pounding head ache was going away.
After brushing her long dark red hair, Lily went down for breakfast.
"There's my birthday girl!" Her mom rushed over to her with a plate full of her favorite breakfast foods.
"Thanks Mum." I sat down and dug in.
Mr. Evans kissed the top of his daughter's head and wished her a happy birthday as he came in the room. Being the business man he is he went straight down to her birthday party.
"Remember, it's a lawn party. Seeing how your friends from school can't come there has been some empty spots. So I have invited some of my business partners who have delightedly accepted and would bring their sons." Some? It was all!
I groaned, I could hear Petunia shaking with laughter.
"Oh how lovely! IS Mathew Berk attending? I always adored that boy." Her mother was ecstatic.
Being 17 meant that I'd be expected to find a suitable man to marry.
"I told you guys that I'll find someone on my own." I was tired of having to say this over and over again.
"We know hunny but wouldn't it be nice if you found someone at the party?" her mother said with a twinkle in her eye. She was such a romantic. Mrs. Evans met Mr. Evans at her own lawn party, snuck out and fell in love. She hoped something similar would happen with Lily.
"Just keep an open mind," Mr. Evans said. It didn't sound like a suggestion.
"I will, I promise, but if there's nobody I like would you please leave the match-making think alone?" I asked.
"Of course dear, we wouldn't force you on anybody," her mother said.
This never happened with Petunia because once she found out that they were going to have a lawn party for her she quickly found herself a boyfriend. Lily planned doing the exact same thing but to her misfortune, she and Tony broke up two months ago.
"I bought you a lovely dress for the party. The box is on your dresser."
I nodded. After breakfast I went back upstairs. It was about to be noon and the people would be here at four.
"Wish I leaned how to change the weather." Lily sat by the window sill. It was a bright and sunny day with a warm autumn breeze gently rustling the leaves. She got up and took the box from the dresser to her bed.
Well her mother did have style. It was a white dress that came above her knees. Very flirty, just hope the wind doesn't kick up or she'll be mooning every guy; that might make the party end early... hmm...
"Just do this Lily, don't disappoint your parents!" she said to herself.
It's going to be a nightmare with Mathew. The prick. Lily met him a couple of times at business parties her dad bright her along on. Mathew Berk was a suck up to the grown ups and a perverted jerk to the girls, mainly to Lily.
All too fast Lily had to get ready for the party. Putting on a little make-up, bouncy curls for her hair, and the dress on she looked too sweet. Way too sweet, so she did a charm on her hair to make it wavier. Thank God for magic.
The thing is, Lily had no muggle friends that could come to the party. They were on their summer vacation at the beach. She only had two muggle friends and they were twin sisters. So she was alone, with a lawn full of strangers, wishing her a happy birthday.
Five minutes in, someone tapped her on the shoulder. Turning around she dreaded what she saw. Mathew Berk was standing there with an arm full of yellow roses.
"Hey gorgeous." He put his arms around me but I quickly shrugged him off.
"You can put those with all the other roses." I tried to be a little nice. She could hear her dad's voice, 'Open Mind.'
"Hmm... you'd be kicking my shins about this time; Parents blackmailed you to be nice to me or did you suddenly realize you want me?" He was smirking.
"Actually, I'm just happy this'll be the last time I'd have to deal with you." She took the roses after her mother was making shrewd signals for her to do so. Mathew followed her to the table full of flowers.
"Why do you say that? I'm planning on seeing a lot of you," he said.
"Whatever." I looked around at the party.
"Hey, there's Noah," Lily said and ditched Mathew to talk with him.
Noah was a cool guy who also happened to be Reana's boyfriend, one of the twins, so it was sage talking with him.
"How's it going?" he asked.
"It's okay... wish i was anywhere but here though," i said.
"This is your party make it fun." He was sipping on some champagne. Wish I had some Butter beer
"This is more like... my arranged marriage. I mean look at all these guys! My parents are hoping for me to pick one of them?" I leaned against the white picket fence.
"You mean Mathew." Noah was near to laughter.
"Yeah, that bastard." We both turned around at that time to stare at him. He was surrounded by all the guys telling a joke or something because they all busted out laughing a moment later.
"So anyways," I didn't want to see anymore of his cocky face, "why are you here? Shouldn't you be at the beach with Reana?"
"I'm going to go tomorrow. My parents say it'll look good for their image if I went with them to your sweet 17... they don't really approve of Reana," He said looking at the ground.
"Oh, I'm really sorry." She really was. Before they could change the subject, Eric came and asked Lily to dance. The lights were beginning to come on since it was getting dark. White Christmas lights were everywhere around the lawn, just for image.
Noah was snickering as he pushed her towards Eric. Noah, Reana and Rain knew that Lily had a crush on Eric years back. She was still stunned as she followed him to the middle of the lawn where some couples were dancing to the light music.
"Didn't know you were here," said Lily coming out of her shock. If she HAD to pick any guy here it would definitely be Eric. He was the tall, dark, and handsome in the movies you see.
"Well I am." He looked as if he didn't want to be here. But he continued to dance. He looked at Lily.
"I don't know if you changed or not since the last time i saw you." His eyes roamed her face and body. "Never mind." He smirked.
She felt herself blush, if it was Mathew who did this she would have knocked him out in one punch but this was Eric! Lily was determined to act cool...
"Really, I don't thing you changed at all. By looks anyway." He grinned. Merlin's he was sexy.
Then to her worse nightmare, Mathew asked to cut in. Please say no. Please say No.
"Sure."
Noooooooooooo!
She bit her lower lip as Eric stepped aside and Mathew took his place. A really slow song came on. Shit.
"Come here Lily Love," He said grabbing my ass.
"Ew, get off!" she said and pushed him away. *Ding, Ding* "Dinner!"
"THANK GOD!" She didn't even bother keeping her voice down.
"We'll pick this back up after!" he yelled after me as i half ran, half walked away from him. Each step followed an "Ew"
Dinner came and went. She checked the time and it was 9:09. Lily has been doing everything she could to avoid Mathew but he seemed to be everywhere! She couldn't take it, all this harassment and not being about to do anything, especially with magic, was enough! He corned her just at her boiling point and she did a quick, but hard, punch squarely in his face.
"Don't fuck with me Mathew Berk. If you touch me one more time I'm going to mess that cocky little face of yours so that your own mother wouldn't be able to recognize who you are!"
She knew she was making a scene and that the parents would come to the other side of the lawn, where the teens were, to check out what was going on. Lily stormed inside but could hear Noah yell a praise over the laughter.
Before her parents could come in and bring her back out, she ran up to her room, grabbed the bag she prepared earlier and apparated to Alice's room.
"What the hell are you doing here?" was Alice's greeting. They agreed that the party wouldn't... or couldn't last up to 10:30 and that's when Lily would act like she had a rough night and go to bed.
"Well at least now i have someone to entertain me till 11:00. That's when Joey and Marissa are going to come so we can all apparate there together," Alice said after Lily told her why she was here so early.
"Can you believe we're actually going to go to the Witch's Brew?" Lily asked.
"Hell yeah! I've been waiting for this my whole entire life," said Alice, "but we HAD to make that little pact where we ALL had to be 17 to go."
"Hey, you came up with that," Lily said sitting down on Alice's bed.
"I know, but Joey probably broke that pack a year ago... she was always sneaking into one place or another." Alice fell back on her bed.
Lily rolled her eyes. "Come on, lets just start getting ready. I brought the curler and straightener with me. You always wanted to use those!" Lily opened her bag, filled with accessories, clothes, and hair supplies.
