True Love
Harry walked through the snow, silently fuming. 'I can't believe I let her talk me into this' he thought as he headed towards The Three Broomsticks. As he passed Zonko's, he saw Ron and Hermione snogging. Harry gave a wan smile. ' Don't they know that Old Man Zonko has a nasty temper and will hex anyone he finds behind his building acting way more than friendly? ' Harry shook his head. ' Oh, well. Let them find out on their own. ' He went inside the crowded, noisy pub, and felt someone or something grab onto his arm. He backed away, hitting his head on something and the world went black.
When Harry came to, he was inside the back room of The Three Broomsticks, with Ginny sitting next to him, looking worried. "Are you ok, Harry?" she asked, concern coating her voice.
"Yeah, I'm fine. What happened?"
"Well, as you walked in, I grabbed your arm, you backed away, and hit your head on the shelf that hangs on the door."
"Ah."
"You still feel up to talking?"
"I guess." Harry groaned and got to his feet. His head hurt a little, but not that much. He followed Ginny into the pub, over to a little table. It ewas covered in platters of delicious food, all made by Ginny, as Harry later found out. They talked and laughed, remembering their old Hogwarts days. Ginny had grown from being the gangly, goofy little sister of his best friend, she had grown into a real woman. Harry had gotten some muscles, and his pale skin had taken a tan. The tan was starting to fade, though, but it was still noticable.
"What was your favorite thing that happened during your time at Hogwarts, Ginny?" Harry asked.
"Probably when Dumbledore promoted me from Fifth year to Sixth year."
"Yeah." Harry thought a while. He couldn't help but notice how beautiful Ginny had become. Her hair, once cut short, was now down to her waist. He felt a longing of some sorts, but he pushed it away. " My favorite thing was defeating Voldemort." Ginny flinched. "Come on, it's not like he's a threat anymore."
"I know," Ginny replied, "It's just that- that I'm not used to him being gone yet."
They talked a while more, with Harry's longing for Ginny growing and growing, with Harry trying (and failing) to keep it down, and then Ginny asked Harry, "If today was your last day on Earth, what would you do?"
Harry could stand it no longer. "Would you like to find out?" he said softly, holding out his hand. Ginny took it, as if she was in a trance. He took her to the alley behind Honeydukes, and started kissing her. Softly at first, but then harder, and then Ginny started kissing him back, pressing herself against him, and using some tongue. At last, they broke apart, panting heavily. "Ginny, can I ask you a question?" Haryr said.
"Shoot." she replied, smirking.
"Well, you have made me feel as if though someone really cares about me, and I just want to ask you this." Harry took a black box out of his pocket and dropped onto one knee. "Ginny, will you make me the happiest man on Earth, and become my wife?"
She managed to say "Yes" before she fainted. Harry bent down, put the ring on her finger, picked her up tenderly in his arms, and carried her away.
As Harry was walking up the hill with Ginny in his arms, they ran into Ron and Hermione. "Bloody hell," Ron swore, "What happened to her?" All Harry could do was grin, but Hermione had noticed the ring on Ginny's finger. "Harry, did you-? How wonderful!" Hermione exclamed. Harry nodded. "Yep."
"Will somebody PLEASE tell me what's going on here?" moaned Ron.
"Isn't it obvious, you prat?" Hermione snapped. "Harry asked Ginny to marry him, and Ginny said yes! Honestly!"
"Really?" Ron exclaimed. "Well, good show, mate!" All of a sudden, interrupting their chitchat, a hex burst from Harry's arms, startling him and forcing him to drop Ginny, who landed on her feet. "I saw Draco trying to hex you, so I stopped him," Ginny said matter-of-factly, pointing to an unconscious Draco.
"Thanks!" everyone said in unison.
"Anytime!" Ginny said with a giggle.
