Finally.
It was here.
The day she'd waited for all her life.
Her Wedding Day.
When she was little she had planned it out with Barbies, when a teenager she planned it with designer clothing and a particular boy in mind.
Today that particular boy was standing - waiting for her at the other end of a long aisle. His mouth slightly open, he gaped at her. Good. She'd always planned for the groom to be startled by her appearance.
There he was with his red red hair and his laughing blue blue eyes. And her too, with unusually tame hair and comforting liquid brown eyes. After the proposal (which really wasn't as elegant as she'd imagined, but perfect all the same) she'd planned out every imaginable detail. Exactly how many flowers were needed -- not too many (she didn't want to be tacky) but not too little (there was no reason to look cheap), the exact shade of bridesmaid dresses, the color of her love's tie, what food to serve at the reception, who to invite - the list was truly endless.
But none of that mattered now.
Here she was looking at the man she knew was the man from her dreams, about to make the biggest decision of her life.
But it was the easiest decision she would ever make.
She'd loved that red-haired boy since she was at least thirteen. She'd loved him for at least ten years, even in the beginning, when she willed herself not to.
They had their faults. They knew that. She's was bossy and he could be careless. They fought like cats and dogs.
But none of that mattered now.
While she took that long walk towards the man from her dreams she remembered. Remembered how they met, remembered all the times they were angry with each other, remembered when he finally admitted he loved her, remembered that surprise proposal he'd offered her and how sorry he was that it wasn't perfect. That's what he thought though. She would have accepted nothing else, for she loved him more than any proposal or any ring and all she needed was the question.
A white dress trailed on a rose strewn carpet. Friends and family watched captivated. A minister patiently waited. Children became antsy. Mothers cried and fathers tried not to.
But none of that mattered now.
Blue eyes locked with brown.
And then the blue-eyed red-haired groom winked. And he asked in an ever so soft whisper if he could kiss his love now.
And the bride smiled. In her twenty years of planning this day she hadn't planned on that. But she was thrilled.
Hermione knew that life with Ron would be filled with raw emotion and deep unwavering love, but the reason she was so ready, so happy, so in love with this boy was all in that wink.
Today was her Wedding Day.
But that didn't matter now.
All that mattered to was that cheeky beautiful groom, and the life they began today.
