Draco was shaken awake by Ginny the next morning. They got ready quickly, Ginny insisting they wore matching knitted sweaters. Thank God Draco's jumper was grey and black, or he would have refused to wear it. They went downstairs, and everyone ate breakfast quickly, eager to begin opening presents.

After breakfast, they gathered around the beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the main hall, Fred and George leading the way. The presents had already been sorted into piles according to the recipient by the house elves, so everyone tore into them quickly. Draco opened up boxes of chocolates, other assorted gifts and the Tiffany cufflinks he knew Ginny had gotten him. The only one left was a small rectangular parcel wrapped in green paper. He read the tag- To Draco, from Harry. Smiling slightly, he opened it carefully, and revealed a hardcover book - a first edition copy of his favourite novel, The Golden Seeker. The very same copy he wanted to buy in Diagon Alley. He looked up at Harry, and saw he was holding the scarf Draco had bought for him. He caught his eyes, and they both smiled quietly at each other.

Meanwhile, Ginny had chosen that moment to open Draco's gift. She'd chosen a perfect moment, making sure all eyes were on her, and lifted the lid off the jewellery box slowly. She gasped when she saw the necklace and said, "Oh my God! Draco, I love it!"

'Draco, I love it!' - That was his cue to kiss her. Draco took a deep breath, and summoned up all his courage. 'What the hell,' he thought, 'I may be gay, but damn it, I can act!'

He seized Ginny around the waist, and kissed her (of the French variety) passionately, ignoring the twins catcalls. When he let her go, his eyes immediately went to Harry. Draco was confused when Harry gave him a knowing smile. What was that supposed to mean?

After the present opening, Ginny and Hermione went off to the spa in preparation for the ball. The mansion buzzed with activity, as deliverymen swarmed around, bringing in decorations for the ball. Molly and Narcissa ran around barking orders, making sure everything was running smoothly. Draco needed a break from the craziness, so he grabbed his broom from his room and headed for the Quidditch grounds. As he neared the pitch, he noticed there was someone else who had the same idea. He watched the person zoom around expertly and found it hard to take his eyes away. The person noticed he was being watched, so he landed lightly on the ground and walked towards Draco. It was Harry. Draco couldn't help but notice how good Harry looked in his Quidditch gear.

"Hi. Hope you don't mind me intruding," Draco said.

"No, it's fine," Harry replied.

After a slight pause, they both spoke again.

"Thank you for the book..." Draco said.

"Thanks for your gift..." Harry said at the same time.

They laughed.

Harry summoned a set of Quidditch balls from the nearby shed. He took out the Quaffle and tossed it up and down expertly.

"How 'bout a game? One-on one," Harry asked, grinning at Draco.

Draco hesitated, knowing how good a Qudditch player Harry was.

"Scared, Malfoy?" Harry asked.

"You wish," Draco said and jumped on his broom, zooming up towards the sky.

Draco forgot about the drama of the previous three days as he flew around the pitch, feeling the wind blow through his hair. He and Harry played for a few hours, not caring who won or lost. Soon it was lunchtime, and they both felt hungry, so decided to head back to the mansion to get something to eat. Brooms in hand, they bumped into Molly at the front door.

"Oh, hello, boys," she said, "We're not having a proper lunch today, everyone's just so busy or out. Just grab something from the kitchen if you're hungry." She rushed off again.

Draco and Harry went into the kitchen and made some sandwiches. They ate them at the kitchen bench watching the house elves run around preparing tonight's feast and chatting about their Quidditch game. After lunch, they listened to a Quidditch match on the wireless in the living room, and snacked on a bag of chips and a block of chocolate. Narcissa breezed in, her arms full of freshly ironed tablecloths, and she looked incredulously at Harry and Draco.

"Boys! Enough snacking, you're ruining your appetite for tonight. It's already four o' clock, go get ready!" she exclaimed, summoning the food with her wand and shooing them out.

"Well, I guess we should go get ready," Harry said.

"Yeah," Draco sighed.

"You wanna go finish listening in my room?"

"Yeah!"

After finishing the match, Draco headed back to his room. Ginny was not back yet, so he used the quiet time to take a leisurely long bath, almost falling asleep in the tub. After his bath, he

exited the bathroom, and found Ginny back from the spa and hairdressers. Her hair was professionally curled, and done up in an elegant side-pony, embellished with a diamond clip.

"Oh, there you are, by the way, I forgot to tell you, you can't dance with anyone else tonight - only me," she told him.

Draco was by now used to her unreasonable demands, and simply nodded. He glanced at his watch, and was surprised to see it was already 5.30pm. The ball was starting at 6, but Ginny had told him they would arrive at the ballroom at quarter past 6, in order to make a grand entrance.

Draco went back into his room and pulled out a plain black Muggle suit out of his closet. Narcissa will have his skin, but Draco absolutely detested wearing dress robes. They made him look fat. He dressed, put on a silver tie, and ran a hand through his hair in trademark fashion. He stood in front of the mirror, and smiled when it gave a whistle of approval.

Draco went into Ginny's room. She had put on her gown- a strapless number in cream chiffon with a gold satin sash, cinching in her slim waist. Draco was impressed. Ginny may be a total bitch, but she sure knew how to dress. She held up the diamond necklace - her Christmas gift from Draco, and he put it on for her.

"How do I look?" she asked.

"Beautiful," he answered.

They waited until it was quarter past six, and then headed down to the ballroom. Before stepping in, Draco offered Ginny his arm, and she slipped her arm through his elbow. As they entered, all eyes turned to look towards them, and people whispered among themselves.

"Wow, look at her. Isn't she beautiful?" Ginny heard a woman murmur to her companion, and smiled smugly.

"What a perfect couple," another commented.

Draco didn't hear any of these comments as he admired the decor. Molly and Narcissa had outdone themselves, as usual, and created a stunning atmosphere. The ballroom was decorated in a theme of white, gold and silver. White Christmas trees stood around the room, decorated with gold twinkling lights and sparkling ornaments. Freshly cut bouquets of white roses stood in glass vases on the tables, which were draped in white tablecloths and laid with the finest cut china and silverware. The ballroom was aglow with the light of a million candles, and the crystal chandeliers were lit, adding to the effect. However, the best part had to be the glistening, tiny snowflakes that were enchanted to fall from the ceiling.

Draco and Ginny made their way to their seats, and found themselves seated at a table with Harry, Hermione, Ron, Fred, George and Percy, much to Ron's disgust. They 'ordered' their food from the menus done in perfect calligraphy, similar to the method at the Yule Ball. After eating, Ginny excused herself to go to the bathroom, and Draco made his way to the bar. A beautiful girl spotted him drinking by himself, and sauntered up to him. She flirted with him, and Draco considered telling her he was gay, just to see her reaction. He didn't get to, however, as Ginny returned to find him. She went up to the bar, grabbed Draco and kissed him, before turning to the other girl and hissed, "Stay away from my boyfriend, you little whore."

She pulled a shocked Draco out of the ballroom into the corridor.

"I can't believe you! Hitting on that slut!" Ginny yelled.

"I wasn't bloody hitting on her! I was going to tell her I was gay when you showed up!" Draco said unbelievingly.

Harry was exiting the ballroom when he heard raised voices.

"And that was no way to treat her! She was just flirting harmlessly, and you probably shocked her to death!" Draco yelled.

"Flirting harmlessly with MY BOYFRIEND!" Ginny yelled back.

"Look, I've had enough of your little tantrums and unreasonable behaviour. I was putting up with it but I can't freaking take anymore!" Draco said.

"MY behaviour? What about you, running off to drink whenever you're pissed?"

"Yeah, pissed with YOU! And guess what? I take back what I said before, you don't look beautiful, you look horrible in that dress!"

Ginny recoiled. "You don't mean that," she said.

"Well, no, I don't. You know I would never say that about Chanel. But anyway, I don't want to act anymore. I'm sick of pretending," Draco said.

Ginny smiled. "Oh, you'll keep acting. Or I'm going to have to tell everyone the real reason why you moved to New York," she said.

Draco stepped back, and stared at her, shocked.

"You wouldn't," he whispered.

"Oh, you know I will. So you're going to keep pretending and you're going to like it," she said.

She turned on her heel and went back into the ballroom.

Draco stayed standing out in the hall, frozen in shock. He couldn't believe Ginny would bring that subject back up, after all these years. He leaned against the wall and sank down onto the cold marble floor, head in hands, remembering.

"Are you okay?" he heard a voice ask softly.

"No," he whispered, talking into his hands. He knew it was Harry.

After a few moments, Harry still did not leave, so Draco looked up. Harry looked uncomfortable as he said, "I heard you and Ginny fighting just now."

Draco sighed. "So I guess you know everything."

"I knew before. Hermione and Ron heard you two talking before in your room. Listen, Draco, she's blackmailing you. Whatever that information is, she's using it against you. You can take her to court," Harry said.

"No, I can't. If I do, then everyone will know the real reason why I moved to New York," Draco said flatly, echoing Ginny's words.

"I thought you moved there because the American Ministry of Magic offered you a better job," Harry said, confused.

"That's only one part of the story," Draco said.

"You want to talk about it?" Harry asked.

Draco looked around. He was still sitting on the floor in the corridor, and occasionally, a few partygoers exited the ballroom to go to the bathroom.

"Not here," Draco said.

He led Harry outside to the gardens, and they sat down on a bench. After casting a spell to make sure no-one overheard, Draco began to speak.

"What I'm about to tell you must never leave your lips again," he said.

Harry nodded, and Draco continued.

"When I was working in the Ministry here in London, there was this guy working in my department. He was tall, handsome, intelligent... and I had a huge crush on him. I thought he was interested in me, too. We always had lunch together, and he made me coffee every morning... Anyway, one day, around the time I got the New York job offer, he told me he had a plan to embezzle some money from the Ministry, and asked me for my help. I said yes. I was so hopelessly infatuated with him, I didn't think about what I was saying. When it came to the time, I couldn't go through with it. I realised he was just using me so I would help him. I didn't want to face him again, so I took the job in New York, and..."

"...never looked back," Harry finished.

Draco nodded and looked down.

"Am I a bad person?" he asked.

"I don't think you are," Harry answered.

They sat in silence for a few minutes. Harry looked around the gardens. The trees were lit with golden lights, and a fountain trickled delicately in the background. The sky was clear, showing off the millions of stars and the perfect full moon. Harry looked at Draco, who looked even more handsome than ever in the moonlight.

'Do it now,' Harry thought to himself.

He took a deep breath and asked Draco, "Would you like to dance?"

Draco smiled, saying "But there's no music."

Harry muttered a quick spell and a soft melodic tune drifted around them.

Draco stood, pulling Harry up with him. "I would love to dance," he said, slipping one arm around Harry's waist and holding his hand with the other.

They danced together, enjoying the warmth of each other in the cold winter's air. Staring deep into the other's eyes, they leaned closer...

Who knew the moonlight could be so magical?

Epilogue

One year later...

Harry shuffled out from his bedroom, yawning, and found Draco cooking breakfast at the stove wearing nothing but his pyjama bottoms.

"Morning, honey," Draco called out.

"Morning," Harry muttered, pouring himself a cup of coffee.

Feeling more awake, he padded over to Draco and gave him a kiss.

There was a knock on the door, and Draco went to answer it.

He was shocked to find Ginny at the door, looking as elegant as ever, in designer threads and sunglasses.

"Hello, Draco. I was in London visiting family, and I thought I'd drop by," she said in a cool tone.

"Well, good to see you," Draco said, although he meant the opposite.

"And I thought I'd share my news with you...I'm engaged," she purred smugly, holding out a hand where a huge diamond ring sparkled.

"So am I," Draco replied just as smugly.

"What?! To who?" Ginny demanded, dropping her pretence.

Harry came up behind Draco, wrapping his arms around Draco's waist and leaning his chin on Draco's shoulder.

"I think you know my fiancé, Harry," Draco said with a smile.

"How are you, Ginny?" Harry asked pleasantly, trying not to laugh at the look on Ginny's face.

"Well, this has been fun, but we have better things to do," Draco said. "Congratulations, by the way, he's a lucky man!"

He closed the door and turned to Harry.

"I feel sorry for whoever he is," Harry laughed.

"Who cares about him?" Draco murmured as he kissed Harry.

Harry gave him a knowing smile and led him to the bedroom, Draco kicking the door close behind them.

And so the goings-on at apartment 51 Diagon Alley, continued.

The end.
