Chapter 2
Emotions

As Draco observed his badly swollen lip, his father's pounding fists of fury on his door grew increasingly, and then with an erupt stop it suddenly ended. Draco inhaled a deep breath of relieve. It was over for him... at least for now.

The ceiling was of a white cream color and was as boring as ever. Harry Potter was lying impatiently on his bed staring at the ceiling, as there was nothing else he could do at the time but think. Harry had been thinking about his past year at Hogwarts. So much Harry gained that year and yet so much he had dramatically lost. Sirius Black was now in the after life...gone forever. All Harry had thought about was how it was his fault Sirius died and how Harry could have prevented the whole thing.

This thought hung over Harry's shoulders like a thousand cement bricks. Weighing him down and torturing his dreams Harry could never forget that unforgettable night. The night Sirius had died.

Night after night day after day this had haunted Harry. There was this feeling of a black hole in the middle of Harry's heart that he could not get rid of. So badly Harry just wanted to end his own life but for his frnds sake he didn't.

As Harry lay there just staring and thinking knowing there was nothing he could do now his thoughts slipped out of his head for a brief second as he heard his dumb-ass cousin yelling at his parents. "Dad can't I have $370.OO!? MOM, TELL HIM I CAN HAVE THE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Well dudly-dums, we... we...we... have to save the money for your father's operation sweet pie."

As Harry heard this he remembered when his Uncle Dursley had broken his shoulder. He did this while trying to fix the window on the second floor and on a latter and then fell off (the big fat-ass). Then he, Aunt Petunia, and Dudley had to go to the hospital, leaving Harry with solitude and the house. That was just about the best day Harry had had in that summer so far.

As the Dursley's fighting finally died down again Harry was back to thinking. Harry could hardly feel any emotion but pain and annoyance, pain from the death of his godfather and annoyance from his stupid aunt, uncle, and spoiled cousin. All he could do was just feel it and get through it and then have it be over, but then again Harry didn't know when it would be over. This was true pain...

Lights go out and I can't be saved

Tides that I tried to swim against

You've put me down upon my knees
/p>

Oh I beg, I beg and plead

Come out of things unsaid; shoot an apple of my head

Trouble that can't be named, tigers waiting to be tamed

You are, you are

As Harry lay upon his bed his shadow became his friend, as Hedwig was out hunting. The sun outside of his bulleted window was slowly and almost hauntingly setting. Harry finally drifted off into a horror filled dream of emotional sadness and anger.

Confusion never stops, closing walls and ticking clocks

Come back and take you home, I could not stop, that you now know

Come out upon my seas, curse missed opportunities

A part of the cure,or am I part of the disease

You are, you are, you are, you are, you are, you are

And nothing else compares

Oh no nothing else compares

And nothing else compares

Draco finally left the bathroom for the solitude of his room. As he set his weak body upon his soft comforting pillow he thought of his Hermione. She was smart and yet beautiful, graceful and yet destructive. She was Draco image of a prefect girl. Even as his lip throbbed with agony Draco felt in comfort. Hermione always kept him going...

A crash awoke Draco with a fright of panic and anxiety. The first thing he saw in the doorway of his room was his father's half awake face. Stuttering, hiccupping, and drunk Lucius Malfoy made his way into Draco's room, but not without tripping over the door he had some how managed to un-charm. "DDDD...RACO MMMMM... AALFOY!!! Y...OOO...UUUU NO WHATTT YYYY...OU DDDDD...DID YYYOU LITTLE SSSS...SSS...SS...HHHIT!!!"

Just as soon as Lucius had entered, he passed out and fell to the ground. Draco sighed and picked his father's drunken body into the hallway while painfully picking up his door's broken pieces. Draco reattached his door with a quick spell and then just as quick re-charmed it with an even greater spell that was sure to keep Draco safe for tonight at least.

Chapter 3
Troublesome worries

Sirius was falling backwards as if in an old time movie back in the 50's and as if it was being held in slow motion Sirius fell slower and deeper backwards. Dramatically and slowly inch by inch almost as it felt to Harry, day by day. At sad last Sirius reached the drooping gothic veil. Backwards farther and farther, deeper and deeper into darkness Harry saw Sirius falling. There was nothing Harry could do...Just stand there in misery knowing he couldn't do anything about it. Then suddenly the whole scene went into a misty blur.

Sweat rolled down Harry's forehead like water on the outside of a cold glass cup. Harry's deep breaths, followed by hurtful almost killing worth pain were making Harry have a mental breakdown at the moment. Night after night, dream after dream Harry had the same dream and the same killing pain that struck him. Harry never knew when this was going to end. As Harry wiped the warm tears from his eyes he knew all Harry wanted was for his Godfather the only father figure Harry ever knew to come back from the horrifying truth...The dead.

She walked through the hallway gently as if gliding in a ballroom gown, her hair sweeping over her shoulders like daises in the wind. Her head held high with pride and her smile as sweet as fresh bee honey. Then her image began to go backwards... Like walking backwards the way she had just come forward. Her beauty and elegance was starting to evaporate slowly but surely. Draco awoke with a deep unsatisfied sigh... He only had her in his dreams and that was the only thing left for him...his Hermione.

A hundred days had made me older since the last time that I saw your

Pretty face

A thousand lights had made me colder and I don't think I can look at this

The same, but all the miles had separated

They disappeared now when I'm dreaming of your face

I'm here without you baby but your still on my lonely mind

I think about you baby and I dream about you all the time

I'm here without you baby but your still with me in my dreams

And tonight it's only you and me

As Draco went out of his peaceful room and into the hallway, which still contained the overly drunken Lucius, he saw the precious light of the moon jeweled across the hallway floor. A balcony over both sides of the house hung inside. This is where you look down and see who was downstairs on each side of this hall and balcony. It was a prefect place to just gaze. No one would believe these feelings Draco had. It was almost impossible to anyone that knew Draco's cover side, in which his hidden side was under, to actually believe that Draco was possibly human with real human feelings. This is what pained Draco to the deepest depth of darkness.

All Draco ever wanted was to be needed... to have someone actually care for him. Even though this sounded dumb to even Draco as he said this he knew it was true. The moon hung outside a window above the balcony/hallway. Its beauty reminded him of Hermione. It was as if the moon was a gem, original and plain, and yet completely full of unknown beauty to every eye it may seek. Just standing there and wanting the moment to last helped Draco feel that the moon was what needed him. The moon was a creature of its own kind and needed Draco to watch over it.

Draco knew wanting this moment to last would never happen. Somehow this moment would be crushed; he didn't know how he just knew it would happen. But for now Draco thought to himself... just let it be.

Suddenly as if it was bound to happen, something grabbed Draco and slammed his face into the side railing of the hallway balcony. Draco's eyes watered as he felt pain unleash throughout his whole face. Blood flowed from Draco's nose and mouth. It was wet, cold tasting and dark from the moonlight hitting the blood. Who or what was this thing that had a hold of Draco in such strength it pinched his ribs. Draco could only feel the agony and pain of his face he was in too much pain to fight back.

***

The moon hung deep in the sky where the stars shimmered like emeralds. The light from the moon cast an eerie and yet peaceful look to Harry's room. Knowing that if he slept only his worst memory and dream would appear back into his dreams. Haunting him at each moment he slept. So as Harry knew he just laid in his bed with only a thin cotton sheet like blanket to keep him warm. As it was summer Harry didn't really need a blanket but since Harry had no comfort that was humanlike beside him the blanket just had to do.

Thoughts filled Harry's mind like water filling into a cup. Harry had thoughts that he only remembered having in the back of his mind. Thoughts like what he would do after he graduated from Hogwarts, thoughts of where he would live, and thoughts of his life when he was at a much older age. These were more comforting thoughts to Harry than the thoughts of Sirius dying and how Harry could have saved him. This was the only comfort Harry had had in a long time.

***

Draco's mind was going blank as to what to do next. Should he try and fight back? Should he try and make a run for his room? Should he just take the pain?
Then as if god were answering his prayers an angelic image came clear in his mind. Hermione vision was there to save him. With an elbow in the back of this thing's ribs and a couple of jabs to this thing's probably human legs, Draco managed to break free of this thing's grip. He turned around and knocked him straight out cold.

The thing was a human as Draco could see from the moonlight. From this distance Draco couldn't tell who this person was. Each step he took was a step of anxiety. Finally he was well enough to see his attackers face. Draco looked down and saw the attacker.
