Draco sighed. Damn girl- why couldn't she just cooperate???
He was frustrated and had made it known to the world. Why, he had not made known. No one knew why except for himself. And he didn't plan on anyone else getting to know any time soon, except maybe her...
His thoughts turned inwards, sharp gray eyes becoming rather dreamy as he thought of her perfectness...
He had known from the moment he set eyes on her. Sure, she was sopping wet, hair tossed every which way from the wind. He loved the way her hair had looked that night, although he normally hated messiness. But somehow her messy hair had been perfect. Then he had seen her glance up, eyes glaring defiantly at the world, even though she was shaking violently. His face had begun to turn pink. She had caught his eye, noting his flushed face and automatically glancing at the beautiful dark-haired girl beside her, assuming that he was appreciating her good looks. But no, she never suspected it had been her he had been looking appreciatively at. Later that night, his eyes kept seeking her out, until Pansy had finally asked, "What are you looking for?"
"Nothing," he had brusquely replied and nothing more was said.
Every time he had seen her, he had furtively glanced at her, just to see her one more time. And she, fortunately, had never noticed. No one really had, to his great relief.
He had never said a word to her about his feelings. But now, his life was beginning to fall apart. He needed her by his side, desperately. But she would most likely be revolted if she found out his feelings for her. Revolted, in fact, would probably be putting it mildly.
Well, too late now, he thought. It's already been sent. I suppose I might even hear the shriek of disgust all the way from here.
Averting his mind from these gloomy and depressing thoughts, he began to list everything that was perfect about her.
Her eyes. Her hair. The way she walked, talked, held her books while hurrying to class, breathed. The way she always grinned rather lopsidedly. Her feet, how she dressed, how...
Wait, he thought. Why am I listing things that are perfect about her? There's a much simpler way to go about this. Everything about her is perfect.
He sighed happily and continued to think.
He wished she were here. If she came, surely everything would be all right. At any rate, it would certainly be better than the way things were now. Unless, of course, she were mad over the letter he had just sent her.
He shuddered to think of what might happen.
Think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts, he told himself desperately.
When she was happy though, her smile (almost literally) could light up the Great Hall.
He had come across her once fast asleep in the library. He had noted her pajamas, which were purple with silvery-gray stars on them. He guessed that she had forgotten to study for something, and had rushed here in her pajamas, not bothering to change.
So, he had sat and watched her. She was quite cute when she was sleeping, he remembered thinking. Eventually, but rather regretfully, he had shaken her to wake her and had then run out so she wouldn't see him.
His thoughts were interrupted by a tentative knock at the door.
"Go away," he yelled angrily. He heard footsteps receding hastily down the hallway. "Good, they're gone," he muttered, and went back to thinking.

Miles away, she was reading his letter. In fact, she did scream, but unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), Draco didn't hear it as he lay lost in his world of dreams.
