Chapter 3
A week went by, followed by another, and another. Eventually, a month and a half had passed since the little 'incident' between Ginny and Draco.
Though, at first, they both wanted to meet for a quick snog, as time passed they seemed to have changed their minds. They never got the chance to get together again, so they slowly lost interest in each other. Well, at least that's what Ginny thought. She went from smiling at him in the halls, to blushing and looking away every time she saw him, to avoiding him, to not caring, and Malfoy went through a similar experience. Or so it seemed. But no one suspected anything, and everything was back to normal.

Ginny was sitting alone in the Gryffindor common room on a Saturday afternoon, reading a book that Hermione had lent her. The book was called Witches and Wizards of the Past, Present, and Future...by: William Cornell and it was quite interesting too.
The common room was relatively quiet. Most people were outside enjoying the crisp fall air that surrounded the castle in October. Colin, who became the Gryffindor Keeper in his fourth year, was with the Quidditch team discussing new tactics and game plans for the upcoming season. Ginny simply sat on a window sill and gazed outside watching the leaves turn colour and the birds sing, not wanting to go out there by her lonesome.
She was so entranced by the view of the natural Hogwarts grounds, that she didn't hear it when Hermione entered the portrait hole.
"Psst! Ginny!" Hermione whispered. Ginny, surprised by the random visit, turned her head and asked, "What?!"
"I have to tell you something!" Ginny stared, waiting for Hermione's news, but when it didn't come she said, "Well alright then get on with it!"
"Not here, come upstairs." Trying to not catch anyone's attention, Hermione and Ginny crept up the winding staircase into the prefect dormitory. Hermione closed the door and sat down on her bed and Ginny sat across from her on a bed of her own, waiting for this exciting news.
The two girls had gotten close again; they shared secrets, gossiped, and Cho was definitely no longer a threat to Ginny. The only problem was that Ginny new something that Hermione didn't, and could never know. Although Ginny had wanted to tell her about Draco, she knew she couldn't. Hermione could be trusted, there was no doubt about that, but if she found out something of this nature, she wouldn't understand and she would tell Harry and Ron in a split second. Ginny couldn't take that chance. Besides, she didn't want silly rumours spreading about her when the only thing that happened was a simple kiss. It didn't mean anything. Did it?
"Well 'Mione, what is it?" Ginny asked intrigued by whatever this news may be. "It's about Ron," Hermione said. "Something happened..."
"Oh no! It's not serious is it?? Is he alright?" Ginny was beginning to worry. "Oh yes! Everything's fine! He's fine! I-it's something different. Something happened between me and him." Hermione hesitated for a bit, but when she saw the anxious look in Ginny's face, she continued, "We were outside just now, Harry's at Quidditch practice so he wasn't there. We were walking and talking and, don't ask me why, but my feelings for him spilled out. I couldn't help it, I wasn't even sure what I was doing I just said it. But here's the funny part, he feels the same way for me!!! So one thing lead to another, and now, you're looking at Ron Weasley's new girlfriend."
Ginny was mixed with feelings of happiness, shock and the emotion that makes you scream 'YAY!!' She ran up to Hermione and hugged her like crazy before yelling, "Welcome to the family 'Mione!! You're practically a Weasley now!" She stepped back, sat down again and asked, "Does anybody else know? Where's Ron now? Did you guys kiss yet?" The questions would have gone on and on, but before Ginny got a chance to really interrogate Hermione, she quickly answered the first few questions, "You're the only one that knows so far, Ginny. Ron is at the Quidditch pitch right now waiting for Harry's practice to end so he can tell him about it. I hope it goes well."
"I'm sure it'll go fine. Harry will be thrilled! Did you kiss Ron yet?!" Ginny asked again, this time more eagerly.
"Well...yeah. After we said our 'I love yous', the opportunity was there, and it was a good moment so..." Hermione's cheeks turned scarlet, and Ginny was screaming. "Oh my god!!! You did?!?! AAAHHH!!! Aww you're so cute!! You guys are totally meant for each other!"
The excitement throughout the afternoon was unbelievable after that. Ginny was still jumping around when Harry came into the common room and hugged Hermione tight. At dinner, Ron and Hermione sat together and were talking the entire time. Not fighting, not arguing, they were actually having a civilized conversation with each other! The only time things went back to normal that day was while everyone was sleeping. Well, except for Ginny.
Despite the fact that Ginny was over-joyed with the whole situation, her happy feelings were soon crushed as the night progressed. The first problem was that she noticed that Colin wasn't at dinner, and she later found out that during practice, he had broken his wrist and was now sleeping in the hospital wing. So not only was she worried about her friend, but she was sitting all alone during her meal. The second problem was that Draco was looking at Ginny all through dinner. He barely took his eyes off her, and every time Ginny looked back, he smiled that sweet smile of his. //What is this? Like a monthly thing? It's like at a certain time every month he starts staring at me like crazy. I don't get him. First he loves me, then he doesn't look at me, and now he likes me again? What's up with him?!// The third reason was that Ginny had a last minute prefect meeting that night after dinner, so she would have to run to the prefect bathroom right after so she could take her shower before curfew. That being said, she would have less than an hour to bathe in there, and in a bathroom as luxurious as that one, you need much more than an hour to enjoy yourself. Usually.
* * *
The prefect meeting began and, just like the last one, Draco sat himself in front of Ginny to give himself the opportunity to stare at her wonderful face. Although this would usually suck for Ginny, the meeting went by faster than expected, so it wasn't that bad. It only consisted of a couple reminders about future events, and the announcement of the need for volunteers to decorate the Great Hall for Halloween. A list was posted up so people could sign up if they wanted to help out with the upcoming holiday. Ginny signed up eagerly, after all, she liked art, and about two minutes after Ginny, Draco walked up and signed up as well. Ginny then heard Milliscent Bulstrode ask Malfoy, "Why are you signing up for the decorating when you don't need it? You already have an extra curricular activity; Quidditch, why waste your time on this?" Ginny, who was eve's dropping on her way out of the room, wanted to see Malfoy's response, so she turned her head around and heard him say, "I've suddenly gotten an interest in art." As he said these words, he looked intently at Ginny, so she turned back around and scurried away.
Right after the meeting, Ginny packed up a bag with her toothbrush and pyjamas that she would change into after her shower, and ran upstairs to the prefect washroom. Once she got to the statue of Boris the Bewildered, she knocked on the tall oak doors to check if anyone was in there. When no response came, she said the password, ('Soap suds'), and the door flew open. Ginny stepped inside and set her things down next to the pool-like tub. She turned around to close the door but she found that she didn't need to, because someone was already there, closing it for her.
"Malfoy," Ginny said with a cold sneer. Draco was leaning on the wall next to the door, and once he saw that Ginny was inside, he closed the door with an outstretched arm. He stood wearing nothing but silk black trousers and a sexy grin. He had apparently forgotten his shirt in his dormitory, along with his morals. "So what, now you're following me?" Ginny asked.
"Me? Follow you? Never Weasel! I just wanted to use the bathroom, but you stepped in before I could--"
"Cut the crap Malfoy," Ginny interrupted. "I don't care why you're here I just want you to get out. I need to shower and go to sleep and I can't do that with you in here."
"Oh?" Draco said, looking shocked. "Why not?? I promise I won't look. Besides, you're the one who said you wanted to snog in the bathroom remember?" Draco smiled cheekily and started walking around the tub to where Ginny was standing.
"I-I only said that stuff out of the heat of the moment. I d-didn't really mean it. Just like you didn't really mean what you s-said. Besides, I barely look at you in the halls anymore so w-why would you think that I would still w-want this? And even though--"
"You're wrong Ginny." Draco said, sounding a bit hurt, "I do love you. That wasn't just out of the heat of the moment, it was real. And I thought you were being real also, but I guess I was wrong." He began to walk towards the door, but before he reached the door-knob, he paused, turned around and started to walk back while saying, "You know what Weasel? I can finally see why Potter didn't, and still doesn't want you. After all, who would want to go out with a lying bitch who doesn't know how to really feel?" He was still walking as he said this and by the time he finished his sentence, they were just millimetres away from each other.
At these words, Ginny shot back, "You don't know what you're talking about Malfoy. I do know how to feel. Just because you haven't been lucky enough to see me 'express my feelings', doesn't mean I don't have any. So really you shouldn't ta--" But Draco couldn't take it anymore and he quickly leaned in for a kiss, seizing the moment.
He had half expected Ginny to push him away, but when all she did was kiss him back, he pulled her closer to him to deepen the kiss. He kissed her neck all the way down to her collar bone and then back up again. Once he returned to those luscious lips of hers, she had opened her mouth and was waiting for him to explore the depths of her jaws once again.
After three minutes of non-stop tongue wars, they broke apart panting heavily. Ginny was stunned. Part of her was disgusted with herself. Kissing Malfoy again?! How could she?? But the other part of her was overwhelmed with what had just happened. She couldn't believe she had let herself be swallowed into Malfoy's world, and mouth, yet again. She liked the feeling of his lips on hers. She liked the way his tongue would massage hers in ways no one else had ever done. She liked everything about every moment she spent with him, except for the fact that she spent it with a Malfoy. She loved what he did to her and hated him for doing it. Because when you enjoy something so much, you can't help but want to do it again. Like an addiction. Like a drug. He was her drug. And what he did to her got her high.
Ginny caught her breath and gazed into the depths of those amazing grey eyes. On the surface was evil, and a thirst to prove himself. But once she got a better glance, and looked deeper into his mind and body, she found hunger, a feeling she too was experiencing. A hunger for love, a hunger for pain, a hunger for any feeling whatsoever that could be experienced in only one way. So far this year, Ginny hadn't had a feeling such as this. Draco was half right in accusing her about her inability to feel, except he too didn't have that ability. They both knew that the only way to gain that feeling, was through what they were about to do. And you would never believe what they were about to do...
