She Hates Me

Met a girl, thought she was grand
fell in love, found out first hand
went well for a week or two
then it all came unglued

James Potter loved Lily Evans from the very day the met. It was strange. He was only eleven. But he knew that she was the one for him. And she seemed to like him. They both got sorted into Gryffindor House...

"Hi James," Lily said.

"Hi Lily," James said. He was blushing.

"Are you glad you got sorted in Gryffindor?" he asked.

"No, I wanted to be in Ravenclaw. I just made such good friends with that girl over there. Marlene. She's did get in Ravenclaw. Maybe I'm just different..." answered Lily.

"You are different, you are the most beautiful girl I've ever seen!" said James.

But they were interrupted by the meals showing up on the tables.

Two weeks later

"James, what have you and your friends done to poor Marlene?" Lily said.

"Nothing Evans. We just made her look so much nicer!" answered James matter-of-factly. "Why?"

"She just has to spend a whole week in the Hospital Wing because you, Sirius, Peter and Remus played that prank on her!"

"Yeah, it was all in a good day's work!" Sirius answered smiling.

"And remember what we did to Snivellus... the slimy git..." Peter said enthusiastically.

"What have you done to Severus?" Lily's green eyes were full of anger.

"Nothing special..." James said. He saw what was happening...

"Lets say he borrowed our special showergel!" Sirius said.

"I hate you, Sirius! And you too, James!"

She fucking hates me
I tried too hard
and she tore my feelings like I had none
and ripped them away

"She knew that I loved her. How could she hate me now. It was just a little prank, nothing special. It even didn't hurt his grades. And good grades meant much to Lily. And how much I try to make it up to her, she doesn't seem to like me one bit more," James told Remus, "Remus, maybe you should talk to her... she doesn't hate you!"

"I can do that, but I don't think it would make much different as she knows how close friends we are. I know she likes me, but I guess inside her heart she loves you. She just needs time to get over the pranks. It may take a while, but she'll get over it!" Remus said.

In a trapped trip I can't grip
never thought I'd be the one who'd slip
then I started to realise
I was living one big lie

"It was a big lie, I was living the big lie, most of my time at Hogwarts. Remus was right. Evans didn't hate me. She loved me! And she cured me of my pranking... well not totally, but I'm not going to tell her that! I was just having fun throughout school. Not too big a deal. She said she didn't like it because it meant that others were getting hurt at our expense. The expense of our laughter.

The fact that I saved Snivellus' life helped a great deal. Snivellus may still think I was in on Sirius' joke but I wasn't. It's just lucky I found it out in time. And lucky that Evans saw it happening. The look on her face when she couldn't believe me actually saving someone, and the wonder why Snivellus was going near to the Whomping Willow at all. Priceless!"

"I'm going to marry Evans, tomorrow! I'll be the luckiest man on the whole face of the earth. The luckiest man alive!"
