Ginny Weasley quietly tiptoed past the den in Number 12 Grimmauld Place. When she poked her head in, she saw the form of Harry Potter asleep on the leather couch. He had been there a few days, but hadn't talked to anyone. Despite their efforts, no one in the Order of the Phoenix or any of Harry's friends could get Harry to open up to them. Instead of heading to the kitchen for a midnight cup of tea, she decided to check on Harry.

Ginny quietly crept in to the den, and sat down on the couch, placing Harry's head on her lap. She glanced at one of his arms, and saw what any other person might mistake for cat scratches, but she knew better. Somehow Harry had found a razorblade or a small knife and had been cutting his wrists.

"Why must you do this to yourself?" she asked aloud, removing Harry's glasses from his face and putting them on a table. Ginny had cut herself after the Chamber of Secrets incident, and wasn't even sure why she herself did it. "You're so much better than this. You deserve better than this."

When your day is long

And the night

And the night is yours alone

When you think you've had enough

Of this life

Hang on

"Why don't you talk to us, to me?" Ginny asked. "I've been through this before. I can help you. I felt so guilty after the Chamber of Secrets incident. I felt responsible for everything that happened. I nearly killed four people. I felt especially horrible for hurting Hermione. You saved me Harry. You."

Don't let yourself go

Cause everybody cries

And everybody hurts

Sometimes

Sometimes everything is wrong

Now it's time to sing along

"If you're afraid of what we'll say," Ginny said, brushing a lock of hair out of Harry's eyes, "Don't be. If you're afraid that we'll ignore the truth and lie, don't be. I will never lie to you. Come straight out and say what's on your mind. Dumbledore will play you like a flute if you sit back and let him."

When your day is night

Hold on

If you feel like letting go

Hold on

If you're sure you've had too much

Of this life

Hang on

Cause everybody hurts

Sometimes

"You need to open up to someone," Ginny said. "Remus, Ron, Hermione, even," she paused, took a breath, then said, "Me. You can look for comfort in me. It's okay to be sad Harry. You just can't let go of your friends; we will never let go of you. You always play the savior, whether you want to or not. You can't save everyone all the time. Even heroes need a break, even they need to pause and take a breath. Let someone else do the saving this time. Let someone save you."

Take comfort in your friends

And everybody hurts

Don't throw your hand

Oh no

Don't throw your hand

If you feel like you're alone

No, no, no

You're not alone

Ginny absently began to run her fingers through Harry's hair. "Whatever you need me to do, I'll do. If you need someone to vent to, I'll listen. We care for you Harry, we really do. I told Hermione that I'd gotten over you." She smiled, despite no one being able to see her, and said, "Well, I lied. I just said that because I was trying to convince myself that I no longer had a crush on you."

If you're on your own

In this life

And days and nights are long

If you're sure you've had too much

Of this life

To hang on

"Sleep well," Ginny said, kissing Harry on his forehead. "Hopefully when you wake up, life will be better." She walked across the room, paused, turned around, then whispered, "I love you. Everything will be alright. You'll see."

Yeah everybody hurts

Sometimes

Everybody cries

Sometimes

So hold on

Hold on
