Draco stood on the dock, looking down the river as it vanished into the darkness on either side of him. Darkness that encased him, darkness that would never go away.

He turned the gun over in his hands.

Snorting on the inside, Draco marveled at how much he had changed. The old Draco Malfoy would never choose a gun. Far to 'muggle' for the proud pure-blood. But a gun it would be. Quite ironic really. Muggles were something the Malfoys despised, and yet it would be their creation which would end a Malfoy life.

He pulled a bullet from deep in his pocket.

Reflecting on the incidents that had led to this, Draco tried to pin point the moment that had changed him. Whether he was changed for better or for worse he did not know. He decided it was the moment Ginny Weasley had told him she trusted him.

With a trembling hand he loaded the revolver.

All Draco's thought now became centered on the red-haired Gryffindor. He would have never paired them in his mind, never thought such an odd couple would ever work. He had even disliked her, just for being a Weasley.

She was so much more now.

She was the only girl he would ever love.

She was the beautiful girl that had trusted him.

She was dead.

He raised the gun, its shiny barrel reflecting the moonlight.

It was HIS fault. She was gone because of HIM.

He looked at the moon.

The bright, innocent moon. It reminded him of Ginny. It shone among the stars as she shone among everyone. He remembered when they first kissed. It was a rainy Sunday and third years and above had a Hogsmede visit scheduled. Draco and Ginny were both prefects and had become sort of friends. He was walking down the main road in Hogsmede when he saw Ginny run crying from the bar. He followed her to a little abandoned cottage where she was sitting on the veranda. She looked up as he crossed the overgrown lawn.

'Oh, hello Draco,' she said, wiping away her tears.

'What's the matter?' said Draco. Was he genuinely concerned for a Weasley?

'It's just Ron, being a pain.'

'He's a git, don't worry about him.'

Draco sat down beside her and put his arm around her comfortingly. She even looked beautiful when she cried. Her pale face shone with tears. Shone like the moon.

The kiss itself was the kind that takes you to another world. It started to rain but they didn't notice. Hell there could have been a hurricane and Draco wouldn't have noticed. It was all-consuming and perfect.

No, it was too much! He couldn't bear to think about her any longer.

He raised the gun further and aimed at his heart.

The heart of the man who was responsible for Ginny's death.

Quickly and emotionlessly he squeezed the trigger.

There was silence on the dock. Slowly, Draco stood up and walked away.

Leaving behind the bound and limp body of his father.

Then man who was responsible for Ginny's death.
