Of all the things I've believed in

I just want to get it over with

She didn't want to go on. He's hurt her so many times already. But she had to do this, before she lost her nerve. She sat down at her desk and stared at the full moon, as she decided what she should right. Dear Draco...

Tears form behind my eyes

But I do not cry

Counting the days that pass me by

It's been too long. She shouldn't be attached to him. He was the one who broke up with her last year. But he was also the one who flirted with her, making her think they still had a chance. Oh, it made her all the angry feelings rise up again to think about the idiot she's been for wishing and hoping for a second chance.

I've been searching deep down in my soul

Words that I'm hearing are starting to get old

She knew she shouldn't have followed. She knew he was no good. She knew he'd break her heart. But not anymore. She picked up her quill again to continue writing. This is the last time you'll ever hear from me. When you find me, it will be too late. I will only be your past. She paused, momentarily thinking of her friends, how they tried to help her. How she yelled at them, even a few hours before, to stay out of her business. She wished she could tell them she was sorry.

It feels like I'm starting all over again

The last three years were just pretend

What is going to happen after this? It was a little terrifying, going into something she knew that she could never turn back once it happened.

And I said,

Goodbye to you

Goodbye to everything I thought I knew

You were the one I loved

The one thing that I tried to hold on to

I want to tell you that I did love you. You meant everything to me. Though you confused me so many times with your games, you were all that made sense. When we broke up, I didn't know what to do. But now, I understand everything. Everything that was in my head was wrong.

I still get lost in your eyes

And it seems that I can't live a day without you

She closed her eyes as she remembered all the good times they'd shared. All the feelings she knew she still had for him. But this was the way to go.

Closing my eyes and you chase my thoughts away

To a place where I am blinded by the light

But it's not right

I must do this now. Forgive me for any pain I cause. Tell my friends that I knew what I was doing. I love you. Ginny. She put down her quill and took the piece of parchment quietly up to the Astronomy Tower. She placed it in the small cubbyhole they'd found in the stone wall. They used to use it as a secret place for their notes to each other. She knew he would find it there. She crossed the room looked out into the night, admiring the moon once again. While she was there, she heard someone behind her take the piece of parchment out. It was him. She closed her eyes and wished for things to be different.

And it hurts to want everything and nothing at the same time

I want what's yours and I want what's mine

She wished that they were happily together. She wished he wasn't killing her like this. She wished she knew where her life was headed. She wished....She looked up into the constellations and found a star. I wish I could end all this pain, she thought. Well, that's one wish that will come true.

Another sound behind her. "Ginny..." She didn't turn around. She knew who it was. It was him. And he'd finished reading the parchment, the last parchment.

I want you

But I'm not giving in this time

She turned around for one last look. His face was a look of mass confusion and horror. "Goodbye, Draco," her face a mask of placidity. She stepped up onto the window ledge.

And when the stars fall

"No, Ginny! Don't!" Draco ran to her, knowing what was going to happen.

I will lie awake

She stepped out and joined the stars in the sky, leaving tears on Draco's face, as he realized too late, all the wrongs he'd done. "I love you, Virginia Weasley...now and forever. If we cannot be together on earth, may we be together in the heavens."

You're my shooting star

He took a deep breathe and followed his love.
