Author's Note:
Special thanks to my beta reader/muse Artemis Sprite for being the inspiration for Eva O'Clair. Without her, Eva's character wouldn't be nearly as cool as she is. Also, special thanks and a great big hello to Tara for being the inspiration for Miss Ruka D'Arcy.

A Wolf in Slayer's Clothing

Chapter Four:

Cookies and Promises

Sanura raced out of the infirmary and out of the school. She raced blindly across the grounds not sure where she was going. She was covered in blood and part of her felt sick to even think that she had done such a thing; the other part of her however wanted more. Finally running out of energy she collapsed to her knees just beside the lake. She howled in frustration and anger realizing that Eva was right. The potion had worn off. She wasn't human any longer. That thought was not what was bothering her though, the thought that bothered her the most was and I'm glad.

Eva watched in shock and disbelief at what Sanura had done. The potion had worn off completely, was Christian okay? One thought sprang to her mind.

"Isabella," she breathed as she too bolted from the room toward her quarters.

**~**~**~**~**

Eva opened the door to her quarters just in time to hear a high-pitched squeal come from the kitchen.

"Christian don't!" she screamed as she burst into the kitchen. There was her three-year-old daughter covered from head to toe in flour, squealing in delight. Christian was covered in flour as well and looked up in confusion as she burst through the door.

"Mommy wanna cookie?" Isabella said holding out a half eaten chocolate chip cookie. Eva numbly stumbled over to Isabella and hoisted her off the counter. Hugging her tightly, tears of relief falling from her eyes, she placed the child back on the counter top. "Mommy okay? What's wrong? Why are you sad mommy?" Isabella inquired.

Eva ran her hands through the small child's curly chestnut hair. Isabella's green eyes twinkled in confusion and concern for her mother. "Mommy's fine sweetheart," Eva said. "Why don't you go get ready to take a nice hot bubble bath and daddy'll be in shortly. Okay Bella?"

"Yes mommy," Isabella said giggling again. With Eva's help she hopped off the counter. Hugging her mother's knees, she traipsed off to get ready for her bath. As soon as she was not within earshot Eva told Christian what had happened.

"So you mean we're going to turn back too?" Christian asked after Eva had finished her tale.

"Yes I'm afraid so love," Eva said gently. "Don't worry, and don't get upset,"

"I'm not. I kind of liked being a vampire," he admitted reluctantly.

"Yeah, it did make sex a lot more interesting didn't it?" she said playfully. She grinned at him and he raised an eyebrow. "If you're thinking what I think you're thinking stop thinking, I have to go find Sanura,"

"Damn," Christian said jokingly. Eva hugged him tightly. "We need to discuss the little one,"

"Yeah, we can't turn and have her here..." Christian's thought trailed off and the mental image of him or Eva attacking her in a fit of bloodlust made them both cringe.

"Dumbledore'll know what to do," they said in unison. Eva hugged Christian and said, "If you start to see red or hear a pounding noise, run as far from Bella as you can."

"I will," Christian said nodding, "I promise."

**~**~**~**~**

Eva returned to the infirmary to find Severus Snape lying in the bed Sanura had vacated. He was muttering something about being a failure but she didn't care about him right now. She needed to talk to Dumbledore as soon as possible.

"Eva, is your daughter okay?" Dumbledore asked from behind her. It amazed her how the old man could pop up behind you as if he appeared from thin air.

"She's fine. I don't get it, why did Sanura turn back so quickly?"

"Well, I think I know, but..." Dumbledore began but Sirius, being much more outspoken and blunt took over the conversation.

"The poor dear hasn't been laid in god only knows how long!" Sirius said in exasperation. "You on the other hand," he smiled wickedly.

"What are you getting at Mr....Wait, who the hell are you anyway?"

"Black, Sirius Black. Transfiguration. And you are?"

"Pissed off," Eva shot back. "How do you know that Sanura's not..." Eva didn't finish. He had been in the room during her conversation earlier. "So you're telling me that I won't turn back if Christian and I continue to...um...fool around?"

"No."

"No?"

"I'm saying that vampire are naturally violent...Sanura is...overly frustrated right now and she and Severus have been fighting. All those negative emotions have caused the potion's effects to wear off more quickly," Dumbledore said before Sirius could go into his version of the explanation.

"So if we find her a...'friend'...then she'll turn back?" Eva asked as her cheeks flushed.

"No, the potion has worn off and besides Severus has done enough to all of you,"

"I wasn't..." Eva said but she stopped. "I guess it doesn't matter," Eva whirled around and looked at Severus angrily. "This is ALL YOUR FAULT! If you weren't so overly proper and arrogant and you hadn't treated her like a fucking trophy, or a walking sign of your manhood, she'd still be human!!" she stalked over to him and slapped him as hard as she could. "Rot in hell you slimy Slytherin bastard!"

"Eva," Dumbledore said quietly not stopping her from hitting Severus again. "Go find Sanura, she needs a friend now,"

"I can't go yet," Eva said. "I need to ask you...what should I do about Bella? When Christian and I change...I don't care if he attacks me, he's not attacking my baby,"

"I'll watch the rug rat," Sirius offered with a shrug. "How old is she?"

"Three,"

"A three year old rug rat can't be much trouble,"

"Remember you said that," Eva said. "But thank you Mr. Black,"

"Sirius, god call me Sirius," he said laughing. "Just so you know, I only get this mean when it comes to Snape, old habits die hard,"

"Understood," was all Eva said as she bolted from the room to look for Sanura.

Chapter Five:

Bloodlust

Sanura looked at her bloody reflection in the lake. She smiled at the water and inspected her new fangs. She realized that if she was not ready to feed the fangs were small and almost unnoticeable.

"I like it," Sanura told herself. Despite the fact that she was a slayer part of her always wanted to be a vampire. They had everything she had to work for and they were immortal. She wouldn't have to work out hours a day for the strength she had, she wouldn't have to train her hearing, and she could see at night better than a cat. All these things gave her the advantage she never had. She could become the ultimate predator.

"It's not so bad once you get used to it," she heard Eva say from behind her.

"I'm okay," Sanura said rising to her feet. Eva handed her a fresh set of robes that she had grabbed from Sanura's quarters before coming to look for her. Gratefully Sanura took them, throwing them over her head and shedding the bloody shirt she was wearing. Eva also handed her a bottle of the thirst suppressing serum. Gratefully she drank the potion. "This could be fun," she said a wicked grin spreading across her face. "What I don't understand is, why has the potion worn off for me but not you?"

Eva looked at Sanura and smiled. She gave Dumbledore's explanation and Sanura nodded. "That's really the only difference," Sanura said with a shrug. She walked back to the school with Eva in silence. As they entered the school they saw Dumbledore and McGonagall coming toward them.

"Are you going to fire us?" Sanura asked a frown forming on her face. Today had been bad; this is the only thing that could possibly make it worse.

"Of course not, you'll have your serum," McGonagall said with a small shrug. "But I must insist that you do not attack Severus again,"

"That wasn't my fault!" Sanura shrieked. "I didn't know that I was going to...and I tried to tell him to...but..." Sanura stopped in mid sentence.

"Sanura didn't know she was going to turn that quickly," Eva said coming to her defense, "she wasn't a vampire for very long, she didn't know the warning signs. And furthermore that sort of bloodlust isn't something that can be fought. Anyone that got in her way would have been killed. That's why Mr. Black is taking care of Bella for me,"

"You don't have to get so defensive Eva, we understand that this is a difficult transition for you. No one is in jeopardy of losing their job and I may stay in the school until after you and Christian completely change so there are no problems," Dumbledore said gently.

Hearing Christian's name made Eva remember that she had to tell him about the arrangements she made for Isabella. She brushed past McGonagall and Sanura followed her. Dumbledore and McGonagall just watched them walk away. As they neared Eva's quarters they heard Christian shouting and Isabella crying. Sirius Black stood in the doorway looking confused and angry.

"I'm not kidnapping your kid you idiot," Sirius said in an unusually calm voice. His face was drawn in a tight frown and he looked as if he wanted to push past Christian and take Isabella.

"You are not taking my daughter!" Christian hissed. Eva looked at him and realized that if she didn't stop this fight Christian would be changed completely and attack Sirius.

"Christian!" Eva yelled up the hall but he did not seem to hear her. She panicked and broke into a run. In her haste to reach Christian she tripped and fell.

"Go...get...Bella," Eva said looking up at Sanura, who was right behind her. "He's going to turn, I can feel it," Eva said.

Make the pounding noise stop. Eva heard in the back of her mind.

"Christian run now!" Eva screamed but she knew that it was too late for that now. Sanura broke into a run just as Christian bared his fangs and leapt at Sirius.

Chapter Six:

In Defense of a Rug Rat

Sirius had gone to Eva's to pick up her daughter but here he was, arguing with her husband Christian. He was about to give up and walk away when Christian leapt at him, baring fangs.

"Oh shit!" Sirius said stumbling backwards. As if by instinct Sirius transformed into Padfoot and began to fight off Christian. He grabbed him by his robes and began to drag him in the opposite direction of the now screaming child. Sanura darted into the room and scooped Isabella up from the floor. She ran out of the room, Isabella clutching her desperately, her eyes squeezed closed.

"Daddy! Daddy! What's wrong with daddy?" Isabella demanded between sobs. Sanura tried to comfort the child but knew that there was a more imminent danger she had to worry about. Her ears heard the sound of Christian's robes ripping. She gave Isabella to Eva who was running toward her.

"Take her and run," Sanura hissed. Eva cradled Isabella in her arms trying to sooth her. Sanura turned around to see Christian's robes rip completely and he was running toward Eva and Isabella, fangs bared, and a hunger for blood in his eyes. Sanura reacted, as she knew she should. Fighting tooth and nail, fangs bared, ready to do whatever it took to protect Eva and her daughter.

Sirius was running toward them, still in dog form, and grabbed Christian's robes again. This gave Eva the opportunity she needed. Darting between the wall and Sirius she ran into her quarters.

"Go into mommy's room and lock the door," she told Isabella who obediently scampered into her mother's room, slamming and locking the door behind her. Eva ran into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of blood from the refrigerator. She was happy that she had purchased some from Hogsmeade just two days before. Not stopping to breath she ran out into the hallway. Sanura, Sirius, and Christian were still fighting and it looked as if Sanura would have to kill him.

"Sanura, catch!" Eva screamed. She threw the bottle and miraculously Sanura caught it. Opening it with her teeth she threw the blood in Christian's face. She then shoved the bottle into his mouth and stood back. Sirius, noticing what Sanura had done, backed off as well but was prepared to strike if he felt he had to.

**~**~**~**~**

Isabella cowered under her mother's bed, shaking uncontrollably. She wished her mommy would come back and tell her what was wrong. She had been sitting in the living room coloring in a coloring book when a tall man with shiny and long black hair had come to the door. Her daddy looked quite displeased but Isabella paid no attention. Daddy could take care of anything. Her father had begun to yell and scream and she had hid behind the couch. Only when she heard the unmistakable growl of a dog did she look again. The man was gone and a humungous black dog was pulling at her daddy's robes. She began to sob wishing her daddy would stop looking at her like he wanted to bite her. Confused she was quite relieved when Auntie Sanura had rushed into the room, scooping her up and holding her tightly. Things got even scarier when they had gone into the hallway. Auntie Sanura had given her to her mother but then they had run into their room and here she was hiding under the bed. She wished her mommy or Auntie Sanura would come back and give her a hug. She needed a hug. She was so scared. She silently began to scream when she saw the bedroom door open.
