The Boy is Mine

Lily sighed as she walked through the halls. Just because I didn't feel like finishing my homework. Oh well. She walked up to her common room finding her two best friends Persephone and Diana in the corner. She scowled to see how many girls were smitten with James Potter.

Mr. Popular, smart, charming, makes other girls melt kind of thing. I just hate it, she said to herself. Him and his other band of weirdo's were all like that. Except Remus and Peter, but Peter was a geek and Remus is just plain nice. Persephone had a crush on him.

People thought he was crazy. Persephone was the smart, pretty and funny part of the group. She was tall, African-American, with long down to waist caramel hair. People say she looks a lot like Beyounce Knowles, who is drop dead beautiful. Even Lily had to wonder...

"What's up with you?" said a far off Diana. She had red hair also, but brown eyes and kind but overweight. Persephone looked up from her homework. Lily didn't realize it, but she was staring at James.

" Oh jeez," said Persephone. For weeks they have taunted her about James. I don't like him she has told them countless times. He had a bunch of girls on his tail he wouldn't waist his time with her....

"Earth to Lily," called Diana for the fifth time. "Jeez your like my dad." She never got to finish because she had to duck as Lily threw a pillow at her head.

" Are you alright Lily?" said Persephone in a whisper.

"I'm fine you guys," she told them for what seemed like the tenth time that day. "I just got homework on my mind." Her friends didn't say anything, but kept throwing her side-glances. For the past month Lily has been acting strange, gazing into just nothing.

"Guys, I'm going down to visit Aurora I'll be back soon." She got up and walked across the room.

" Okay..." Persephone and Diana said together.

Lily walked down a flight of stairs and had to run from Peeves to get to the Owlery. She had gotten a beautiful snow owl last Christmas, and the bird was more clever then even Lily knew.

"Am I pretty?" she asked the owl, knowing it could not answer back. Lily studied herself. She had shoulder length red hair, short, thin, and brilliant green eyes. Still even though, she asked Diana and Persephone a billion times she still doubted herself.

Walking down from the owlery Lily heard some voices. She quick hid behind a corner and listened. It was Veronica and Amber; they were popular, always had the best clothes and always had boyfriends. They were known for playing boys and turning against you like that. There was a time where they tried to get Persephone to join them, but Persephone could see right through them. Lily considered these two bitch slytherins enemies.

" So anyway do you think it will work?'' came Amber's voice. She was a noises auburn hair girl who was Veronica's sidekick.

" Of course, you idiot," snapped Veronica. " I'm the hottest girl in the year, of course he'll go with me."

" I don't know.."

" Listen, once we get James Potter on our side, there will be no stopping our popularity. All I have to do is ask him to the Halloween dance, flirt, get dates for his other bad of Marauders, and it will be final."

"Oh can I go with Sirius Black?! He is so fine."

" Whatever."

Lily finally heard them walk away. She hated everything about those two. Veronica had long blond hair, and rather pointy nose, brown eyes and it was so obvious that she stuffed. But...

What about James? I have to tell him, but those girls will kill me!

" Lily, what are you going to do?" said Persephone. She only told her because Diana's a big mouth. "There's only one thing I don't understand, you hate James right?"

"Right"

"Why are you so concerned?"

Lily didn't say anything. Though Persephone guessed the truth.

" I won't tell anybody," she finally said.

" Thank You," whispered Lily and left the room.

She went into the halls and to Astronomy tower. The sky was filled with stars and the bright moon was giving just enough light to shine on the grounds. Why did Persephone have to make me say that? Well maybe I do like him...

She looked up into the stars and said

"The Boy is Mine."
