My apologies if the title is spelled wrong in a few places. I realize that the story is slightly different than the real Romeo and Juliet but its my fic so there!

A Montague and a Capulet

Ron pulled away from Hermione and looked down at her with stunned eyes. He searched for words to sooth the increasingly worried look on her face.

"Hermione? I...er...what in bloody hell are we going to do?"

"And what is that supposed to mean?"

"No, please don't get mad. I just meant how are we going to deal with this? I mean what will Harry think? And things are going to have to be all different now...and Fred and George will give me hell for this...and...."

"You know something, Ron, your right. It seems that being with me will only be trouble for you. Forget about what just happened, Ron. If you don't want things to change, then they won't." Hermione's eyes sparked as she spat at Ron. She pulled away from him sharply and began to back away. "I'm going to bed. This night can't get much better."

She stomped away hurriedly and Ron stared after her with a conflicted mood about his face. Harry glanced over to see Ron looking as though he was strongly inclined to shove a basilisk up his nose rather than be there. Harry regretfully pulled away from the dance with Luna Lovegood and coerced him out of the room.

"Come on," Harry said, "let's go find Ginny and head up to bed. You can tell me what happened later."

"Alright," he sighed, "I think she's in the garden."

Though the kiss barely lasted a minute, Ginny felt her insides turn to lava. She pulled away and looked into the gray eyes of the Slytherin. She had lost all sense of logic and was living strictly in the present; forgetting all that would happen if they were discovered.

"I can't believe I just did that," she said.

"Neither can I," Draco added. He suddenly felt more vulnerable than he had ever felt in his life. All his father's teachings about remaining strong and cruel had faded from his being. He only knew the flecks of her eyes and taste of her lips. He felt so out of himself; so out of character. No logic existed in him anymore. He was still young and felt more so than ever; he could do anything and it didn't matter.

"Draco, what doest thou...I mean you want to do with this. We can go out but it means that we will have to put up with so much and it is so sudden and I don't really know you that well and if you love me you have to swear by something to prove it. " Draco was slightly confused as to how to answer this.

"Well I will swear by the moon?!"

"The moon?"

"Yeah sure...that fucking moon!"

"NO! Don't swear at the moon, swear by it. Whatever, forget it; the moon changes all the time and that will mean that so will your love for me." Draco thought of saying something about the love comment but didn't. He didn't disagree with her and he felt that if this emotion he felt towards her was anything, it was love. Ginny rose from her seat to look down at Draco.

"Well then what shall I swear by?"

"Just don't swear at all," she said, but had to give in from the pleading gaze Draco was sending her. "Swear by yourself then."

"Draco, you fucking idiot!"

"FORGET IT!"

"Ginny will you go out with me?"

"Yes!" He rose from the bench and began kissing her again, but their bliss was halted from a sound resounding in the distance. Ron's voice was approaching rapidly.

"Ginny!" he called. The two frantically moved out of sight.

"What time will I meet you at The Three Broomsticks tomorrow?"

"Nine o'clock!"

"I'll be there even if it takes me twenty years to get there."

"A thousand times goodnight," she said as she backed away towards the gardens exit. They heard Ron's booming voice belt again and they kissed one last time before she left him there. Standing there alone in the cold he gazed up at the sky.

"Separation from her is such painful pleasure, I'll say goodbye until the hours are of great measure." (Move over Shakespeare!)

"Time for bed, Ginny," said Ron with a sigh. Harry and Ginny tagged behind Ron on the journey up to the common room. The two eyed each other upon noticed how Ron was so violently ascending the stairs.

The Portrait hole swung open and Ron climbed in, followed by Harry and Ginny. Hermione was sitting in a chair by the fire, still in her gown though her hair was back to its normal consistency. She and Ron's eyes met but they pulled away quickly. Harry leaned in close to Ginny so that his breath was caressing her temple.

"Better leave them to it," he whispered. "I'm gonna' go write a letter to Lupin," Harry stated loud enough for the others to hear. When Harry and Ginny had left the room, Ron sat down in a couch next to Hermione. An awkward silence hung in the air for a minute or two.

"Mione- " Ron began to say, but she interrupted him too quickly.

"What?"

"Look, if you want to be mad at me then go ahead, but that doesn't change the fact that I like you and I want to be with you. I'll wait for you Hermione and that's no trouble." He rose from the chair and began walking towards the stairs. He was stopped suddenly by two arms wrapping around his waste. He could feel her head pressed up against his back.

"Do you want to dance?"

"What? But, Hermione there's no music." He turned around to face her and looked deeply into her eyes.

"Oh, for Merlin's sake, Ron, I am a wizard you know!" She pulled her wand out from her robes and flicked it twice, saying a spell under her breath. A soft tune rose in the atmosphere and, together, the Mudblood and the weasel danced, alone, into the night.
