The Necklace

Harry told Hermione to go back and look after Ron. They were to make their way to the owlery and get a message off to Dumbledore as quickly as possible. Harry would go for the stone. After Harry left, Hermione went back to tend Ron. He had taken a nasty fall from the Knight chess piece after the white queen attacked him. They needed to win the game for the right to move on to the next obstacle. As Ron stirred Hermione noticed shards of the chess piece lying about him. She picked up several of them and placed them into the pocket of her sweater. Ron started to come to his senses. He hadn't seen what she had done.

When the philosopher's stone adventure had come to its end and all was well, Hermione went to her dorm room. She sat down on the end of her bed. She was very tired. She looked about her room and then placed her hand in her pocket and pulled out the shards and slowly turned them round in her hand. She began to think of Ron's willingness to sacrifice himself to help Harry move on toward capturing the stone. She had protested his act of bravery and yelled to him that there must be another way. Ron pointed out to her that this was the only way. She bit her lower lip as she and Harry watched Ron give the command for the knight chess piece to move into position. She could tell he was frightened and yet he continued on with the move. She would never forget his bravery. This moment would always be a part of her. This moment was also the beginning of the special feelings she was now having toward Ron. She took the shards in her hand and stared at them, as if she was in a trance. She rose from her bed, walked over to her wardrobe, where she kept a small wooden box in which she placed special items. She opened it and placed her new treasure in it and then closed the lid.

She went to her bed and lay down. She began to let her thoughts pass through the open gate of her mind. She stopped at one thought and began to giggle. She thought of how happy she was to have brought back the shards instead of hairs from Fluffy. Fluffy just being in her thoughts was enough. She would have to write a note in her daily planner to remind herself to forget Fluffy. She also thought about sneaking over to Hagrids while he was asleep and trim his beard as punishment for keeping such a ferocious beast about Hogwarts. Her thoughts began to drift and soon she was sleeping.

The next day, she and Ron went to the hospital wing to visit Harry. He had to spend a night there to recover from his injuries. When they arrived at the wing, he was still sleeping. They had brought him some treats, but since he was not awake they decided to leave them there. Ron wanted to sample some of the treats, but Hermione slapped his hand and told him no. They decided they could talk to Harry later, so they left.

Later in the day, Harry awoke. After a conversation with Headmaster Dumbledore, he began to enjoy the treats left to him. Soon after, he was able to get up and get dressed and leave the hospital wing. Later he found Ron and Hermione and together they went to the Gryffindor common room to talk of their adventure looking for the stone. Hermione said nothing about the shards. While they were talking, Hermione would give Ron some long glances, which made him a little nervous. She was still thinking of how brave he was, oh and of course Harry too.

After some time passed they went to their dorm rooms to get prepared for the year-end feast. There was joy mixed with sadness however, because they were certain that Gryffindor had not done well for the winning of the house cup. It was even possible that their house would be in last place. Before leaving, Harry began to repeat the words, not Slytherin, not Slytherin.

At the feast they learned that Gryffindor had indeed placed last. To add to their frustration, they had to endure the haughty looks of Draco Malfoy as his house, Slytherin had won the cup. Harry thought that if only he had the sorting hat on his head when he repeated not Slytherin, that just maybe they might not have won the cup. However, after further thought he realized how silly this was. Harry's sadness was turned to joy after Professor Dumbledore awarded last minute points to Gryffindor. With the new points added to their score, Gryffindor was now in first place and had won the house cup. The smirk on Malfoy's face had turned to pure hatred.

After a few hours of fun and celebration it was time to go to bed. Almost everyone was excited, because the next day they were going home for the summer. Ron and Hermione were so excited they could hardly contain themselves. Harry, on the other hand was not excited at all. He hated returning to the Dursleys. They were mean and nasty to him. They were also very non-supportive of him being a wizard. He had talks with Hermione about his home away from Hogwarts. Hermione thought the Dursleys were just plain monsters. In contrast, Hermione's parents who were also non-magical folk were very supportive of their daughter and loved her very, very much. In return, Hermione not only loved them very much, but also had great respect for them because they did their best to blend both worlds.

The next day they stood next to the Hogwarts Express waiting to board it to take them home. Ron and Hermione felt excitement, while Harry felt the familiar dread entering him again. He almost resented them for their joy. Nevertheless, they were his closest friends and he knew he should be happy for them. What joy it must be to arrive at home were your mum and dad would be waiting for you with open arms and loads of love. He sighed. Ron and Hermione noticed his melancholy. They both stood at opposite sides took his arms in theirs and hoisted him up the stairs and into an open compartment. They plopped down on a seat and then broke out in laughter.

The train ride to Kings Cross was uneventful. When they alighted from the train they stood together looking for the familiar faces of their loved ones coming to pick them up and take them home. Ron and Hermione quickly saw their parents and called to them. Everyone came together and greeted one another. Harry looked about with less enthusiasm. His eyes finally fell on the scowling face of his Uncle Vernon. He walked up to the Weasleys and the Grangers and said nothing. He looked up and down at them as if they were rubbish. He yelled at Harry, calling him a good for nothing weirdo. The Weasleys and the Grangers tried to be polite and say hello, but he just twitched his nose at them and called them all freaks. He then turned around and walked away from them telling Harry to hurry up and come with him or he could walk back to their home.

The Weasleys and the Grangers were horrified at such a cad and immediately felt an ache in their hearts for poor Harry having to deal with this man who looked like a hundred pounds of blubber stuffed into a twenty pound bag. His head was also ginormous. Ron was deeply angry and Hermione was in tears. Finally, Ron gave in to his anger and picked up a small rock to throw at Uncle Vernon. However, Mr. Weasley grabbed his arm and told him no. Then Mr. Weasley took the rock and said to Ron, "Let me instead." He flung the rock with great accuracy and hit the wobbling Uncle Vernon in the head. He turned around rubbing the back of his head and tried to figure out who threw it, but the Weasleys and the Grangers turned their heads and pretended to have a conversation. Ron told his dad the throw was bloody brilliant and Hermione was laughing so hard she could hardly catch her breath. They all said goodbye to each other. Hermione gave several short glances at Ron. She realized at that moment how much she was going to miss him over the summer. She wondered if he would miss her. She slowly turned around to walk with her parents. As she was walking away she made one more turn to look at him and to her surprise he was just standing there looking at her. He gave her a wave of his hand and then turned around and followed his parents.

When the Grangers arrived at their home, Hermione burst through the door and looked at everything like it was the first time she had ever seen it. Mrs. Granger came in followed by Mr. Granger toting Hermione's trunk from school. Unfortunately there were no house elves to bring the trunk up to Hermione's room so, Mr. Granger was elected as an honorary house elf. He set the trunk down in the living room to catch his breath. Hermione wanted it brought to her room quickly. Her father looked at her and then said that it would take a person with great power and strength to bring it up. So he said to Hermione with a big grin on his face that he would help her hoist it on to her back and then she could bring it up to her room. Hermione was not amused. She twisted her mouth, crossed her arms in front of her, and then tapped her foot. Mr. Granger knew her temper only too well. He then looked at Mrs. Granger and then they both looked at Hermione. When they did this, they all broke out in laughter. Finally, Mr. Granger hoisted the trunk up the stairs, set it down in its normal place and went down the stairs to a well-earned glass of ice tea.

While he was doing this, Hermione stood still thinking how good it was to be home with its familiar rooms and smells. After her father came down from her room Hermione went up to it. She took a moment and looked at her comfortable, fluffy bed. A flash came to her mind, fluffy indeed, she was thankful that her bed was fluffy comfy not fluffy the three headed beast. She turned round and dropped back onto her bed, landing with a bounce. She felt the softness of the bed envelope her. She rolled over and gathered her pillow about her head and began to doze. A light breeze passing through her open window fluttered the curtains and brought her out of her short slumber. She opened her eyes and looked next to her pillow. Lying there was her one and only stuffed animal, a bear that she called Mr. Pooki. No one at Hogwarts or any one else knew of Mr. Pooki, except her parents who were sworn to secrecy. If anyone found out, especially her friends at Hogwarts, it would be a scandalous spicy crumb. She sighed, it was so good to be at home and yet she felt a slight ache in her heart for her friends and studies at Hogwarts. After careful analysis she came to the conclusion that while at Hogwarts she missed her home, mum and dad, and of course Mr. Pooki. However, when at home she missed Hogwarts, Ron, Harry, and her studies. One thing she found different at this time was that her thoughts of Ron had moved her love of study to second or maybe third. Ron had been on the main current of her thoughts now. She was still trying to figure out her friendship with Harry.

She rolled over and stared at the ceiling of her room. She rolled over again and took Mr. Pooki into her arms. She snuggled her face close to his. She had never thought about a boy in a romantic setting before. Well, she recalled that as a little girl she had a crush on her neighbor boy whose name was Lad Ooser. She rolled her eyes at the thought of him. He wasn't her knight in shining armor. Instead he was a L.Ooser. She also recalled that he had a disgusting habit of picking his nose. She looked at Mr. Pooki and told him that Lad's parents should have named him Bastion Booger instead. What picker power he had. No she thought I would trade in the color green for the color red.

She slowly rose from her bed. She gave Mr. Pooki a hug and then a snog on the nose. She placed him gently down on to her bed. She went to her trunk and began searching for her treasure box. When she found it she took it over to her dresser and sat it down. She slowly lifted the lid and took out the shards and gazed at them. Her mother's voice broke into this silent moment calling her to come down stairs and eat dinner. She looked at the shards once more and then lightly kissed them. She returned them to the box and then went down to eat.

She entered the kitchen. She was so hungry she could eat one of Hagrid's biscuits. Well, she thought maybe not that hungry. Since it was late afternoon her mother didn't have the time to prepare one of her fabulous meals. Instead she served up some bangers and mash. There was also a large bowl of peas with big slabs of melting butter. For an instant Hermione stared at the green peas and thought of Lad Ooser, alias Bastion Booger. Oh, she thought, he stills haunts me.

She helped her mother set the dining room table. Her mother called for Mr. Granger to come and eat. He was sitting on the throne in the thunder box, reading an article in the new issue of his dental magazine, entitled "Is your breath so bad it could bend steel?" After hearing several calls to come and eat, he reluctantly put the magazine in its holder. He got himself ready for his grand entrance and went out to the dining room. When he arrived he gave a look over the placement of the food and other things and told Mrs. Granger and Hermione how wonderful everything looked. What they both loved about this is that they knew that Mr. Granger really meant it. He gave them both light kisses and then they sat down to eat.

While they were eating Mr. and Mrs. Granger told Hermione how happy they were to have her home for the summer. Hermione told them it was good to be back. After dinner, they enjoyed dishes of ice cream. When they were done eating all three of them gathered up the dishes, took them to the kitchen and washed them, dried them, and put them a way. When this was done, they poured some tea into cups and went into the living room for a night of peace and conversation.

As time moved on, Hermione rose from her chair walked over to her parents and gave them each a hug and kiss. She took her parents tea cups as well as her own took them into the kitchen and placed them into the sink. Before she glided up stairs to her room she dutifully went into the bathroom and brushed her teeth. With both of her parents being dentist she could not get away from this practice. When she was finished she went up to her room. She slowly undressed and got into her jammies. She turned toward her nightstand where she kept a massive book for light reading. After some thought she opted against reading and decided to crawl under the covers and cuddle with Mr. Pooki. Before getting into bed, she walked over to her open window and stared into the night sky, and then whispered a good night to Ron. She lay down on her bed and soon fell asleep.

Morning arrived. Hermione awoke. She gave a few yawns and a bloody good stretch and then got out of bed. She lightly placed Mr. Pooki by her pillow. She decided to let her hair go, to let it be free and bushy as usual. She went down stairs and into the kitchen. Although, both of her parents were dentists, her mother decided to take a few days off to spend with Hermione. Mrs. Granger was making breakfast. Mr. Granger had already left for work. Mrs. Granger told Hermione that she was going to be about the house for awhile. She told Hermione that she should eat something and then go outdoors and sit in the swing and enjoy the lawn, flowers and the trees. Mrs. Granger would soon join her.

After eating her breakfast, Hermione went up the stairs to her room and got dressed. She walked over to her dresser. She opened her wooden box and took out the shards and held them tight in her hand. She then ran down the stairs and out the door to the back yard. She sat down on the swing and began to enjoy all that was around her. It was such a calm and peaceful setting that she began to feel a calm and peace within herself. There was a slight breeze that made some leaves dance across the lawn. She noticed a squirrel twittering merrily as it scampered past her. She also heard insects buzzing about the flowers in the soft wind.

The birds were all about the bath, looking like a bunch of gossips chirping about the morning events. They dipped their peaks and chirped on and on. Hermione giggled at them. She looked up and saw a wren sitting on a perch on a tree. The cool wind made the branch sway slowly back and forth. She took a deep breath and took it all in. There was such a wonderful tranquility in this whole scene unfolding before her eyes.

She then looked down and opened her hand to cast a glance at the shards. She looked up and thought of Ron. In a way she wished that he were with her now, enjoying the trees, the birds, and everything else. She admitted to herself that she really missed him. Perhaps later she would owl him.

As time moved on, Mrs. Granger joined Hermione. They both sat on the swing enjoying the various scenes before them. The squirrel had left, but the birds were still about the bath gossiping away. Both Hermione and her mother laughed at them. They then began a conversation. Their talk covered various topics. Then their talks hovered over boys. Hermione was blushing over this subject. She wasn't sure if she should tell her mother about Ron and the shards. However, after quick analysis of the situation she decided that she would talk to her mum about Ron. She really did want to share her feelings about Ron to another girl and after all her mum was once a girl.

Before she could tell her mum about Ron, her mum asked her if there was anyone special in her life at school. Hermione really blushed at the question, but then proceeded to tell her mother about Ron and the shards. She also explained about their adventure in seeking the stone. To her surprise, her mum did not react hysterically about all of the dangers they had faced. Hermione thought that just maybe her mum had accepted these dangers as a normal part of school life and the magical world around it.

Her mother could sense that Ron was indeed special to her daughter and encouraged her to tell her more about him. Hermione did talk about him a bit; however, her main focus was on how she couldn't get him out of her mind. She told her mum that it was difficult for her to take some steps back and get a good perspective on it all. She told her that Ron was like a fine dust that settled on her. When she thought of him, which was almost every moment, that dust would lift and whirl about her. There were times she thought she had succeeded in expelling him from her mind and then all of a sudden his image would run through her like a strong, warm current that would tingle her inner being.

Her mother listened with great attentiveness. When Hermione stopped talking, her mother began to respond to what she was telling her. Mrs. Granger told Hermione that she was correct in trying to take some steps back and understand her feelings about him. She encouraged her to take her relationship with Ron slow and to really get to know him before she committed herself to anything. She also told her that she needed to find out how he felt about her. Above all she advised her to just be friends for now and maybe through spending time with each other they might discover that they fancy each other. Their mother/daughter talk made the time swiftly pass. Before they realized it dusk, like a soft mist upon the evening shore, had arrived. The clouds swept over with their shadows and dark hollows. They seemed to glide along and chase the sunny ridges away. Twilight began to blush.

Soon Mr. Granger returned from his dental practice. The ladies decided not to tell him what they had talked about during day, because he was terribly protective of his daughter. If he found out that Hermione had a special man in her life besides him, he might become unglued. They would eventually tell him, but this didn't seem to be the right moment. Neither of them had ate very much during the day, so they were all hungry, especially Hermione who wanted to play a good knife and fork right then. Mr. Granger decided to take his two ladies out for dinner. Hermione and her mother agreed it was a good plan, especially because he was paying for it.

They went to a really nice restaurant and had a fine dinner. There was a lot of conversation and laughter. Nevertheless, both Hermione and her mother kept silent about Ron and the shards. After dinner, they took a drive around town. As they were passing by shops and stores, Hermione's eyes kept focusing on the jewelry shops. An idea formed in her mind and she quickly got out her daily planner (Don't leave home without it) and wrote down her idea for future reference.

They slowly made their way home. When they arrived, Mrs. Granger went to the kitchen and put some tea on the boil. Hermione thanked her father for the wonderful meal and then went up to her bedroom. She immediately went to the wooden box and took out the shards. She then sat down in a chair by her bed, turned on her reading light, and opened her daily planner. She wrote down some thoughts. She began to roll the shards in her hand. A smile came to her face. Her concentration was broken when her father called up to her to come down and take some tea with them. She was mildly annoyed at the interruption; nevertheless the shards and the plan she was forming had to wait. Besides, she loved having tea with her parents.

As the night moved on, Hermione became increasingly tired. Soon it would be time to say goodnight. However, before bed and Mr. Pooki, Hermioine asked her mother if they could go shopping the next day. Her mum agreed to her request and then asked her if there was any place in particular she wanted to go to. Hermione smiled and said yes. She took the empty teacups, brought them to the kitchen sink and washed them out. She went back into the living room, hugged and kissed both of her parents and then said goodnight.

The sun turned on its light early. Hermione and her mum enjoyed breakfast. Again, Mr. Granger had already left for the office. After they cleaned up they got ready and left for town. They drove about and found a jewelry shop called "Pirates Loot." They parked and then went in. They met a man in the shop who turned out to be the owner. However, when he told them his name Hermione smiled and then turned her mother about and pushed her through the door. When her Mrs. Granger questioned her as to why she did this, Hermione told her there was no way she was going to trust a man named Felton Malfoy. She wasn't sure if he was related to another Malfoy she knew, but she wasn't taking a chance. She later explained to her mum why she didn't trust the owner.

After some searching they finally found a place called "The Golden Ingot." They met the owner whose name was Percy Pringle Silverbowl. Hermione took out the shards and showed them to Mr. Silverbowl. She asked him if a necklace could be made with them and after careful examination of some of the shards he told her that one could be made. With her mother's guidance and financial aide Hermione selected white gold for the necklace. Mr. Silverbowl asked Hermione to give him the rest of the shards. She reluctantly gave them to him. However, she kept a few back so she would have them to put in her wooden box for a keepsake. Mr. Silverbowl told them that the necklace would be ready in about four day's time. They thanked him and then left the shop.

After some walking about the city, they decided to make their way to their car and then go and see Mr. Granger at the office. When they arrived at the office, Mr. Granger had just finished working on his last patient of the day. After tidying up, he left with Hermione and Mrs. Granger to return to their home. As they were traveling, Hermione decided to tell her father about the shards, the necklace, and Ron. To her delight, he took it pretty well. She knew from experience that her father defended her with all of his being and surely she thought that he would become knocked on the head when he found out what she was doing at a jewelry store. On the other hand he did say that he thought the necklace was rather grand to give to a boy whose feelings she wasn't sure about. Nevertheless, when she told him more details about the shards, Mr. Granger thought it was very thoughtful of her and added that he thought this Ron Whizzley was a rather brave chap. Hermione laughed at the error and then corrected him on how to say Ron's last name. When they arrived at their home, they enjoyed another nice evening together. As the night went on, Hermione had to field more of her father's questions about this Ron Whatnot. Hermione spit out her tea as she laughed at her father's new name for Ron. Her mother sat back and enjoyed the conversation without speaking a word.

The days slowly passed. Finally, the telephone rang and it was Mr. Silverbowl informing her that the necklace was ready to be picked up. Hermione and her mother went to fetch it. Hermione was driving her mother zonkers, so Mrs. Granger put her foot to the boards and they flew to the jewelry shop. When they arrived, Mr. Silverbowl went to the back of the shop and brought with him a long black velvet covered box. When he opened it, Hermione nearly fainted. It was absolutely the best bib and tucker she had ever seen. It was splendid. Having already paid for the necklace, Hermione and her mother thanked Mr. Silverbowl for his fine work and then left. On their way back home, Mrs. Granger asked Hermione if she was hungry. Hermione told her mother no, because she was too excited to eat. She wanted to get back home and sit down in a chair and admire the necklace. As they were traveling, she started to daydream about the different scenarios of how Ron would react to her giving it to him. She told herself she would wait for a special occasion to give it to him, but she knew this was going to be very difficult because she wanted to give it to him right away. Whatever that occasion was, she didn't know, so she would have to wait until the right moment presented itself.

The days had passed quickly and the nights were seldom long. Soon it was time to prepare for another year at Hogwarts. Hermione and her parents decided to take a trip to Diagon Alley to purchase school supplies. Hermione loved this, but entering into the world of magic made her parents nervous. However, it was necessary and they faced their fears with courage and went. When they arrived, Hermione guided them to a bookstore. She thought they would be comfortable there. After this, she took off to see if there were any new shops that may have appeared.

After a good stretch of the legs Hermione stopped to look into a store window. After she was done looking in the window she started to walk again. As she walked around a corner she ran right into Harry and Hagrid. She was very excited to see them. They were happy to see her too. After a brief conversation, Hagrid needed to leave them. He told them he would see them later at the school. At this point she noticed that Harry's glasses were broken and once again she came to his rescue and touched them with her wand and repaired them. Hermione then looked about to see if Ron was any were near, but to her disappointment he wasn't to be found. However, Harry did tell her that he was around somewhere and this made her happy.

They began walking together when they came upon a large crowd. They were standing outside the bookstore that Hermione had left her parents in. Hermione became instantly worried that something might have happened to them. She and Harry forced their way through the crowd and entered into the bookstore. She was relieved to see her parents talking with the Weasleys. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were very kind to her parents, especially Mr. Weasley, who asked and asked them questions about muggle ways. She also saw Ron and when she did, she turned pink. She had been thinking so much of him during the summer that to see him in the flesh was kind of a shock. She thought he looked so handsome.

All of a sudden, out of nowhere, appeared the most gorgeous man she had ever seen. She almost swooned. Right then and there, she wished he were Mr. Pooki so she could snuggle and cuddle with him. His name was Gilderoy Lockhart. He was a beefcake she thought. She wished she could go back in time and relive the moment she first set her eyes on him. At this point, all thoughts of Ron vanished.

As they approached, Lockhart saw Harry and knowing him to be a celebrity in the wizarding world, he grabbed him and pulled him next to him. The cameras were clicking endlessly. Lockhart was giving the cameras a very toothy smile, while Harry wished he were somewhere else. He looked at Hermione for help, but she looked like she was in some kind of trance. When all of this was over, Lockhart gave Harry his entire collection of books he had written. Harry was not impressed. He felt that something didn't add up about Lockhart, but he couldn't put a finger on it. To his dismay and Hermione's delight they learned that Lockhart was going to be their Defense Against The Dark Arts professor. When the crowd dispersed, Harry gave all of the books to Ginny Weasley, Ron's younger sister. Ginny was starting her first year at Hogwarts. After some time they all left to go back to their homes. To Hermiones delight, Harry was going back with the Weasleys to their home.

The next morning they were all at Kings Cross ready to board the Hogwarts Express to take them back to school. After hugs and kisses with her parents, Hermione, being very punctual, was already on the train. Ron and Harry, as usual, were very late. There are really no great happenings to write about after this, oh yes, they couldn't get through to the 9 ¾ platform, so they flew Mr. Weasley's car to the school. They were almost killed by the Whomping Willow, and then they received a tongue lashing from their favorite professor, Professor Snape. Harry and Ron both wishing at that moment that Madam Pomfrey would cut off his large nose and then sew it on upside down so he would drown when it rained. Other then those minor settings nothing much happened. Of course, Hermione, was not happy with them for getting into so much trouble in the very beginning of the year. She thought that at least they could wait until the middle of the term. Nevertheless, as time moved on she had decided that they had been punished enough and began to talk to them again.

As classes began, Ron and Harry had a runner up to the dreaded professor Snape, Gilderoy Lockhart. Indeed, most of the boys didn't like him at all. They thought of him as a sort of ginormous fruit loop. The ladies on the other hand found him to be a dreamy hunk. Hermione, in particular thought of him as being better looking then a muggle actor named Brad Pitt. She even wrote Lockhart's name in her daily planner and surrounded it with red hearts. Thoughts of Ron and the necklace were pushed back into the far regions of her mind.

One day, while sitting together in the Gryffindor common room, Ron took notice of Hermione's opened daily planner. He rolled his eyes as he saw Lockhart's name with hearts all around it. Hermione saw his reaction and asked him why he rolled his eyes. He told her that she was silly to put hearts around that goofy gits name. He told her that she should fall in love with Snape, because he was better looking then Lockhart. He told her that she should have better things to do then to think of Gildy all of the time. By now, Hermione was at a boiling point. She commanded Ron to stay put and not move. She then ran off to the girl's dorm. Ron just looked at Harry and shrugged his shoulders. When she came back, she was holding a long black velvet covered box. She thrust it to him and told him to take it. When he asked what it was, she yelled at him to take it and open it. When Ron took it and opened it, he couldn't believe his eyes. It was one of the coolest necklaces he had ever seen. In a voice filled with emotion, Hermione told him about the shards. She then yelled,

"For your information Ronald Weasley, I have been thinking a lot about you this summer." Ron was stunned. She went on to say,

"You will also notice that if you turn the page in my daily planner, you will also see your name written in it too! And your name has hearts around it as well!"

With that said, she grabbed her daily planner, slammed it shut, and stomped out of the common room. Again, Ron was stunned and somewhat confused at Hermione's revelation about him. He did admit to himself that he thought a lot of her during the summer, but he wasn't sure of what those feelings were leading up too. Wow he thought, maybe he was in love with her. Oh, it couldn't be. He then tumbled the necklace around in his hand; it was really very nice. He looked up at Harry, who was completely silent. "Harry, he said, do you think she likes me?"
