Harry Potter and the Hegemon

It was the second week of summer and Privet Drive was as quiet as ever. Harry had been in his room for the past week because Uncle Vernon had believed he was still a danger. There was a lot happening in the world. First, the Ministry finally admitted that Voldemort was back. This had, as was natural, caused a widespread panic in the wizarding community. Second, the world was under attack by a race of aliens called the buggers. This of course, for now, was just happening in North and South America. So he felt no need to panic about it.

Harry had been caught up in all this until the D.A. got in touch with him. They all wanted to meet somewhere over the summer so that they could continue their education in Defense Against the Dark Arts. He would have told them to meet him at his house except that they were for the majority underage and the fact that his aunt and uncle hated anything that had to do with magic.

Harry decided that he would ask Dumbledore about it. So he started trying to compose a letter. There were so many things he wanted to ask him, he couldn't figure out what to put down. After about an hour he put:

Dear Dumbledore,

I am writing you to ask if you knew of someplace where me and the rest of Dumbledore's Army could meet to practice what we do. I would also like Know how the Order is going and if I could come to HQ. If so please send someone to pick me up. Also I was wondering if there was somewhere I could go to find out about my family line.

That looks fine, Harry thought; it would be fine in the mean time, though he would have to write to his friends. To the ones out of school he would suggest that they enter the Order of the Phoenix, while to the younger ones he would tell them that he would write them when he knew where they could meet.

After writing to each one he tied the letters to the owls and sent them off. He did the same with Hedwig except she was going to Dumbledore. After all this he went to his bed to read Hogwarts: A History for the first time. He was doing this because he finally decided that Hermione was right - Ron and he should know more about Hogwarts and the secrets in it.

The next morning he woke up to a very loud knock on his door. He got up and opened the door, he was surprised to see not one of the Dursleys but Remus Lupin. It was very weird that he would be there. Harry went to the door and started talking to him. He asked him questions like why are you here and when can I leave, to which Lupin apparently had no answer. Harry was about to hit him when Harry woke up.

There was a tapping at the window. It of course was Hedwig with a letter back from Dumbledore. The letter was very short and had answers to all the questions he had asked. The letter went:

Dear Harry,

I will be sending some of the members of the Order to pick you up from your aunt and uncle's house. I have already been in contact with the D.A. They should be arriving shortly after you do. Just so you know Sirius did leave a will and Remus will tell you what you have received when you arrive.

Harry went about the task of gathering up his belongings and waiting for the people to get there. When he finally went downstairs he discovered his aunt, uncle and cousin were already up and sitting at the breakfast table. Harry decided that he should tell them that he would be leaving soon.

It was about three in the afternoon when he heard, strange enough, a car pull up to the house. Harry went out and saw Mr. Weasley's Ford Anglia! This was very hard to believe seeing that the car had run off into the woods during Harry's second year.

Also, when Harry got to the car he found not Mr. Weasley but Fred and George. He decided that he would ask them where they got the car.

"Where'd you find the car?"

"Oh, on the way out of the grounds we heard a rumbling in the Forbidden Forest so we went toward it. And you know what we found," George said.

"We found this bucket of bolt getting thrashed by this big giant. Of course later we found out that it was Hagrid's brother. So George started talking to Grawp and the weirdest thing is that Grawp put the car down. That's when I jumped inside and drove off with it," Fred told Harry.

"Then I jumped on my broomstick and flew after him. You know, when we told Hagrid he started cursing and screaming about how he had wondered why Grawp was going crazy that day. Well anyway the car was in pretty bad shape so we repaired it and it seems that cured its wild side too," said George.

"Alright Harry get in the car and we'll be off toward London."
