Author's Note:
This is femmeslash. As in, there are two women in love getting married. If this squicks you, then don't read it. It truly is as simple as that.

Today's the day.

Ginny stands in front of the mirror in her room, while her mother makes the last few adjustments to her dress.

"You look so beautiful, darling," Molly says, straightening up and brushing the tears away. Her little girl, all grown up, getting married to the girl of her dreams..

"Thanks, mum." Ginny's voice wavers in her own ears, thick with nerves and fears and hopes and dreams.

"We have to leave in half an hour," Molly tells her. "I'll meet you downstairs."

"Okay."

Molly shuts the door quietly behind her, letting her daughter stay in her room.

Ginny stands in the center of her room, and looks around it. The pink-and-white striped walls, the lacy white curtains, the cherrywood desk that had been her grandmother's. It was still a little girl's room, but Ginny loved it all the same.

She walked over and sat down at her vanity, silk skirt rustling as she walked. Hazel eyes stared back at her from a pale, freckled face, and copper ringlets were pulled back in a bun with a few wild tendrils escaping around her neck. Slim, shapely shoulders were shown off by her strapless dress with it's heart-shaped neckline, and her curves were accentuating by the form-fitting bodice. The skirt was long and full and brushed the ground when she walked. Eschewing a veil and train, there were simply a few fresh daisies

ginny's favorite, hermione gave her a bouquet of them when she confessed her feelings she handed ginny the daisies tied with a simple cream white silk ribbon i love you she said i love you and these are for you it was the most ineloquent thing hermione had ever said but she couldn't get the words out right she blushed ginny said thank you they're lovely you're lovely kissed her on the cheek they walked back to the castle holding hands ginny put the daisies in a cut-glass vase kept them on her dresser till they died but her relationship flourished

tucked into her bun.

Ginny breaths deeply. She knows it's going to be wonderful. Hermione will be there, wearing a well-tailored suit, probably charcoal gray, her hair up in a French twist, simple make-up but accentuating her high cheekbones, her big eyes. And Harry and Ron as her best men

we're already being unconventional by being two women getting married they're my two best friends and i want them a part of my wedding

and Blaise as Ginny's maid of honor

i'd be honored to do this for you ginny love we've always been close i know thank you so much blaise you have no idea how much this means to me you really don't i know blaise i love you you're amazing so are you love have you picked out your dress yet

and everyone will look beautiful and smile and be lovely and wonderful and happy. And her father will walk her down the aisle which won't be much of an aisle at all because they are having an outdoor wedding with Dumbledore consummating the marriage. He will say the words and Hermione and she will slip the rings on each other's fingers, and then they will kiss and go to a gorgeous reception under fairy-lit greenery and flowers would be everywhere.

She and Hermione will grow old together and Hermione will keep on with her research and new developments and they will adopt children from all over and raise them in a house that supports growth and change and caring and openness.

Ginny smiles at her reflection.

Today is the first day of the rest of her life.

finis.
