Author's Note:
This is a true story that happened to me, except this happened in a Muggle way. ;) Again, I want to dedicate this story to one of my best friends, Ben.

Harry's Secret

The pitter-patter of the rain and hail, the mewing of my kitten and the barking of my dogs coming from outside did not wake me. Instead, my mum did - on Tuesday morning, at 6:30 AM! She shook me again and again until I groaned and rolled over to one side. "Go take a shower," she ordered. "You're not going to have time tonight."

I groaned again, but slowly got out of bed. I hate morning showers because the water is coldest then. Plus, it was raining outside!

Mom and Dad had to leave for work because they work in a different city. I hugged and kissed them and told them to have a good day at work. "Goodbye," I called as I saw my mum's brownish-red curls turn towards me when she was at the door. My dad had already left into our car. "See you tonight after dance. Harry's coming to dance tonight, too. Is Dad picking us up or are you?" Harry was staying with some of our neighbors for this summer, and was sleeping over at my house for tonight.

"Your father is."

"Okay, love you, 'bye!"

"Love you, too, Hermione, 'bye!"

I went to take my shower; then I got ready for swimming. As I mounted my bicycle, I felt that the morning was sort of telling me, in her own special way, "You'll find out something important today."

It turns out that the morning was right, but I'll get to that later. I met Harry at the pool. Despite the fact that it was still raining, we swam in the public pool. (The water was actually heated.)

After swimming we rode our bicycles back to my house.

After school, Harry and I rode our bicycles to the dance studio in London. There, I took a ballet class, then I took another 2-hour ballet class, while Harry watched. After that class, I had a relieving break and Harry and I shared a wonderful dinner consisting of a tuna fish sandwich that my mom brought to me and leftover Cotillion cookies. Oh, joy.

The Cotillion dance was a semi-formal social dance that was held every month by the Demonstration Dance Team (Demo Team) of the dance studio. Harry and I attended the Demo Team in the summer and there were a few Cotillions in the summer that we helped to run. It was a lot of fun.

Then Harry and I went down the hall to Demo Team, and there I found out something about Harry. My psychic ness and knowledge of Divination told me and plus, it was on the grounds of "WAY obvious!"

I told Harry that I knew his secret. After several attempts of denying me, Harry finally let it out.

"Ahh! You're the FIRST one to figure that out," he told me with a playful swat.

"I know, I know," I playfully bragged back, dodging the swat, "And I just might let it SLIP from my mouth..." I began, walking with him down the hallway for a water break.

"Don't you dare," he interrupted, laughing.

"...to HER!" I finished, grinning.

Harry's face turned bright red. Despite his embarrassment, he, too, was grinning from ear to ear. We came back to the room and the teacher, Julianne, asked us to all get partners for the Swing. I asked Harry, stifling a giggle, "Would you like to dance?"

"Most certainly." Like me, he feigned formalness in his voice, (which turned out to be very cheesy indeed) still grinning.

We danced and talked. Then we sat down next to each other and shared a secret smile. I put my head on his shoulder. I knew every word in his thoughts.

"HOW did Hermione find out???!!!"

"I'm not telling you," I told him, before realizing that I had heard his thoughts and not his voice.

Harry looked at me in surprise. "What?"

I coughed. "Oh, um...never mind."

Harry stared with his stunning emerald green eyes directly into my enchanting hazel brown eyes, as if trying to determine something. I read his mind: "Okay, is she trying to cover up something, or...what?"

Harry finally said, "Hermione, how did you know what I was thinking?"

I sighed. "Harry, Harry, you have much to learn, my dear. I'm psychic. I'm not a Seer like in Divination, but I am one of the few witches to actually be psychic," I continued.

"Oh."

There was a long pause between us. "Okay," Harry said finally.

Once again, my psychic blessing-gift saved me from being in the dark with my friends!

Okay, okay, I'll spill, but you didn't hear it from me! I'll tell you the secret. Turns out that Harry likes our good Ravenclaw friend Cho Chang. I think it's so cute, though, and he ended up asking her out to the Yule Ball back in 4th year. After I found out that day, Harry sent an Owl to her, asking her out again. I do hope she says yes.

I must admit, it's a stage of life to like Harry. Even I liked Harry in the first, second and third years. Happy? Good. Every girl in Demo Team has liked him at one point in their life...even if the time length was only one minute. Actually, every girl who knows Harry has liked him at one point in their life.

After Demo Team, my dad picked Harry and me up from dance and asked, "Hey, Hermione, Harry, how was dance?"

I giggled. Harry and I exchanged glances and grins. I would tell that to him later. "Fine," I told him for the time being.

As I changed into my flowered nightgown, I reviewed the day's works. "Yes," I thought to myself, "today was a good day." I carefully brushed my teeth, washed my face, finished my History of Magic essay, and immediately fell asleep on my bed, Harry in the bunk above me.

THE END
