- Hey all… This is Jamie… submitting for Jenna… AGAIN!!! So anyway she wanted me to let you all know that “This is just something that came out of me from nowhere. Just Like I Do
By: Jenna_Potter
I sat in a comfortable armchair in front of the fire, mesmerised by the dancing flames. It was late. I could tell by the moonlight that filtered the Gryffindor common room. Everyone had gone off to bed so I was all alone, something that I felt even around my friends. In my trance-like state, I thought back to that one night that has ruined my life so far. Should I have said those harsh words to him? Those words that haunt me now that he has left angry and in rage. I ask myself why but have no answer. Now he's gone and won't come back and even if he does, he won't want me. Him and his ruffled jet black hair that always stuck up on end. Him and those bold emerald green eyes that always had a gleam of mischief, fear, anger, and despair, all mixed into one. It's been a fornight since I've seen him last. The night is flashing before my eyes.
*~ Flashback ~*
Harry was soaking wet and his Quidditch robes stuck tightly to his skin. He had just come back from another exhausting practice. He had been working the Gryffindor team hard with five practices a week. All the reserves were only required to attend three at the least, though Harry encouraged more. When he stepped through the portrait hole he quickly spotted her. She was sitting in her usual spot by the fire, with her books propped open, and her quill scribbling across the parchment. He tried to avoid being noticed but failed. She shifted in her chair so that she was now facing him. Her eyes were cold as she gave him a half smile that immediately fell to a frown.
"Mr. Potter," she said in the sternest voice she could muster, "What means more to you, Quidditch or me?"
"You of course."
"Then pray tell, why are you back so late. The rest of the team was here two hours ago. And there's the little factor that Dumbledore gave us permission to go to Hogmeade tonight. Don't tell me you forgot."
"Will sorry help the situation?"
"You're a bastard Harry James Potter! A bastard!"
"Now see here," he said forcefully, grabbing her shoulders and gripping her firmly, "I love you and would never do anything to hurt you. Don't you know that? "
There were tears that dashed down her cheeks but out of happiness or grief but anger. Tears of pure rage. "That's a load of bull, Harry, and you know it! How could you love me when I never loved you!"
At this Harry stepped back from her, obviously hurt. "You're fooling yourself into believing that. You're lying."
"I am not! I am telling the truth and you seem to be having a hard time excepting it!"
"I'm sorry that I'm caused you so much trouble. I'll just be going and leave you alone." He then went into the direction he had come from, back to the portrait hole.
"My life will be so much better without you in it!" she screamed. Harry stopped in his tracks and pivoted to see her flushed and the tears still hadn't stopped. He looked deeply into her eyes and thought that he was about to make the biggest mistake of leaving her. "I want you to do me a favour. Go find someone who will treat you fairly, just like I do. Go find someone who will cherish your presence, just like I do. Go find someone that loves you so deeply it hurts, just like I do. Go find someone that will hold on to you forever, just like I want to but can't." He then rushed out of the common room leaving her in disbelief.
*~ End Flashback ~*
The only thing that I wish is that if only he would have held onto me forever just like he could of, I would have him still and he'd have be until the end of time.
