"During the 1400's, the coming of the Renaissance and the increasing reliance among Muggles on scientific reasoning, the break between the Wizarding and Muggle worlds is becoming more and more complete. Each culture goes on to create their own civilization: social structures, economies, governments, etc.." Professor Binns' monotonous voice drone on, making half the students in his class fall asleep. Harry chose this time to watch the brown-haired girl in the front, who seems to be the only one that is wide awake and using this time to scribble furiously on the parchment. Harry sighed.

It had been two weeks. Two AGONIZING weeks since he told Hermione what he felt about her, and two weeks of not being able to be near her, to laugh with her, to see her smile and to just BE with her. The reason: Hermione was avoiding him.

At first, he couldn't understand why he hadn't seen Hermione throughout the day. After a couple of days, he realized that Hermione seemed to be the last one to come in to class and the first one to leave. Harry couldn't even catch up with Hermione during breakfast, lunch or dinner because she would gobble up her food as fast as her mouth could chew and bolt out of the Great Hall when Harry had just sat down to eat. It just occurred to him yesterday that maybe it was what he said that night in the Common Room that made Hermione avoid him in the first place.

Harry banged his head on his desk, telling himself that he was the biggest prat anyone has ever known. When he blurted out his feelings for Hermione, he didn't exactly SAY that it was her he was talking about, and he wanted to hex himself for it.

"All right, class dismissed," Professor Binns' voice broke Harry's thoughts. Before he can even stand up to gather his things, a sudden movement caught Harry's eye. He looked up just in time to see Hermione practically breaking the door to get out. He gripped his books tightly. He didn't know how long he can take the fact that Hermione is avoiding him, and it was all he could do to stop himself from ripping his hair out in frustration.

"Hey mate, where are you going?" Ron asked as soon as he saw Harry, who dumped all his books in his bed and grabbed his Firebolt.

"Where do you think I'm going? I'm going to fly around the Quidditch pitch to clear my head," Harry said. He walked past Ron and left the boys' dormitories. For a moment, Ron didn't move from his position. He wasn't daft. He knew what was happening between his two best friends. He wanted to help, but he knew that this was between Harry and Hermione, and for once, they would have to solve their own problems. Ron frowned.

"What I don't understand from those two wankers is that they just can't seem to face each other and say, 'I'm in love with you.' Is that so hard to do?' he thought to himself as he dropped his bag onto the side of his bed.

"Don't even try and understand your two best friends," his conscience said as Ron combed his hair.

"You want to know why? You'll just give yourself a HUGE headache if you do, so it's best to leave the headache for the two of them," Ron silently agreed. Then he frowned once more.

"Am I talking to myself?" he asked, and his eyes widened. He slapped himself.

"I REALLY need to find Lav," he mumbled and bolted out of the boys' dormitories, shaking his head to erase the fact that he was just talking to himself.

Harry flew over to the Quidditch stands and got off his broom. He sat down and closed his eyes, relishing the moment when he was still in the air.

"It certainly DID clear my mind," he thought, smiling. If there is anything he loved more than anything in the world besides Hermione, it was flying.

"You know Potter, smiling to yourself is not a very good sign," Harry opened his eyes to see Draco smirking at him. Harry smirked back.

"Are you stalking me now? Whoa, Draco, I didn't know you swung that way," he replied. For a moment, no one said a word. Suddenly, they burst out laughing. Draco sat beside Harry and offered him a pumpkin pasty.

"Ron told me to give this to you since you missed dinner," he said. Harry took it from him.

"Thanks," he said before biting into it. Draco leaned back.

"So, you and Hermione talking yet?" he asked. Harry sighed.

"No," he answered, suddenly losing his appetite. Draco rolled his eyes.

"Don't you think maybe it's time you two straightened things out? Because the more you two avoid each other, the more you'll lose one another," Draco said. Harry blinked. That never occurred to him before, and the more he thought about it, he knew there was a huge possibility that Hermione might never be his. Harry stood up.

"Where are you going now?" Draco asked. Harry mounted his broom.

"I need to find Hermione," he said before flying towards the castle. Draco smirked.

"Thank Merlin he finally got his brain working again," he muttered.

"That was so sweet of you." Draco looked up to see Ginny smiling at him. Draco scratched the back of his neck.

"How long have you been standing there?" he asked. Ginny walked up to him and sat on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Long enough," she said. Draco narrowed his eyes at her.

"Didn't your mother ever teach you not to listen to 'guy' talk?" he growled. Ginny raised an eyebrow.

"Is there even such a thing?" she asked. Draco glared at her.

"Don't play with me, woman," he said. Ginny's jaw dropped.

"Well you're the one-" she was cut off as Draco planted his lips on hers. When they pulled apart, Ginny scowled.

"That's your solution to everything, isn't it? Get your girlfriend angry, and when she's about to throw in her Weasley temper, you kiss her to shut her up. I'm right aren't I?" she asked. Draco laughed.

"But it always works, doesn't it?" he said. Ginny rolled her eyes.

"You are such an egotistical-" she was cut off once more because Draco's lips were on hers again. When Draco pulled away, Ginny groaned.

"It's no use arguing, is there?" she said. Draco smirked.

"Nope," he said. Ginny just shrugged and kissed Draco once more.

After visiting the Common Room, the girls' dormitories (with the help of Parvati) and the library, Harry made his way back to the Gryffindor Tower, frustrated. He climbed through the portrait hole and made his way to the couch, where Ron was sitting with Lavender on his lap. Harry plopped on the couch, startling Ron and Lavender.

"Where is she?!" he cried to himself. Ron raised an eyebrow at Lavender, who seems to know what Harry's talking about.

"Did you check the library?" she asked. Harry nodded.

"The girls' dormitories?" Harry nodded. Lavender bit her lip.

"What about the Astronomy Tower?" she asked. Harry perked up.

"I didn't check there yet," he mumbled. Harry stood up, beaming.

"I could kiss you Lavender!" he exclaimed. When he saw Ron's eyes widened and Lavender looking uncomfortable, he smiled sheepishly.

"Er, I meant, thanks Lav," he said and left the Common Room. As soon as he left, Ron looked at Lavender, his eyebrow raised. Lavender scoffed.

"Hey, don't look at me, you two sleep in the same room," she said.
