As Parvati Patil dove frantically through her cluttered belongings in search of her Charms textbook, Lavender Brown simply sat on the girl's bed, legs swinging slightly, soft giggles occasionally slipping from the confines of pastel tiers. Once again, the two were late for class... not that Lavender minded the little extra time spent alone with her best friend.

"Lavender, get up and help me! We've got to go," Parvati whimpered helplessly, well-manicured hands tossing random belongings to the side as she struggled to find the necessary tome. She could feel tears of frustration burning within brown eyes, and the eruption of giggles behind her made her face flush with anger.

"What's so funny?" She snapped, the bridge of her nose wrinkling with indignation, chocolate hues burning into Lavender's bright blues. Lavender thought the look on her face was adorable, and a wide smile spread across her pale face.

Parvati gaped at her a moment, in awe of her inconsideration, but quickly caught on to her little game. A small smirk moved to taint her once angry expression, eyes flickering over the girl who's slender arms were tucked curiously around her back. "Yeah, nice try, Lav," she said with a burst of giggles, holding out her right hand. "C'mon, we've gotta get to class."

An eyebrow quirked as Lavender stood, book still hidden behind her back as she grinned playfully at her best friend. "Aw, c'mon, you don't think I'm gonna give it to you that easy, do you?" she questioned, pulling the book out from behind her back to waggle teasingly in Parvati's face.

"Lavender," she whined, making a fruitless grab at the textbook as she glared at the brunette. "We can't be late again!"

"Why can't we just skip? We can sit up here and talk," she pleaded, dodging out of Parvati's way as she attempted to steal the book from her hands. As soon as she finished speaking, however, she found Parvati's full weight striking her around the waist, body tumbling backwards and textbook flying from her hands to fall halfway across the empty dormitory.

Struggling to get away from Lavender's thrashing limbs, Parvati crawled towards the book, only to feel those slender arms wrap around her shoulders to pull her forcefully back. The two quickly set into giggles, arms and legs thrashing as they wrestled on the hard floor, nearly striking objects as they rolled over each other's bodies.

Bodies immediately froze, however, as the two felt their lips brush aross each other, Lavender presently straddling Parvati's waist, both hands locked around the girl's wrists.

"Lavender..." Parvati whispered, eyes widening slightly as she stared up into the girls face, finding herself marvelling at how perfectly those brunette locks fell around her pale jawbones.

Lavender leaned in to her friend, breath shallowing slightly as their faces grew closer, Parvati's brown eyes searching her own cerulean blues. Lips were a mere inch apart, room silent except for the heavy, unsure breathing of the two girls.

Parvati felt Lavender's lips locking with her own, and instead of pulling away, found herself delving into the kiss. Her lips were so much softer than she could have ever imagined them to be, much unlike the harsh, fumbling lips of a boy. She was reluctant when Lavender finally pulled away, a confused, yet pleased look upon her face. Mouth shifted for a moment as she searched for words, and finally found herself murmering, "Wow, Parvati..."

It was Parvati who leaned forward this time, clasping lips over Lavender's in a kiss filled with not only desire but need. It felt good to have the girl this close, this intimate. She felt Lavender's hands slide down her wrist, leaving a trail of tingling flesh as she locked fingers with Parvati.

After a few seconds, however, the kiss was ended by Parvati pulling back, long, deep breaths issuing from between glossed tiers. A small smile spread across her face as she removed her right hand from Lavender's, reaching up to gently brush digits across her best friend's temple, shifting brunette tresses behind her ear. She giggled softly, eyes running over the witch's loving expression. "Lavender?"

"Yeah, 'Vati?" she questioned, raising an eyebrow.

     "Let's skip, like you said."
