It was a week before Christmas and everyone was at Grimmauld place. Hermione was reading a book in the comfiest chair in the house, while Harry was playing a game of chess with Ron.

"I give. You win," Harry said after finally losing his queen. Then for the heck of it he picked up one of the pieces from his now broken queen and threw it at Ron.

"Ow! My eye!" said Ron who put his hand over his eye immediately.

"What? It didn't even hit your eye!" Harry protested.

"I know!" Ron said taking his hand down and laughing. "I'm just playing with ya, mate. Want to play again?" They set the game up and Ron was about to make his first move when they heard something move in the kitchen.

"What was that," Hermione said looking up from her book. Harry then got up and headed toward the kitchen. The other two waited patiently, then suddenly Harry burst out laughing.

"Come here. You got to see this," Harry said still laughing. The three got up and walk toward the kitchen.

"Harry what the b..." Ron tried to say but was caught in the face with a hand full of flour. "Hey, what the..."

"No swearing," Ginny said laughing. She wanted to surprise the trio. Unfortunately she had made to much noise on entry and had caught the others attention.

"What are you guys doing?"

"Well, I was reading, Harry lost another chess game to Ron and now Harry is going to up that number to what, fifty-two billion," Hermione said laughing quietly.

"Hey, I resent that statement," Harry said trying but failing to defend himself.

"You guys are sooo boring. Oh, I have an idea, let's have a Secret Santa Gift Exchange!" Ginny said excitedly.

"A Secret what-a-what?" Ron asked confused.

"Idiot! A Secret Santa Gift Exchange," Hermione said, then went into a full length explanation of what a Secret Santa was. "...Then on Christmas Eve we all get together and you give the gift to the person who's name you pulled out of the hat. I bet you could ask Sirius, Remus, Fred, George..." Hermione went on.

"No way! Not Fred and George!" Harry said.

"Why not?" Ginny asked.

"Do you really want to know the answer to that..." Ron said.

"Yes! Why? They are our Brothers Ron..." Ginny said.

"Anyway," Ron said, not wanting to explain why he didn't want a gift from one of his brothers that was not inspected by his mother first. Normally, Mrs. Weasley would check what Fred and George were giving to the rest of the family to make sure it was safe. "That leaves Harry, Hermione, Ginny, Remus, Sirius and I," Ron said counting.

"So that's six people..." Hermione said. She then went over to the table and took a piece of parchment out of her bag. At that moment the door opened and Remus and Sirius entered the house.

"I swear that's not what she said..." Remus was telling Sirius.

"Yes it is..." Sirius trailed of as he saw the other staring at them. "Hey guys. What are you all doing," he said changing his tone as he spoke.

"Nothing much," Hermione said. "But we were wondering. Would you two be interested in doing a Secret Santa?"

"That would be great idea!" Remus and Sirius said together. They looked at each other then Sirius said, "What's a Secret Santa?"

"Idiot!" Remus said. Hermione looked at Ron then at Harry then the three of them started to laugh. Remus looked at the trio, then back at Sirius while Sirius just shrugged his shoulders.

"Never mind," Hermione said, then once again she launched into a full explanation of what a Secret Santa was.

"Okay, sounds like fun!" Sirius said actually meaning what he said this time.

"Good because I already put your names in the hat."

They all crowed around the hat to pick a name. Once they had there's, they sat in the chairs around the room.

"Once you have your name, memorize it and don't tell anyone who you have," Hermione said bossily.

"And, we are going to have to go to Diagon Alley in the near future," Ron said.

"How about the two girls go do there shopping then when they come back, the four of us guys and go," Remus suggested.

"Who will watch them," Sirius, who had gotten very protective, said.

"I am sixteen years of age, Ginny is sixteen and I have been out on my own more times then I can count," Hermione said defensively.

"Fine you can go," Sirius said.

Hermione took out her wand and pointed it to one of the scrapes of parchment.

"Portus," she said. "Ginny, you coming?" Then Hermione and Ginny put their hand on the newly made Porkey, and they were off.

"Now that they're gone..."Sirius said.

The girls took what seemed like forever then the boys went out and took a total fifty-four minutes.

They then went to there separate rooms to wrap their gifts for their Secret Santa.

Christmas Eve came soon enough and the room was crowded. Now the eight were not the only ones in the house: there was M. and Mrs Weasley, Bill, Charlie, Percy, Dumbledore, and the rest of the order members. At six o'clock, Hermione called all the people involved with the gift exchange to come up to her room (by far the biggest room out of the eight), and asked every one to have there gift ready to give to the secret Santa.

"Go," Hermione said and everyone went to who they were supposed to give there gift to.

Ron had Harry, Harry had Ginny, Ginny had Remus, and Remus had Ron.

They all opened their gifts and were jumping for joy.

Harry got a new watch to replace the one that he broke in forth year, Ginny got a very nice charm bracelet that she could attach the charms to herself, Remus got a couple dosages of Wolfsbane potion, and Ron got a couple of Galleon, Sickles and some chocolate frogs. When Hermione approached Sirius with his present they both started to laugh. They had gotten each other. Hermione opened hers first and found a stuffed animal, it was cat that looked almost exactly like Crookshank. She also found a book on Animaugies. She thanked him then told him to open his. He did and found a flea collar.

He looked at it and Hermione said, "You said you were having a problem with fleas remember, you kept complaining about them last week."

He looked at Hermione, back at the flee collar, back at Hermione then transformed into the big black dog, and jumped up on her.

"Get off, get off, " she said laughing at Sirius. He then picked up his flea collar and had Hermione put it on for him.

He bounced around the room for a bit, knocking into people and shoving them over then transformed back into himself and modelled his new necklace. Everyone started to laugh then they heard Mrs. Weasley shout up the stairs that it was time to eat and that they were making to much noise. Then one by one they walked down the stairs still laughing and talking.

"Er... Ginny, if you don't mind m'asking, why are you in your pyjamas?" Ron asked.

"Oops," was all she said before running to her room to change

"Umm, okay. Sirius, aren't you going to take that off for diner," Harry said unable to stop laughing.

"Na, not unless I get yelled at which probably wo..." At that second, the curtain blocking the portrait of Sirius mom opened and she started to shout. Sirius pushed passed everyone on the stairs and pulled the curtains shut. Then he reached up to his neck and reluctantly took of the flea collar and put it in his robe pocket.

"I guess I spoke to soon," he said continuing to head toward the kitchen, with everyone behind him.
