Jealousy

Chapter 1

Ginny Weasley walked the corridor towards her room. Virginia Cloren Weasley, sister of Ronald Bartley Weasley or Ron as he was constantly referred to, quietly opened the door, hoping that it didn't creak. She quickly looked towards her room-mates.

'Asleep. Great, now I have time to myself.'

Trying her best not to wake them up, Ginny made her way across the room towards her bed. Quietly retreating to her corner of the room, she quickly undressed and slid into bed. She placed her arms above her head and just stared at the ceiling for awhile, thinking back on the events that occurred a couple of minutes ago.

"Hey Ginny."

"Hi Simon," she replied. Simon was a 6^th year Gryffindor, just like her. They had most of their classes together and were very good friends." What are you doing out here, shouldn't you be in bed?"

"I was about to ask you the same question!"

"I was studying for that quiz we have for tomorrow. You know, the one for Herbology. Seeing as how the common room is very noisy at this time of night, I decided to go to the library."

They started walking towards the Fat Lady portrait. Ginny stood before it and opened her mouth to say the password when,

"Hey Gin, before we go in, do you mind if I ask you something?"

"Yeah, of course!"

"Um... you know how the holidays are coming up, I was wondering if you, I mean we, could like... go on a date? You don't have to if you don't want to!!"

"No Simon, I would love to go!"

Ginny stood in front of the portrait and muttered the password, 'Brave and Loyal'. The password came out as a whisper, knowing that people from other houses could be out at that time of night, and could be trying to listen in on the password. The portrait swung open to reveal the Gryffindor common room, turning around, she gave Simon a peck on the cheek and ran upstairs to bed. Leaving a very happy and smiling Simon.

Draco Malfoy ran down the corridor towards the dungeons, where the Slytherin house was located. He shouted the password, 'Psychopath', and ran into his room. He quickly changed and flopped onto his bed. He placed his hands behind his head and just stared at the ceiling for awhile, thinking of the events that happened a few minute ago.

"Hey Ginny."

"Hi Simon, what are you doing out here, shouldn't you be in bed?"

He would've recognised that voice anywhere, Ginny Weasley. Virginia Cloren Weasley, a 6^th year Gryffindor, his arch enemy's best friend's sister and the mudblood Granger's best friend.

He peeked around the corner, for heaven's sake, he was a 7^th year Slytherin, Draco Malfoy, a name that should send every girl swooning at his feet. It happened, every girl did fall at his feet, well every girl but her. At first, he thought she was just stupid, but he discovered something special in her, a sense of determination. It made him crave for her more, she, Virginia Cloren Weasley, was officially the new conquest for him.

He turned back to the couple standing in the corridor,

"Um... you know how the holidays are coming up, I was wondering if you, I mean we, could like... go on a date? You don't have to if you don't want to!!"

"No Simon, I would love to go!"

'Okay Ginny, if you want to make this hard.' He turned on his heel and ran. 'I'm going to get you. This Simon character is only a minor obstacle.'
