Millicent Bulstrode had for the first time in her whole life, cried. It was those mean Gryffindor boys fault. Fred and George Weasley had slipped into the Great Hall before lunch and had sat a stuffed replica of a pig at her normal chair. When she saw the horrific sight, at the empty table since she was the first one there, she did not unleash the flood gates of tears. She heard the loud and haughty laughter come from the Gryffindor table, Fred and George had laughed the hardest while Ron Weasley turned the same shade of red as his hair from how hard he was laughing. The only ones who did not join in this laughter was Harry Potter and Hermione Granger, since they thought that this was very cruel, even though it had happened to a Slytherin. She had ran out of the Great Hall without pause or thought. She run as far and as fast as she could to the nearest girls' bathroom. She sunk to the well-tiled bathroom floor and there she cried.

She had wondered why so many had thought she was so ugly, why so many had thought she was this big joke. She kept her mouth shut and kept to herself. She knew that the Gryffindors thought she was outright hilarious and something to joke about. She had heard the Gryffindors churtle with laughter when she messed up and made pig noises if she ate in front of them. She was tired of being this big joke. No Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Slytherin made fun of her but those Gryffindors, that made her grimace.

She didn't think that she was that ugly, she knew that no one had fancied her but she knew that she was not as ugly as they made her out to be. She was stocky, not fat but stocky. She was well developed, brawny. Hufflepuffs had thought that she would beat the tar out of them if they had said something that she did not like. She didn't like to think of herself as that, she liked to think of herself as soft. Her mother always liked to give her hugs and said she was soft. Her hair was black as coal and was curly. Her face was hard, stoic. Millicent didn't like to show her emotions out on her sleeve, it made her weak and vulnerable.

She got off the bathroom floor and walked to the first sink. She turned on the icy cold tap and let the water flow, cupping her hands and splashing it on her blotchy face. She knew her heart that she did not deserve this, Slytherin or not.

Millicent wasn't aware that Pansy Parkinson had entered the bathroom until she pulled up to the mirror beside her. Millicent had known Pansy was the cruelest girl at Hogwarts, her tongue was like that of a rusty razor blade. When she cut, she cut deep and left an infection. Millicent felt a tremor of fear, what would Pansy say about her crying? Would she be mean to her as well.

She observed Pansy as she pulled out her pot of lip gloss from the hem of her robe and brushed it on to her lips. Millicent had watched Pansy a lot, in the mornings Pansy had always woke up earlier than anyone just to make sure her make-up was perfect. Though cruel, Millicent had thought Pansy was pretty. Pansy had that slim form and luxurious blonde hair, her eyes like blue steel. The Gryffindors had all said she had a pug nose but Millicent didn't see it. But Millicent did not lie to herself and her defenses were up, she was not going to let Pansy chew into her as well.

"What, came here to say something as well. I know I am a big joke," Millicent said as she turned away from Pansy.

"What," Pansy replied, she was oblivious.

" You know the pig in the Great Hall. I bet you thought that was so hilarious."

"What pig?"

"You don't know?"

"No."

"Tell me."

"Why do you care? You probably think it is funny too."

"Millicent, I may be a bitch but I am not completely heartless. Tell me, " Pansy finished.

Pansy was very attentive to Millicent as she told the tale. Millicent couldn't believe that she was sitting on the floor in the girls bathroom and spilling every painful emotion to her. Pansy had done her best to listen, her full lips curled when she thought about Fred and George Weasley.

"That was so wrong," Pansy said as she sneered in disgust.

"It really hurt and the thing was I had never done anything to one of them, well there was that time when I had put Hermione in a headlock but this doesn't qualify," Millicent said in reply.

"Those Weasley idiots had no right to do that, that lower class scum. I swear I hate mugglelovers."

"Pansy, if you don't mind me asking. Why are you being nice to me? I thought that you would find it funny."

"Millicent, have you ever wondered why no Slytherin has ever been mean to you?"

"No."

"Well Millicent, in a way, you are family. We are all in the same house and we all need each other. Those Gryffindor filth can never appreciate us and why should we cater to them. They are the ones that always attack first and are completely rude. They are lower than us, Weasleys will never be more than pathetic excuses for wizards and witches. We are who we are and we will always be better. You are beautiful Millicent in your own way, so be proud of yourself, " Pansy finished.

Millicent looked at Pansy and offered a smile. It felt really good to have this group of people behind her, it felt good to have this family. So what if she wasn't liked by Gryffindors, she was respected and cared about by the Slytherins. She was surprised by Pansy and she felt incredibly better. She was beautiful and she was happy.

"I'll tell you what. How about we put those Weasleys and Gryffies in their place," Pansy asked with a smirk.

"Really," Millicent responded. A light brightened those red, cried out eyes.

" Yes, now let's go get some lunch. Let's see if they say anything else, " Pansy said and offered her hand to help Millicent up. The two of the walked to the Great Hall, realizing how beautiful they were.
