Chapter 1- A Time of Great Pain

Bodies were everywhere, scattered on the ground, both of Death Eaters and Aurors. Harry, who stood visibly in the middle of the battlefield, turned his head and saw Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew/Wormtail dueling. Harry watched as Sirius and Wormtail threw spells at each other. Then for a moment it looked as though Sirius would win, Wormtail grabbed a wand from a dead body and performed the death curse, "Avada Kedavra!" Green flashes happened everywhere.

Harry stood there in horror and watched Sirius fall. Harry screamed at Peter, took out his wand and aimed it at him.

"This is for my parents and Sirius," Harry whispered. "Avada Kedavra!"

The shot of green light hit Wormtail and as he fell, Harry stood there smiling and laughing. Hermione and Remus ran to Sirius cold body, lifting his body, they carried him to their base camp. Ron ran to Harry's side and stared at Wormtail's body.

"Harry," Ron whispered.

A cloaked figured moving visibly in the night, moving towards a house, memories flooded in as the cloaked figured walked closer. The figured remembered the day of meeting friends and understanding the world of wizards, but also remembering the pain of loss for all those people that died.

"Alohomora," the figured whispered.

The figured slowly walked into the house, and turned to see Rory Deans hiding in the dark.

"So the mudblood hides," the figured laughed. "What's the matter? Scared?"

"I am not hiding, I am preparing to make sure that you will never kill another person again!" shouted Rory.

"Well let's see you try mudblood!" hissed the figured.

"Expelliarmus!" shouted Rory

"Avada Kedavra!" the figure yelled.

The bright green light flashed throughout the whole house there in front of the cloaked figure laid Rory Dean. The figure raised the wand and shouted, "MORSMORDRE!" The large dark serpent shot out of the wizards wand, causing terror all around.

"We have to catch him! This is his tenth kill this past month!" yelled Ron.

"How? How can we determine who he's going after next?" questioned Hermione.

"What is wrong with him? I don't understand this," Ginny sighed.

"Perhaps we should ask Remus what to do," Hermione suggested.

"We can't," Cho replied, "he hasn't recovered after the death of Sirius and Harry becoming what he's become."

There was pure silence as they all remembered that Remus sat in his bed thinking about how if he had rushed over to Sirius in time he would still be alive or how if he had comforted Harry many things would have not have happened.

"This meeting of the Elites is to discuss the matter of theses random deaths and what should be our next move, let us not get off topic. First of all, we need to figure that is going to be the next target. Second of all we need to know who are the new recruited Death Eaters. So, do we have any suggestions?" Dumbledore asked.

Twenty people met at Hogwarts for the meeting of the Elites to stop Voldemort. Each five people represented a major team of a group; all people who joined the Elites at least must have had Auror training. Red was for bravery (the fieldwork), blue was for brains (the research team), green was for loyalty (spying), and yellow was for organization (to recruit and to plan for missions).

Hermione Weasley the leader of blue, Ronald Weasley leader of the blue, Cho Chang leader of the yellow, Draco Malfoy leader of the green, and Dumbledore leader of the organization of the Elites.

Cho spoke first, "Have we questioned the Death Eater we've just caught?"

"We have, they won't say anything and Fudge demanded that the Ministry handle questioning the Death Eaters," Ginny replied.

Ginny being part of team blue had recently caught the Death Eater Crabbe.

"I had the chance to question him when transporting and either he's really a moron or just doesn't know anything," growled Ginny.

"I agree with Ginny. All he responded to our questions were 'I dunno', but we've manage to understand his mission was to kill another muggle born witch named Terry Boon," told Dean and Seamus (part of team yellow).

Padma spoke up, " What if we catch their main man or woman, Hermione can you and the blue team find any connections between the deaths of all this mysterious persons victims and maybe then we can anticipate this persons next move. Afterwards Cho and the yellow team can come up with the plan and then we'll go on from there."

"Excellent idea Padma. This meeting is adjourned."

After everyone had left to do their work, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Cho, and Draco went to Dumbledore's office. They all stopped in front of the stone gargoyle gave the password "canary cream" and they all sat down. Remus and McGonagall entered the along with Dumbledore.

"Remus, how are you feeling?" Ginny asked

"A lot better and I am now willing to help with anything now. I'm over the situation of Sirius and have thought that I must get Harry back, so I will do anything I can to help." Remus replied.

Everyone saw that Remus and really meant this, but Harry was far beyond help.

"Alright, so what have you all come to see me about?" Dumbledore asked.

"We all what to discuss about the matter with Harry." Hermione replied.

They all sat in silence; everyone understood what he did to Peter, but after the funeral of Sirius everything went downwards.

"Harry, how are you doing? Have you been having any nightmares? Harry, please. I know you're upset, but at least eat something." Hermione pleaded.

"Go away!" Harry hissed.

Hermione backed away from Harry, she turned around cried silently. Ron rushed to her side and murmured quietly words to comfort her. Ginny came across the room sat beside Harry and put her head on his shoulder. Harry looked down and put his arm around her, everyone was silent. Remus came into the room and handed each of them a black band; slowly everyone put on the black band on their left arm.

As Harry slept that night a figure slowly appeared in his dream, it was Voldemort.

"So Harry, how does it feel to have lost the last person to become your family?" Voldemort laughed evilly.

"I haven't lost everyone!" Harry screamed.

"Clam down Harry and you are right or are you? You can join me Harry, then that way I promise not to kill any of your friends and the little girl of yours. Then that way you won't lose everybody." Voldemort taunted.

"How will I know you won't, Voldemort. Everyone knows you can't keep promises and of course your Death Eaters can kill them as well." Harry replied

"I will strike a bargain with you Harry. If you join me, anyone that follows and myself will not kill your friends. Do we have a bargain?" Voldemort asked.

Voldemort raised his white skeleton hand towards Harry. Harry now had a choice of saving the last people who really meant something to him or fight till the end and hope nothing will happen to them.
