"Hey Ginny, open up," came Harry's muffled voice through the door. Harry was going to watch the kids for the weekend. He might have left them, but he still wanted to spend time with them, and Ginny couldn't stop him, he was their father still, and one kid still missed him.
Ginny walked over to the door, opened it a little, and walked back to the bathroom to get ready to meet her client for work.
"Dad!" came the excited voice of Julian Potter. "I've missed you," he said, running up to Harry and hugging him.
"I've missed you, too, Julian," he replied warmly. Gabrielle, on the other hand, stood coldly behind her brother with her arms crossed. After Harry was finished with Julian, she simply walked up to him with a forced smile and shook his hand. Secretly, Ginny liked Gabby's reaction to Harry's new girlfriend.
"Harry," she regarded.
"Hey Gabby, how're you?" he asked his daughter politely.
"Just fine," she replied with exaggerated cheer and politeness, almost sounding and looking like a Stepford daughter with her huge, fake smile. "And you?"
"Great," he said, his smile fading a little.
"So what do you guys have planned today?" Ginny asked, stepping out of the bathroom, looking very professional.
"Well," Harry said, looking at her carefully. "First we're going to the airport to pick up Candy." Ginny cringed at the name.
"Wait, no," stopped Ginny.
"What?" asked Harry.
"I'm not going to let our children see that woman," she said stubbornly. "I may have to let them see you but I'm drawing the line at that-that...woman!"
"Uh, kids?" Harry asked awkwardly. "Why don't you get your things and let us speak for a moment?"
"Okay." And they left to their rooms.
"Why not? Are you jealous that they'll like her more than you?" asked Harry bitterly. Ginny snorted.
"They might, seeing as they're almost the same age," Ginny replied, her voice coldly crisp. "But no, I just don't want them to see the woman whom their father replaced their mother with. They might feel awkward with her."
"Why don't we see and find out?" Harry countered with the same coldness.
"No." Ginny's voice was firm. Harry sighed.
"Fine, I don't want to argue with you, I'll call her-"
"Wait, call? As in, she's a Muggle? I thought she was your secretary!" Ginny asked.
"She's a secretary, why, do you have a problem about her being a Muggle?" he asked curiously.
"No, but don't you think it'll be weird when Gabby and Ju go to Hogwarts
on the train with odd...things in their suitcases? Or when they come back? Or when you get mail from Hedwig? Or when-"
"I know, I know, but I'll deal with it, somehow," Harry said tiredly.
"We're ready!" Julian said excitedly through the doorway. Harry smiled at him.
"Okay, bye Ginny," said Harry.
"Bye mum!" said Julian, running to hug her good-bye.
"Bye, mum," said Gabby. But when Gabby came to hug her, she whispered in Ginny's ear. "And you promise you'll pay me once I get back for being nice to Harry?"
"Cross my heart," she whispered back.
"Okay, then," Gabby said in a normal voice. "Bye, mum, miss you, love you!"
"Love you!" Julian said from out the door.
"Love you too!" Ginny yelled back to them. She looked at her watch and slapped her hand to her forehead. "Crap, I'm late!" She grabbed her briefcase and ran out the door.
Ginny Apparated to the Floo Building where everyone went to work. She ran to the front desk. "Um, I have a client-" Before she could finish, the receptionist shoved a packet of Floo Powder in her hands. "Thanks," Ginny said and ran towards the West Fireplaces until she ran into someone and fell down.
"Oh, I'm so sorry," said a voice above her. Ginny had had it; she was frustrated with everything that was going on.
"Why don't you look where you're going next time?" she snapped.
"Ginny Weasley?" Ginny looked up. The person she bumped into was holding out his hand to help her up. She took it. As she stood up, she faced a man only slightly taller than she. Sandy brown hair, brown eyes...
"Dennis Creevey?" she asked.
"Hey, it's been a while," said Dennis, his voice a lot deeper than it had been at Hogwarts. "You're...married to Harry, right?" Ginny laughed dryly.
"Not anymore recently. He left me."
"Oh." His face softened with the same pity as everyone else. "I'm sorry."
"Oh, I'm fine," she said with strained reassurance. "What do you do?"
"I'm a journalist, and you?"
"Interior design," Ginny replied. "Speaking of which, I have a client, it's been great talking to you."
"Yeah." Ginny turned to leave but Dennis lightly touched her arm. "You...wouldn't be free Friday night, would you? I know this is a bit forward, especially after you and Harry just separated, but..." Dennis rambled on. He's asking me out? Ginny thought. He's younger than me! But he is quite easy on the eyes...she noticed. He had grown up a lot. He had a nervous expression on his face as he was talking, his brown eyes were widening with awkwardness, and his light hair was slightly falling into them. And washboard abs, she saw through his thin shirt. He's only a year younger than me, and Pansy said it would be good for me...I think that for once, she may be right.
"Alright," she stopped him.
"Really?" Dennis asked her unbelievingly. "Okay, how about Friday night at eight at P-3?"
"Okay," Ginny agreed. And she left. Now I'm really late, she thought.
Author Notes: I know it's not very long, but please bear with me...I know it's a bit OOC for Ginny to date someone younger than her. I couldn't think up a club name, so I used the one from Charmed. Sorry. Thank you to my loyal readers and reviewers for...reading and reviewing. PLEASE REVIEW! You know you want to...
