Last night your shadow fell upon my lonely room
I touched your golden hair and tasted your perfume
Your eyes were filled with love the way they used to be
Your gentle hand reached out to comfort me
Then came the dawn
And you were gone
You were gone, gone, gone
I had too much to dream last night
Too much to dream
I'm not ready to face the light
I had too much to dream
Last night
Last night

The room was empty as I staggered from my bed
I could not bear the image racing through my head
You were so real that I could feel your eagerness
And when you raised your lips for me to kiss
Came the dawn
And you were gone
You were gone, gone, gone
[repeat chorus 2X]

Oh, too much to dream
Oh, too much to dream
Too much to dream last night
Oh, too much to dream [repeat to fade]

Chapter 5: I Had Too Much To Dream (Last Night)

Draco was lying on his bed, and he could feel the softness of the mattress beneath him. The warmth of their bodies pressed together, the in sync rhythm of their hips' motion, and the sweat dripping from their faces made a cloud of fog appear on his window. Each thrust he made sent immense chills of pleasure down his spine. He could hear her softly moaning his name as she tightened the pressure of her legs around his waist. She leaned down over him and kissed his lips, which sent an enormous rush of bliss through him, triggering his climax. He heard her gasp as her peak of excitement came upon her. His passion exploded as he moaned, "Tristan!"

He opened his eyes. Gasping for air, he looked around and saw nothing but to the two snoring lumps of Crabbe and Goyle, who were both fast asleep in their beds. Draco's body was covered in perspiration, and he could feel where he had stained his sheets.

"Blimey," he whispered to himself in the dark dormitory. He'd had plenty of fantasies where he would sleep with beautiful girls, but none of the dreams had ever seemed this real.

He looked out the window. He could see the sun beginning to rise beyond the Forbidden Forest. Through his drowsiness he forced himself out of bed and stumbled into the bathroom. The cool water that he splashed on his face refreshed him, snapping him back to reality. He looked up into the mirror, examining his physique. He was extremely toned- thanks to years of playing Quidditch. He had well built arms, sculpted abs and nicely developed legs. His soft, smooth skin was of a pale pigment, and there was not one mark of flaw on his complexion. He was the spitting image of a god. Girls would go weak at the knees if they saw him naked. Any ordinary girl would, at least. Then he thought of her. The unordinary girl... and the dream.

She was straddling his defined torso, rocking back and forth as his hands explored every inch of her body. Their breathing and speed began to increase. She leaned down and kissed him, a kiss that was unlike any kiss he had before...causing thoughts and emotions to zoom through his mind. Nothing could explain this effect on his body. Why was this kiss different from any other?

His thoughts were interrupted when he looked down and saw that his shaft had sprung to life once again.

"Snap out of it!" he told himself. "She's a filthy American Mudblood."

Still, his boner would not go away. Then, he thought of the most disgusting girl he knew... the one with the clown lips, tarantula lashes, and raccoon eyes... Pansy Parkinson screwing him in place of Tristan in the dream. The thought was so awful that he gagged, lunging for the sink. As horrid as it was, at least it rid him of his hard-on.

When he was finished at the sink, he looked into the mirror, staring himself straight in the eye.

"Fucking American Prat."

That morning Malfoy decided to skip breakfast, to avoid seeing McQuerie. He had a lot on his mind since that night's dream. He headed on the long journey from the Slytherin dormitories down in the dungeons to the Divination Tower on the other side of the castle.

Draco always hated Divination. Although he always received top marks and was placed in the Advanced class, he found it rather pointless gaze into nothing in front of crystal balls and analyze tea leaves that predicted absolute nonsense.

He headed up the stairway to the musty classroom. The décor hadn't changed in years, for there were still the same round tables in the middle of the room, the same curtains hanging in front of the windows, and the fireplace in the corner was releasing the same strong perfume which would cause anyone who caught a whiff of it to get a headache. Draco took a seat in the back of the classroom, putting his feet upon the table and his hands behind his head, waiting for the other few students in the class to fill up the room.

He closed his eyes and tilted his chair back, and began to doze. A voice awoke him, calling his name.

"Mister Malfoy," Professor Trelawney cooed.

Her voice startled him, causing him to fall backwards out of his chair. The class, now filled with a few students, went into an uproar of laughter at the sight of him sprawled on the floor.

"Oh dear, are you alright?" Professor Trelawney asked, rather concerned.

"Yeah I'm fine," Malfoy said quickly while scrambling to his seat.

He looked over at Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. They were laughing so hard that Harry removed his glasses to wipe his eyes and Ron was as red as his hair. Draco shot the duo a death glare. They turned away as Trelawney began to speak again.

"Now class, we will begin to focus on astrology. Every zodiac sign has its counterpart. For instance, Gemini, the twins, matches with Libra, the scales, since they both have a pair within their symbols, both balanced. Your assignment for this week is to pick a partner whose zodiac sign matches with yours. The list of compatible signs goes as follows: Aries with Capricorn, Taurus with Leo, Gemini with Libra, Cancer with Scorpio, Virgo with Sagittarius, and Aquarius with Pisces. If you don't know what sign you were born under, I have a list here. Please pick your partner and I will give you further instructions."

People began to shuffle around the room, asking each other their signs. Malfoy stayed seated, watching others pair up, such as Harry with Padma Patil, Lavender Brown with Parvati Patil and Ron with Blaise Zambini.

"Your sign?" Malfoy heard someone ask rudely.

"Capricorn," he replied in an irritated tone.

He turned and saw Tristan beside him. His eyes widened at the sight of her. She was beautiful. Her hair was pushed back with a tortoiseshell head band, her cheeks and lips were rosier than usual, and her eyes were sparkling, appearing more green than they normally did.

"Why the bloody hell are you sitting here?" he snapped at her, trying to hide his shock.

"I'm partnering with you, smart one. I'm an Aries, and all the other Capricorns are taken. Believe me, I would rather kill myself than pair with you, but it seems that I have no choice, since I don't exactly fancy the idea of jumping from a six-story window since I'm a tad bit afraid of heights," she responded.

Malfoy clenched his jaw and looked down as Trelawney began to speak again.

"Now I want you and your partner to keep track of your behavioral patterns, mood swings, attitudes, etc. At the end of the week you will compare your results with those written in this pamphlet that I will be passing out later." She held up a copy of a booklet that said "Astrology & You" on the cover. "Class dismissed," she said.

Draco made his way down the creaky stairs, lost in his own thoughts, when suddenly the person in front of him lost their footing and began to fall. Usually when a poor fellow was in this state, Draco would just let them crash to the floor. Something inside him told him to catch the person. They let out a scream as they landed in his arms. He looked down and saw that he was holding McQuerie. He stared into her deep hazel eyes, in a trance. Her body was soft and small, and he felt as if she belonged there.

"Um, thanks, you can put me down now," she said, breaking their eye contact.

He rolled his eyes as he set her on the step below him. She scurried off, late for her next class. Malfoy proceeded down the few remaining steps slowly. He walked towards his dormitories, in the opposite direction of his classmates. He had no intention of attending his next class. He sighed as he continued to walk down the hallway.

"Alright, you like her. Admit it," he thought to himself. "But how can I get her to like me in return?" Then, he remembered the Astrology project. A grin crept on to his lips as he entered the Slytherin common room. Never until now was he actually looking forward to a Divination assignment.
