Sometimes the snow comes down in June

Sometimes the sun goes round the moon

I see the passion in your eyes

Sometimes it's all a big surprise

Harry Potter stepped through the portrait hole into the Gryffindor room and spotted his two best friends, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, sitting at one of the tables, Ron complaining about his homework and Hermione paying little attention, if any, and concentrating instead on her Arithmancy book. Harry ran eagerly up to the table and knocked on it cheerfully to get their attention.

"Harry!" Ron exclaimed, ceasing his complaining immediately, glad for a reason to stop...studying.

Hermione look up and looked at Harry's face, into his eyes. "He's in love again," she said exasperatedly. "Wonder how long this one will last."

Every other week Harry would fall in love with some girl, (where did they all come from?) and chase her until he became bored, and he would fall in love with someone else. Lately, Harry had slowed down, but that didn't stop him from following girls with his eyes, or, following them completely. The girls would giggle, flattered, and sashay around for him until suddenly they would find that he wasn't paying any attention to them at all anymore.

Cause there was a time when all I did was wish

You'd tell me this was love

It's not the way I hoped or how I planned

But somehow it's enough

"It's REAL this time, Hermione! This girl makes me feel so alive and happy and she makes me want to do more good than ever! She's smart and she's funny and she's pretty and clever and she is perfect for me, for anybody! She could make someone's day better, just with a smile. And she is always willing to help. She'll even break rules to do what needs to be done for her friends. I actually think I have felt this way for a long time, I've just now noticed it completely, though."

Hermione stood up, slamming her book shut, and she looked Harry in the face, it had just been just one too many times.

And now we're standing face-to-face

Isn't this world a crazy place?

Just when I thought our chance had passed

You go and save the best for last

"Harry!" She shrieked at him, "You claim that every girl you see has been real love. You haven't ever been in love. How do you even know if it is real or not? You don't know what love is!"

All of the nights you came to me

When some silly girl had set you free

You wondered how you'd make it through

I wondered what was wrong with you

"Every week you come to me and tell me about these girls, Harry, every week it is someone different. You aren't able to keep straight of how many girls it has been! Do you know how much it hurts me Harry?" then she stopped and almost clapped her hands over her mouth. "I mean--it makes me really mad! Do you know how many girls you must hurt? You can't just treat girls as if they're objects to be tossed aside!"

Cause how could you give your love to someone else

And share your dreams with me

Sometimes the very thing you're looking for

Is the one thing you can't see?

It was true. Hermione loved Harry, she had for years. And everyday Harry would come to the common room, his eyes shining with happiness and he would head straight to Hermione and Ron to tell her all about the new girl and she would hold the pain in; until now.

But now we're standing face-to-face

Isn't this world a crazy place?

Just when I thought our chance had passed

You go and save the best for last

Harry snapped his head to look at Hermione, his eyes searching, and then looked away. "Hermione, how many girls hearts do you actually think that I've broken? Or better yet, how many hearts do you know for sure?"

In a small voice, she answered him. But Harry didn't catch it, he swiveled his head once more so that he was looking directly into Hermione's eyes. She stared defiantly back into his, refusing to look away.

"What was that that you said, Hermione?"

Didn't he already know?

Sometimes the very thing you're looking for

Is the one thing you can't see.

"Harry," Hermione said, still refusing to look away, her voice gaining strength. "I know for sure of one. Mine. And you never see it. You always just come and tell me about the girls, tell me how much you care, and you never notice my pain. Never."

Hermione lost the fight and looked down at the ground, embarrassed.

Sometimes the snow comes down in June

Sometimes the sun goes round the moon

Just when I thought our chance had passed

You go and save the best for last

"Hermione," Harry said and gently slid his fingers under her chin and lifted her face up to his. "You're the one that I love. I was just too stupid to see it before; I was a silly boy who never saw a good thing when it came along. I was too afraid that I would lose what was meant to be. I am so sorry for everything that I have done to you. And, Hermione, it's you that I need."

You went and saved the best for last... yeah
