Author's Note:
yay! This was sent back because of the dialogue, but I tried to fix it. I just can't stand dialogue, give me miles of description any day. I know that the song belongs to Avril Lavigne, but I changed a few of the lyrics to fit in with the Potter theme a little better. I think they're cute (some of them). This is dedicated to Tapioca Guy, Pink, Cracker and Mr. Fox (okay, fine they're all the same person.) Also dedicated to the Pickle Repeller, who was always there to help.

Draco Malfoy sat at the Slytherin table alone. He picked at his treacle tart with the wrong end of his fork and at from beside him he heard a low, ugly, voice rumble out to him.

"Are you going to eat that? Because if not," the big brute reached over with poor Draco's permission and pulled the tart off the plate, shoving it greedily into his mouth. The boy swallowed and continued, grinning toothily, "I can dispose of it for you."

Draco sneered at the treacle thief.

Without the distraction of food on Draco's plate, he looked around the Great Hall which was full of chattering students finishing breakfast. He glanced at the Ravenclaw table and caught sight of an Asian girl flipping her hair flirtingly at a tall, lean boy. Draco tried to recall their names, but he never did take much time to remember names. He examined the girl closer; remembering her as the girl that Harry stared at all of the time. He really didn't see what Potter liked about her so much. Speaking of Potter...

Draco's eyes flitted to the Gryffindor table and Draco was ashamed of himself; using Potter as an excuse. Potter mattered little at that table. Everyone worshipped him, but there were others so much more deserving than him.

As Draco watched, the girl that he admired the most smiled, and, ooh boy, it was a beautiful smile. Heck, everything about her was beautiful. From her bushy hair all the way down to her nice, sensible shoes. But, wait, who was that that she was smiling so brilliantly for? Definitely not him. No no - it was Potter.

"Potter," he spat viciously.

Crabbe and Goyle grunted questioningly from either side of him.

Realizing that he would have to tell them something, Draco used his quick mind and announced, "Oh, I said...said...said 'water', because I must have ...accidentally...swallowed a...a bug." And saying so, Draco grabbed his goblet and took a swig under the oblivious eyes of his oversized sidekicks.

The two hooligans shrugged at each other and Draco's eyes slid once more to the Gryffindor table and he saw that the group had left the table. His eyes scanned the group, calculating who all was included; Potter (of course), Hermione, Weasley, the younger Weasley, those two giggly girls, and that bloke with the thick Irish accent. Hermione was talking animatedly with the younger Weasley (Ginny, he reminded himself, the girl in the Chamber) and her face was so alight. God, she was so beautiful.

Without thinking, the pale boy had leapt away from the table accompanied by the dismayed cries of his two thugs, who were nowhere near able to leap away like that, and had began across the Great Hall, following the Gryffindor group out. As Draco walked he tried to make himself stop, he knew he was abandoning everything he had built for himself. He was dashing it to pieces across the floor, and all because of a girl that hated him. Love makes you do stupid things, Draco thought viciously to himself.

He was a boy, she was a girl,

Can I make it any more obvious?
He was an arse;
she got straight A's,

What more can I say?

The group was out in the hallway when Draco reached them. As the doors to the Great Hall closed behind him, he cleared his throat and everyone turned towards him.

"What now, Malfoy?" Harry groaned, his shoulders sagging.

Draco ignored Harry and turned to Hermione, who had a mixed expression on her face; she looked almost pleased, but then she also looked terrified to see him there. The entire group advanced (minus Hermione) on Draco, but he ignored them and continued looking to Hermione. It was then that Draco expressed his love to her, in the hallway, for everyone to hear.

As soon as he finished his rather expressive, impressive, and extensive speech Hermione stood dumbfounded. Lavender and Parvati responded quickly, covering their mouths and giggling like Hyenas. Draco shot them a murderous glare, but it was hard to take him seriously after everything he had just confessed to Hermione.

Lavender and Parvati turned to Hermione, and Parvati, after she had finished laughing, told Hermione what she thought that she needed to know, "Hermione, come on, you know what a snob Draco Malfoy is. Think of all of the names he has called you. And besides," her eyes slid over to Draco and back again, "he's...evil. Also, look at him; he'll never grow up to be anything but a Death Eater or something. You can manage better than him. And think of how much he would cost, look at how expensive his clothes are."

He wanted her, she'd never tell,

But secretly she wanted him as well.

But all of her friends,

Stuck up their nose,

They had a problem with his costly clothes.

"Don't be so nasty, Parvati," Ginny exclaimed unexpectedly.

Draco turned once more to Hermione, hopefully, but he knew. It was written all over her face.

She mustered up as amused of a laugh as she could. "Yeah, right, Malfoy, see you later, you smarmy arse."

He was a Snobby Boy,

She said see you later boy.

He wasn't good enough for her.

She had a pretty face,

But her head was off in space,

She needed to come back down to earth.

(@<@)FIVE YEARS FROM NOW (@>@)

Hermione picked the crying baby, Zachary, out of his makeshift crib. Harry had been gone for about a year now, and she had little faith in his return. The two had moved in together soon after Hogwarts. Harry had been offered a good job, being Harry Potter, and he accepted gratefully. Soon he was just getting more and more promotions. Last time she had seen him he had been just under the Minister of Magic. While his power grew, so did his head and Harry had changed very much since Hogwarts. He was sleeping around, he was drinking too much and he was doing pretty much whatever he wanted. He was, after all, Harry Potter, no one could fire him.

As soon as Zach had fallen asleep she sighed and slumped into a nearby chair, pulling the newest Daily Prophet towards her. She flipped it open to the front page and gasped. On the front page she saw a picture of Draco. His picture self was pacing about on a stage and obviously speaking very animatedly to a crowd. He was actually doing something with his life, unlike her, stuck at home alone.

Five years from now,

She sits at home,

Feeding the baby she's all alone,

Opens the paper, guess what she sees,

Snobby Boy shaking up MOM.

A tear crawled down Hermione's cheek and she immediately went to her fire and, throwing in a powder, she called for Parvati. Hermione's head immediately appeared in Parvati's fire.

"Parvati!" Hermione called out and Parvati came into view, followed quickly by Lavender. "Have you heard? Have you heard about Draco!?"

"Yeah," Parvati said eagerly, "and he has a speech nearby soon, Lavender and I are going. Do you want to come along with us?"

"Yeah, come on, Hermione!" Lavender said happily.

Hermione stuttered. This wasn't how they were supposed to react. They were supposed to feel...sorry for her. It was their fault that she wasn't with him. Their fault that she was home alone with Harry's child. But...Hermione checked herself. The final choice had been hers alone. Hermione couldn't fairly blame them.

"Sure," she said dully.

"Fantastic!" they cried, oblivious to Hermione's upset demeanor, and Hermione's head disappeared from the fire.

She calls up her friends, they already know

And they've all got tickets to see him speak.

She tags along, but stands in the crowd.

Looks up at the man that she turned down!

At the Ministry during one of Draco's famous speeches

As Draco was speaking, Ginny watched him happily. He was hers because Hermione was too stupid to see what a great person he was; too silly to see his potential. Ginny used to consider Hermione a good friend, but then she had gone and done that to Draco. He had told her how much he loved her in front of a group of Gryffindors and she had...she had snubbed him like he meant nothing! Like all of a sudden, Hermione had become the most beautiful creature in the world and men were falling at her feet. No. The last thing that Ginny had heard about Hermione was that Harry and Hermione had a child, but Hermione was home alone.

Draco stepped off the platform, his face a livid, excited red and looked around for Ginny, spotting her bright hair and stepping over quickly and happily.

"I'm reeling them in, Ginny," he said, bending down and breathing in her ear. "Look at what I've created!" he said while waving his arm to indicate the crowds of people talking about the news Draco had shared in his speech, discussing his views. "People are talking about something important for once!"

Ginny was proud of Draco for actually being something in the world, and doing it on his own. It was much better than getting jobs just because of your name. Draco wasn't a simple boy who was always an arse. He was actually very multi-dimensional. He could go from insulting to loving in two seconds. Just like anyone else he had completely different emotions.

Sorry, girl but you missed out.

Well, tough luck, that boy's mine now,

We are more than just good friends,

This is how the story ends.

Too bad that you couldn't see,

See the man that boy could be.

There is more than meets the eye.

I see all that's all there is inside.

Ginny smiled and flicked his nose playfully. Draco was just being his arrogant self again. But she knew how sweet he could be. He went out of his way to make sure that Ginny was happy. After all, Ginny was the one who had saved him after Hermione. Ginny had approached him after he was 'burned' for the first time and she had apologized for Hermione. Draco hadn't cared, not then. But over time, he realized what a great person she made him feel like, and how great of a person she was.

He's just a boy, and I'm just a girl.

Can I make it any more obvious?

We are in love, haven't you heard,

How we rock each others world?

Ginny and Draco were in love. Passionate love and they would always have each other. They both knew what it felt like to be rejected by someone, and they knew how to make each other feel better.

An overly excited reporter bumped into Ginny and she fell into Draco. Draco wrapped his arms around her waist and she smiled up at him, he would always be there to catch her and it made her luckiest girl in the world.
