Hey, Hello, bonjour, guten tag. This....is...a....slash! OK? None the less, I want to know what you think...unless you're going to flame me. Then I don't care. Just a warning! So ENJOY!

You are my sunshine

Draco was so happy and so scared, all at the same time. The Dark Lord was finally dead. At long, long last, he was finally gone. So was his father, and Blaise, and anyone else that could possibly make his life miserable. They were gone, every one. But where was the one person who could make his life worth living?

"Harry!" he yelled into the dark cold December air. His eyes traced the long blanket of bone-white snow with large bulges here and there that he wished he couldn't recognize. He gripped his cloak just that much closer to him and ventured just that much further in the crisp snow.

"Harry!" he yelled again. Draco saw something familiar: Hedwig flying toward him and landing softly on his shoulder. Despite her age, she could still land on your shoulder in a way that you could barely feel her. She nipped his ear and flew into the darkness. He followed her, which was surprisingly easy, with her white body against the dark night sky. He was so bent on following Hedwig that he didn't see who he was tripping over until he was spitting out snow. He turned slowly to find Ronald Weasley lying still in the snow. No! Oh, how will Granger react? Draco thought, clamping his hand over his mouth. But walking a little further, he found he wouldn't need to tell Hermione anything.

Still further he walked, seeing people he would miss and people he would celebrate never having to see again, until he saw, in front of him, the small white body of a certain white bird perched on a branch over a certain boy.

"Merlin, no, please no!" Draco breathed, sprinting to Harry's side, kneeling in the freezing snow. He placed Harry's head on his knees, stroking his hair lovingly as if he had always been there. "Harry..." Draco sobbed, praying for an answer. "Harry..."

Harry's eyelids fluttered and opened lazily to stare at Draco. He smiled his award-winning smile, weaker then ever before, exposing bright red teeth.

"Draco. I thought I wouldn't be able to say goodbye."

"You won't need to! You're not going anywhere. You hear me, Harry? Answer me," Draco whispered gently.

Harry looked at him with his bright, lovely green eyes. "I love you, Draco."

"I love you too. That's why you can't leave! DAMN IT, Harry, no!" Draco whimpered, still holding Harry's head in his lap.

"Draco?"

"Yeah?"

"Where are Ron and Hermione?"

Draco bit his lip, trying to think of the best way to tell him. "You'll see them soon, ok? Just stay with me, please!" Draco begged. He knew he made it sound like they were alive, but he didn't care. And besides, Harry would see them either way so he wasn't lying.

"I got him, Draco." Harry smiled again, eyes glistening, shinny as marbles full with unused tears as he weakly pointed to a large bulge not fifty feet away. "He's gone and he can never come back. Not to hurt you, not to hurt anyone." Harry gave a small laugh, which sent him into a horrible coughing fit that lasted well over a minute. Once it was finally over, Harry lay there very still, a small river of blood trickling out of the right side of his mouth.

Wiping the small drops of blood from his own face Draco took out his handkerchief and wiped the blood off Harry's.

"Draco?"

"Yeah?"

"Sing to me. Please?" Draco smiled weakly.

"Of course, love. Name the song."

"The one you sang me on our first date. You know, don't you?"

Of course Draco knew. How could he not? The song always reminded him of Harry (and it was the only muggle song he knew). He swallowed hard and began.

"You are my sunshine my only sunshine you make me happy when skies are gray. You'll never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away."

Draco had to stop if only for a second if he hadn't he would have started to cry and he wanted to stay composed for Harry's sake.

"Don't stop, Draco," Harry mumbled weakly

"Last night, dear, while I was sleeping, I dreamt I held you in my arms. When I awakened I was mistaken, so I hung my head and cried. He could feel Harry shift, but he kept going, knowing if he really stopped, he would cry for sure. Draco shut his eyes. He just had to. He couldn't watch Harry like this, not anymore.

"Please don't take my sunshine away," he finished in a small whisper. Draco once again felt Harry shift. He opened his eyes to discover Harry pulling him down to his level.

With a last burst of strength gave him one last kiss. Tears tumbled down Draco's face. He never wanted the kiss to end, ever, but he could feel Harry beginning to pull away.

"Happy Christmas, Draco," Harry breathed. Draco felt Harry become heavy and limp in his arms. Tears still warm on Draco's face, he blinked. Harry was gone.

"Please don't take my sunshine away."
