I want to thank everyone who takes the time to read this. I really appreciate it!

Harry Potter was having a very miserable summer. Not only did he have to stay with his Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia, and incredibly spoiled cousin Dudley, but they were even more cruel and mean to him than ever before!

It was Harry's seventeenth birthday and of course they didn't give him any presents. No cake. No cards...no nothing! Totally ignored it. Instead, what did they make him do? House chores. And a lot of them.

All day long he scrubbed the floors, dusted the furniture, cleaned the dishes by hand, mowed both the front lawn and backyard, and cleaned Dudley's extremely messy room. The house work made him feel like Cinderella.

And he couldn't eat dinner until he had finished serving everyone else's dinners. That meant all of their dishes were cleaned up when they were done. There wasn't much chicken left, since Dudley had eaten nearly half of it.

"Did you finish cleaning the dishes, boy?" Uncle Vernon asked him through gritted teeth.

"Yes, sir," Harry mumbled.

His aunt, uncle, and cousin were still sitting at the kitchen table. Uncle Vernon looked doubtfully over at Aunt Petunia.

"Do you think we should tell him?" Uncle Vernon asked her, a worried expression on his chubby face.

Aunt Petunia shrugged. "Go ahead, Vernon...it doesn't make much of a difference to me." Harry thought for a second that they might have been planning a birthday surprise for him...but he never got his hopes up.

Uncle Vernon groaned. "There was a letter for you in the mail today," he growled. "And it was sent by Owl Post...you know we don't appreciate that, Harry! Have you been sending letters to those weirdo friends of yours at that freak place again?"

The freak place Uncle Vernon was talking about was Harry's school - Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry was a wizard - a famous wizard - and the Dursleys wanted nothing to do with magic. Harry's two best friends were Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger...Ron was also a wizard while Hermione was a witch. All three of them were going into their last year at Hogwarts.

The truth was, Harry hadn't been able to send his friends letters because his beloved snowy white owl, Hedwig, had been locked up in her cage all summer - courtesy of Uncle Vernon.

Uncle Vernon took the letter out of his pocket and thrust it to Harry. Harry made a quick grab for it before Dudley's chubby fingers reached it. Harry didn't recognize the writing on the envelope. It couldn't have been from Ron or Hermione, because their handwriting were totally recognizable.

Harry glanced at the small return address. The name that was on the return address was C. Chang. At first he didn't recognize the name. Then it hit him. The only person he knew who's last name was Chang was Cho Chang...Harry's long-time crush.

But why would Cho Chang be writing to him? He couldn't possibly dream that Cho even liked him. He thought she liked Cedric Diggory, another wizard who died during his fourth year at Hogwarts.

"Who's it from, boy?" came Uncle Vernon's gruff voice.

"Uh...no one important, Uncle Vernon," Harry answered quickly. Then before the Dursleys could say anymore, Harry dashed up the stairs to his room without even thinking twice about his dinner.

Harry shut the door tightly and jumped on his bed. He ripped open the letter and started to read:

Dear Harry,

I know it may seem quite awkward for me to be writing to you but I've been having these really strange, yet wonderful, dreams about you and I being together. Have you been having dreams like that? (I know, stupid question...you probably aren't even interested at all in me!) I was wondering if your aunt and uncle would let you come and visit me sometime before you go back to Hogwarts - I really need to tell you something that I can't write down in words!

Sincerely yours,

Cho Chang

PS: If you don't know where I live, my address is written on the envelope! Also, my family would just die to meet you!

It was a very short letter, but Harry was thrilled to hear from Cho. What he really couldn't believe was that Cho Chang was actually dreaming about him! Maybe this summer wasn't as bad as he thought it would be.
