Chapter Four

Harry felt very uncomfortable that night as he slept in Draco's bed. He wanted his own bed back. Dinner at the Malfoys' had also been very nerve-wrecking. Lucius Malfoy kept on discussing Lord Voldemort's return to power and how he felt as though the Ministry of Magic won't have the knowledge or power to bring him back down. He thought Lucius had sounded quite pleased by this, which only made Harry furious at him.

How dare he talk about Voldemort like that...Voldemort had murdered my mum and dad and a bunch of other people! How could he be a follower of someone like that? Harry thought, staring up at the dark ceiling of Draco's large bedroom.

Lucius Malfoy made the Dursleys seem like decent, caring human beings. I wonder if Lucius knows Voldemort is only half-and-half and not a pure-blood like himself!

The next day Harry would be returning to Hogwarts. Harry and Draco promised to sit with each other on the train and discuss how they were going to get their lives back to normal. Maybe they could talk to Dumbledore about it...perhaps Dumbledore could find a way to get them back to normal. Dumbledore seemed to know a lot, so maybe Dumbledore could help them.

Early the next morning, one of the Malfoy servants woke Harry up. "Time to get ready to go to school!" she said. Harry groaned, but was soon ready to go.

"We're going to be traveling today by Floo-Powder, Draco," Lucius announced at breakfast. Harry gritted his teeth; he had traveled by Floo-Powder before with the Weasleys and soon learned that Floo-Powder definitely wasn't his favorite way of traveling. "I want you to be on the train early so you won't miss it."

Harry was sure Draco was an expert at Floo-Powder. Would the Malfoys notice something odd if he had trouble with it? Harry quickly gulped down his breakfast and in a half an hour, they had arrived at Platform 9 ¾ and luckily, Harry hadn't messed up the Floo-Powder.

After the Malfoys left and said goodbye to him, Harry started searching around the platform to see if he could find Draco. In a few minutes, Harry had found Draco standing with the Weasleys and Hermione Granger. Harry could tell Draco was trying really hard to look as though he didn't absolutely despise being with them, but Harry noticed Draco's frown and sneer every time the Weasleys and Hermione looked away from him.

Harry ran over to them. Everyone stared at him.

"What do you want, Malfoy?" Ron demanded, stepping up in front of Harry. Harry noticed that Ron had grown several inches over the summer because he had gotten much taller, taller than he already was.

Harry cleared his throat. "I, um...want to talk to, um Draco...I mean, Harry!" he sputtered quickly.

Hermione's eyes opened wide. "You want to talk to Harry?" she asked in awe.

Harry nodded. "Er, yeah..."

Draco walked up to them. "Uh, yeah...Draco wants to talk to me. It'll only take a few minutes, guys. I'll be right back." Hermione and the Weasleys stared at the two as they left, going off to a corner.

"What?" Draco demanded impatiently, he narrowed his eyes at Harry.

"You didn't tell me how awful your parents were!" Harry exclaimed. "Did you know your father talks about Voldemort as though Voldemort didn't do anything wrong?"

"Yeah, well did you know those Muggle relatives of yours treat you like dirt and make you do all those chores? While you didn't have to do anything all day, I was doing all of your chores!" Draco shot back. "You owe me big time, Potter!"

"Not as much as you owe me!" Harry retorted. "But whatever, let's just get on the train and find an empty compartment where we won't be bothered and discuss this thing over...I think Dumbledore may be able to help us."

"Dumbledore, yeah right," Draco snorted in reply. "I don't think ol' Dumbledore would be able to change us back..."

The train ride to Hogwarts was a complete mess. Ron and Hermione were both angry at him when Draco told them he wanted to spend some time alone with Harry. And all the while, they couldn't come up with any other solutions except tell Dumbledore about what happened.

Harry soon realized that this was going to be a long school year.
