Chapter 1

Fifteen-year-old Harry Potter was taking a walk down Privet Drive...trying to get away from his relatives, the Dursleys. His Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia were practically screaming at their spoiled son, Dudley Dursley, who refused to corporate with his diet that he was supposed to be on.

Dudley kept sneaking in snacks and fatty foods all summer long until his parents finally found out. Now Dudley was practically sobbing at the fact that Uncle Vernon wasn't going to give him anymore pocket money. Personally, Harry thought Dudley deserved it, but didn't dare to say that aloud to Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia.

Now, being outside of house number four, it was quite peaceful and pleasant. And very quiet. Harry liked things that way. Suddenly, as Harry continued to walk, he saw someone coming towards him. The person looked very familiar. But it couldn't be...could it?

If Harry wasn't mistaken, that person was Draco Malfoy, Harry's arch rival at their school of Hogwarts Witchcraft and Wizardry. But what would Malfoy be doing on Privet Drive?

Draco hadn't seen Harry, because they soon bumped into each other. When Harry fell down on the ground, Draco looked down at him and gave him a sly smile. "Well, if it isn't Potter," he sneered. "The famous, wonderful Potter...where are your friends, Potter? Where are Weasel and Mudblood?"

Draco was talking about Harry's two best friends from Hogwarts - Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Draco's nickname for Ron was "Weasel" (even though to Harry, Ron certainly didn't look like a weasel), and Draco's nickname for Hermione was "Mudblood" (an extremely offensive term pure-blooded wizards and witches sometimes called witches and wizards who were born from Muggle families).

"You know, I really wish you would stop making fun of Ron and Hermione," Harry shot at him. "I don't make fun of your friends..." Draco hung around with two fat, spacey loons named Crabbe and Goyle. They always did whatever Malfoy did.

"Well, wish on, Potter!" Draco sniggered.

Harry had enough of Draco. One of the very few things he liked about summer vacation was not having to be around Draco Malfoy. And now Draco Malfoy had showed up on Privet Drive!

Great! Just my luck, Harry thought bitterly to himself. What's he doing here anyway? Suddenly, Harry eyed something sparkly that was on the ground right beside Draco's feet.

Putting his eyes more into focus around the sparkling object, he realized that it was a stone! A strange stone...nothing like the gray pebbles he normally saw on the streets, sidewalks, and just about everywhere else.

As Draco was telling him how Harry should've become friends with him instead of Ron and Hermione, Harry bent down and picked up the stone. It felt very odd as he held it. That's when Draco spotted the stone.

"Hey - what do you got, Potter?" Draco demanded. He was staring at the stone in Harry's hand.

Harry shrugged. "Dunno," he replied slowly. Harry started turning it around in his hands, observing it. "It's some sort of stone..."

"Hey - it's sparkling! It must be valuable! Give it here," Draco insisted. He held out his hand but Harry didn't turn it over. "Where did you find it, Potter?"

"On the ground beside your feet," said Harry.

"I must've dropped it," Draco insisted. "It's mine so give it back!"

"It's not yours," Harry exclaimed. "You just wish it was." At that, Draco leapt at him. Harry held out his arm with the stone and almost instantly as Draco touched it, there was a flash of white bright light.

The light was so blinding Harry couldn't see a thing. The light had filled the sky. When the light cleared a few seconds later, Harry felt very strange. He looked over at Draco.

"Hey - that's my body!" he suddenly shouted at Draco.

"And that's my body!" Draco shouted back. The two stared down at the stone, still in Harry's hand. Harry's mind was in Draco's body...and Draco's mind was in his body!

"Maybe we should try and touch the stone again," he suggested to Draco. Draco nodded, and as he held the stone, Draco put his hand on top of the stone. They waited for the flash of light to come...but it didn't.

No bright white light.
