Breaking Point- Chapter one
The cool breeze of the night air was on her face. She loved the night much more than day. It brought about a sense of peace in her. A sense that made her feel completely Happy. It was feeling quite different from what she felt during the day. During the day she felt trapped like an Owl squeezed into a cage a where it barely has room to spread its wings.
She hated feeling like that. She would give anything to feel the way she did at night during the day. It would make it a lot easier for her to manage. Between her classes and her boyfriend she was beginning to feel the affects of staying up to enjoy the night. It was no ones fault it was just that there was just something missing in her life that made her feel incomplete, like there was a hole inside her that she just couldn't fill.
'Ginny! McGonagall's on her way we have to go,' came the voice of her boyfriend.
'Just a second Jake!' she yelled as she jumped down from The window sill she'd been sitting in.
After saying their goodbyes they both headed off for their separate common rooms. As soon as Ginny reached hers she got under the covers not bothering to change into her night clothes, and drifted off into a peaceful sleep.
Her last thought was that she was glad that it was a Friday because no one would care if she slept all day, or not.
~~**~*~*~*~**~~
Ginny was turning in her sleep only to be awoken by the sunlight that was creeping in through the window. She made a grab to close her curtain that she had neglected the night before, and tried to get a hold of the slumber that had been stolen from her.
She soon found that it was a battle that she wasn't going to win and pulled the covers off of her to head over to the bathroom. She looked over at the magical alarm clock before she went. It read that it was still only six o'clock in the morning.
She groaned, rubbing the crust from sleep away from her eyes and began to run herself a bath. It wasn't long before she heard the other girls begin to stir awake and she began to dry herself off. She nearly fainted in the process because she had put the water slightly too hot.
She held her hand to her head before she began to pull on a pair of trousers. It wasn't long before she began to hear hammering on the door for her to hurry up. She Quickened her pace slightly and left the bathroom only to hear groans from the other girls as someone else got in before them.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Although her need for sleep was still nagging at the back of her mind as she stepped out of the Gryffindor common room, she had to drag herself down the steps or be trampled by the students rushing to breakfast so they could get any early start on their homework that had turned into a mountainous pile.
The Great Hall was all ready filling with endless chatter that seemed to echo loudly off the vast walls. The enchanted ceiling reflected the beautiful sunny Saturday morning awaiting eagerly for Hogwarts students to come frolic in.
Ginny groaned. The noise...the light. It was all too much at once. She plopped herself near the end of the Gryffindor House table and pulled bacon and eggs onto the plate in front of her. Before even taking the first bite out of her eggs, Jake came and placed his hands over her eyes.
'Guess who?'
'Mornin' , Jake..' she said groggily.
Jake slid in beside his girlfriend, 'What's up, Gin?'
Ginny shrugged and began to nibble on her slowly cooling scrambled eggs. Pushing her plate away, Ginny stood up and began to retreat out of the Great Hall, which was slowly filling up with hungry students.
'Wherza shoujin?' Jake said through a mouthful of food.
Ginny rolled her eyes out of the Hall.
'Jhin?' Jake yelled while trying to swallow bits of toast.
~*~*~*~*~
Ginny sat on the center of her bed, with curtains drawn to keep the sunlight out while she worked on her homework. The first and longest piece of homework was for Transfiguration to study for her N.E.W.T.s. Professor McGonagall strictly instructed a 5 foot essay,
'No more...no less,' Ginny mumbled.
Her quill scratching furiously on her parchment, Ginny was sure to write down everything she had learned in Transfiguration since her first year. 'From beetles to buttons..' Ginny paused. She forgot how to transform beetles into buttons. She frantically pulled her curtains aside.
'Loco motor!'
Her trunk magically glided over to her as if being pulled on invisible strings. She dropped it and quickly threw open the lid, searching for all her notes.
'Charms year 4...History of Magic year 1....History year 6....Potions year 1 and 2...TRANSFIGURATION!' Ginny yanked up the paper but quickly threw it back down, 'year...4. UGH! Forget this!'
Ginny closed her trunk and threw her homework and year 7 school books onto her trunk and closed her curtains again, plopping on her bed.
Her ceiling was reflecting the sun's rays and it was far too bright. Grabbing a pillow from under her head, she jammed it over her face.
Muttering, 'You can do this, Ginny ol' girl. Don't lose your cool. No one needs to know your stressed out. Just stay happy and cheerful and listen to the teachers and no one will know the difference.'Ginny laughed nervously.
'I hope.'
