Harry gripped his wand tightly in his hand and muttered, "Okay, Voldemort, I'm ready."

"Famous Harry Potter," the cold voice sneered.

"Famous Lord Voldemort," Harry shot back.

"Oh, so you're a comic now, eh, Potter?"

"And you're a good-for-nothing murderer," Harry said, looking around, trying to figure out which direction the voice was coming from.

A dark cloaked man emerged from the shadows, followed by a short, fat man, whom Harry recognized as Wormtail.

Then, one more cloaked person appeared. The person inside the cloak came into view, Bellatrix Lestrange.

"I only kill those who stand in my way," Voldemort said as he walked toward Harry, Bellatrix and Peter following faithfully behind him. "You've gotten in my way too many times, Potter."

"You killed my parents and my godfather. Do you expect me to just stand aside and let you kill everyone I've ever loved?" Harry asked.

Voldemort didn't say anything, but menacingly walked around the room, not looking at Harry. Bellatrix and Wormtail followed, watching their master's every move.

"Don't you ever go anywhere alone?" Harry mocked him.

"I feel it is best to be accompanied when I proceed with my killings. It does feel better knowing that I have bait if needed."

Peter shuddered.

"Now, Potter, if you are ready, I will do what I came here to do," Voldemort said, raising his wand high into the air.

"Expelliarmus!" Harry shouted quickly.

Voldemort's wand flew out of his hand and onto the ground. Wormtail scrambled to grab it, but Harry shouted, "Accio wand!" before Peter could reach it.

Harry caught the wand in his left hand, nearly dropping it. He pointed his own wand at Voldemort, Bellatrix, and Wormtail.

"Don't move," Harry commanded.

Wormtail moved in front of Voldemort, got down on both knees, and begged, "Please, don't kill my master. Kill me instead."

"Wormtail, I'm not that stupid. I know all about that kind of magic," Harry said, shaking his head and grinning.

"You seem to be forgetting that I am the greatest sorcerer in the world," Voldemort said before vanishing.

Bellatrix and Wormtail stayed where they were and stared into Harry's eyes. Harry held Voldemort's wand and his own tightly in his hands.

Harry glanced at the shelf of prophecies behind him and remembered scenes from a few months ago; Sirius falling behind the veil, Lupin telling him it was too late, and the waving of the veil in the wind.

Harry was suddenly overwhelmed by Sirius' death. "Avada Kedavra!" Harry yelled, pointing his wand at Bellatrix.

A flash of green light erupted from Harry's wand, shooting forward at Bellatrix until it hit her in the chest.

She hadn't even had the chance to scream before the light hit her. She merely fell to the ground like an old rag doll.

Harry angrily pointed his wand at Peter, ready to kill him, but stopped abruptly, remembering Dumbledore's words: "Pettigrew owes his life to you. You have sent Voldemort a deputy who is in your debt... When one wizard saves another wizard's life, it creates a certain bond between them... and I'm much mistaken if Voldemort wants his servant in debt to Harry Potter."

Peter whimpered with fear as Harry slowly lowered his wand. "Damn it," Harry muttered.

Peter curiously opened his eyes and stared at Harry. "You're not going to kill me?"

"No," Harry said rather quietly. "There's a bond between us."

"What?"

"Three years ago, I spared you your life," Harry reminded him. "I told Sirius and Lupin not to kill you. You are in debt to me.

"I want you to help me."

Peter stared at Harry, obviously in shock. "So, you're not going to kill me?"

Harry shook his head. "I won't kill you if you help me defeat Voldemort," Harry told him. Peter shuddered weakly at the name.

Harry stared into Peter's eyes, waiting for Peter to reply.

Slowly, Peter nodded. Peter agreed to repay Harry; repay Harry for sparing his life, for killing Harry's parents, and for changing Harry's life forever.
