The Dragon's Debt - Chapter 2

The room was dark, dank, and dreary. Although there was a fire ablaze, it seemed to be doing little to no good in warming the room. There were no portraits hanging on the walls. There were no plants - if they could live in that room it would be quite a shocker. There were no decorations of any kind. There was however an old antique chair centered in the room on top of an Old Persian rug. The chair was worn leather, black of course.

The presence in the room was like how the room looked. Cold, evil, and dark. Sitting in the chair was the evilest wizard that ever walked the face of the earth. To his left was his one of his servants. To his right was a long snake, waiting for any orders that may come from its master.

There was a POP as someone apparated into the room. The man who had just entered bent down and kissed the hem of the other wizard's robes saying, "Master, you wanted to see me." The Master was known as Lord Voldemort. "Stand up, Lucius." Lucius obeyed quickly and stood facing his Master who was still sitting in the chair.

"Lucius," Voldemort said, "Lucius you are my best Death Eater," he paused, "I regard you a friend. And as you very well know, I don't regard just anyone as a friend." "Yes, Master," Lucius said.

Voldemort continued, "You have never betrayed me, never lied to me, and have always done everything that I asked. Your son, Draco, has also done these things. He should be here now, but I feel that he wouldn't like what I am going to purpose." Pause... "I," Voldemort started, "also feel that his judgment is not as well rounded as yours just yet, seeing as he is only twenty-one years of age."

There was a pause. Lucius then said, "I understand, Master, what is it you're going to purpose."

"Well Lucius, as you are probably well aware of, I am getting old. I still have quite a few years to live and rule over the wizarding world but I am not going to live forever. I want to have an heir."

"Yes, Master, of course. Someone who can follow in your footsteps."

"That's correct Lucius. But I don't want to deal with women or the raising of a child. I am too old for that. I just want to rule and that's all but I need to have something to leave behind. So that's where you and more importantly Draco come in. I want Draco to have my heir."

"Yes, Master," Lucius said again, without emotion, although he was excited. This had to be one of the biggest honors for a Death Eater.

"Now, you, Lucius, must find Draco a wife. I don't want my heir to be born to one of his whores."

"Of course not, Master."

"This must be done within a year. I would like to see my heir grow up. I want to show him my ways. You understand?"

"Yes."

"Good. You may go now."

**

"Father, you wanted to see me?"

"Yes, Draco," Lucius said.

"I have just been to see the Dark Lord. He has granted us a great honor."

"What is it Father?"

"You are to give him an heir. He asked that I would find you a wife, so I am going to start that tomorrow."

Draco, who was taking all of this in, kept his composer, although he was shocked. He never showed his feelings, like his father. "Father, I am not ready to marry! I can't. What about my own heir's?"

"Draco, damn it! I don't care if you aren't ready to marry. It's what the Lord wants and that's all that matters. Worry about your own heir's after you give the Lord his! I am tired of your shit, Get out!"

"But Father!"

"That's enough Draco. You are getting a wife. You are to give the Dark Lord an heir and I will hear no more about it! Now get out!!"

"Yes, Father."

**

Draco was shocked. He couldn't believe that he had to do something like this. He had had to do a lot of horrible things since he became a Death Eater and even before then. But this, this was something he had never expected.

He walked into his bedroom and laid on his bed.

"It might not be so bad," he said to himself, "I can still have my affairs. And she can have hers."

He thought about it some more and figured he could marry Pansy Parkinson. "Sure, she is annoying and stupid but she won't want much as long a she is married to me..." "She worships me," he said with a chuckle.

**

"Father, wait! Can I have a word?" Draco asked the next morning. Lucius had been heading out the door.

"What now Draco?"

"Well Father, I thought about what you said. I now realize how great of an honor this is. And I will save you the trouble of finding me a wife."

Lucius laughed at this. "You are going to find your own wife? You really think I am stupid enough to let you pick your bride?"

"But father, I already have her picked."

"Humor me. Who is it?"

"It's Pansy Parkinson. She's a pureblood, that's what you want right?"

Lucius just sneered. After a few moments he said, "That whore isn't even worthy enough to marry a mudblood. True, I am only looking for pureblood women, but Pansy? Come now Draco, even I didn't know you could sink that low. I know that you have your games with her, but she is not for marrying, only for games. Now, I am going out to find you a pureblood wife who is not a whore and who is of marrying quality. Seeing as how that is very hard to find these days I may not return for a few days. No more of this discussion. Good bye Draco." He turned with a swish of his cloak and with a loud POP he was gone.

"At least I tried," Draco mumbled, shrugging his shoulders. "Time to tell Pansy I suppose."

**

Draco sat on the couch in front of the fire waiting for Pansy. He heard a knock at the door and half grunted, half said, "Come in."

"Oh Draco. Your letter said you wanted to talk." Pansy said, thinking he wanted to fool around. She walked towards him and sat on his lap. She kissed him passionately while starting to unbutton his shirt.

"Pansy..." He said, pushing her away, "Seriously, we need to talk."

"Draco, we can talk anytime," she said kissing him again.

"No, we need to talk now..." she kissed him again. She moved her hands down his chest and started to unbuckle his pants. Draco was getting angry and pushed her off of him onto the floor. He didn't have much patience, especially with Pansy.

She stared at him open mouthed in shock. He looked at her angrily and said, "We. Need. To Talk!"

"Ok Draco," she said while sitting herself next to him, "What about?"

"The Dark Lord and my father had a talk yesterday." A moment of silence passed before he continued, "The Lord wants an heir and he wants me to give him one."

Pansy's eyes were wide with shock.

"Well that means that I must get married..." An excited Pansy screaming cut off his little speech, "Draco that is so great. I will of course marry you!"

"Pansy, Shut Up! I didn't ask if you would marry me. My father is finding me a bride right now."

Pansy was trying to take all of this in. "Wha... Wha... What do you mean your father is finding you a bride? I am going to be your bride!"

Draco had realized why his father thought him low to even think of marrying this, this witch in front of him. He felt disgusted. "No, no you are not going to be my bride. You are a whore. You must have slept with every wizard alive by now. There is no way I would ever marry you."

She was close to tears. "I haven't been with that many wizards Draco!" she screamed. "What about you? You've been with lots of witches!"

"It's different when you're a wizard. Wizards are supposed to sleep around but witches are not. Understand?"

"No, I most certainly do not!" she said, trying to hold back the tears but not doing a very good job.

"Well, you never were the smartest witch around now were you? Okay, well, we are done talking you can go now." He smirked.

Pansy ran out of the room, but Draco could have distinctly heard her say, "Bloody bastard." He smirked even more, if possible.

Next Chapter: Ginny goes to work. Something happens at work. Lucius tries to think of who could be a good enough wife.

It will be something along those lines but something could always change. You notice that I was very vague, that's because I don't know exactly what is going to happen because I write as I go. Love ya!
