My Son One and Only

It's been years since Severus lost his wife Celine. Two weeks after that, his son Nicholas died also. Or so he thought...

Death Eaters attack at the Diagon Alley, which results with Neville Longbottom's grandmother's death. Neville himself is brought to the Hogwarts Infirmary, very sick. Severus declares him to have an incurable illness, but Dumbledore has some confessions to make.

Severus thinks about the fact that he's spent years tormenting his only son -- the same whom he's been mourning for almost sixteen years. However, now he's offered a chance for better -- even if his son still can't know him.

Severus is brewing the medicine that will save his son, at the same time vowing to never hurt the said son again. Later, when he slips to the Infirmary at night to administer the said potion to Neville, he realizes that the divine powers truly have a personal grudge against him.
