Chapter 12

Dragging herself out of bed that morning Angelina rechecked that she had everything packed. Stomping down the stairs, for some particular reason Angelina shoved down a hurried breakfast and got in the car. After half an hours drive Angelina reached the station, met up with the trio and boarded the train back to Hogwarts.

"So how were your holidays?" Hermione asked cheerfully, as usual. Angelina groaned.

"Absolutely terrible," she replied glumly.

"What's up with you?" Harry asked.

"Nothing just had a really bad holiday. You know the usual, couldn't find the information I wanted and feeling very, very guilty," Angelina answered.

"Find research on what and feel guilty about what?" Ron asked.

"Stuff. Never mind," Angelina answered again.

"Okay if you say so," the trio replied, rolling their eyes.

"Well it is what I say so ha!" Angelina answered back mockingly. Hermione rolled her eyes again.

Angelina sat down in her usual seat in the Great Hall, where Professor Dumbledore was about to begin his welcoming speech.

"I will begin my welcoming speech by extending a warm welcome back to everyone here today. I hope you all enjoyed your holidays, but may I remind you that you are back at school. So the same rules apply, the Forbidden Forest shall remain forbidden and Mr Filch has asked yet again that students should not duel in the corridors between classes. Ah and yes may I remind you that the Astronomy Tower shall remain for astronomy and not for ermm... other... um... activities. (Everyone laughed at this.) May I conclude my welcome with a toast to a fabulous and safe year and with these three words - totus, motus, crotus."

Everyone clapped and whistled as Dumbledore finished his speech. To everyone else Dumbledore appeared to beam except for Angelina. Angelina could see through the big fake smile that was plastered on Dumbledores' face. Angelina knew it wasn't going to be a fabulous and safe year and she knew that all the teachers were concerned about the attacks. She knew it all about it.

At Dumbledore's three words everyone's plates were filled up with food and all the students began talking and shoving food into their mouths. Angelina ate nothing, her mind full of jumbled thought she was trying to sort out.

"Why aren't you eating? Is there something wrong Angelina?" Harry asked.

"Er, nothing I'm just a little bit tired. If you don't mind I'll go to bed now. Goodnight," Angelina replied, snapping out of her thoughts.

"Okay cya," Harry replied.

Walking into her dorm Angelina immediately fell asleep, her last thought was Opwell, I'll get you for this...

The next morning Angelina woke up with a start, only to find that no one else was awake. Sighing Angelina got dressed and went down for breakfast. Sitting down in her usual seat, she looked around for any other sign of life. Only to find one other solitary figure... Draco Malfoy.

Angelina sighed at her bad luck and went back to staring at her breakfast. Buttering a toast absentmindedly, Angelina shoved it down and waited for her friends to show up.

Half an hour later, they entered the hall and went over to Angelina.

There he was again in the same dark corridor, with yet another pitiful and utterly useless girl and with the same routine. It was also another Ravenclaw. He was sick of these torturing sessions; they brought no joy to him. And no matter what he did or how battered his victim was it could do nothing to get the message into that thick head of that girl. He growled at the thought of that. She was stubborn and she was smart, very smart but was she willing to give up everyone's lives for her own. He didn't think so she was just too modest and that was her weakness. He cackled, one day he would get his revenge.

Glancing at his prey he laughed evilly. He couldn't help it. After all he was...evil. "Crucio," he whispered. Boy did he love that curse the immense look of pain. This torturing business was a piece of cake.

"Imperio. Now what I want you to do is. Hmm... Let me see how about throw yourself against the wall and don't stop until I say so," he sneered, scorn dripping on every word he said. The Ravenclaw girl began to throw herself at the wall, bruises began to form on her arms and legs.

"Stop," he commanded finally after 20 minutes. She dropped to the ground, blood oozing from the side of her head. Before he left he cast a quick memory charm and left a message for the annoying little brat.

That same night, Draco was curled up in the Slytherin Common room, reading a book. He was finally getting some peace and quiet, when a blond figure skipped over and sat on his lap.

"Draco," Pansy purred, trailing a finger up Draco's chest as the boy tried to push her off.

"What?" he snapped, getting up and watched with a satisfied smirk as Pansy dropped to the ground with an undignified thump.

"Why are you ignoring me Drakie? I wrote you so many letters in the holidays, but you never replied," she said with a pout as she picked herself up. Draco rolled his eyes.

"Pansy, get it through your head, we are not an item," he said through clenched teeth as the look on Pansy's face turned to anger.

"B-but y-you," she spluttered not able to get a word out. Draco sneered.

"I what?" he asked, not really caring what she said. After all, he still had revenge on his mind. Pansy was about to go down.

Pansy's face turned an alarming red colour as she stood up.

Both were not aware of the group that had formed around them, trying to see what they were talking about.

Pansy clenched and unclenched her hands as Draco continued to sneer.

"You complete scum! How could you?" she screeched as Draco took a step back.

As fast as he could, Draco whipped out his wand and pointed it at Pansy.

"I told you I was going to get you back Parkinson. Now you're going to wish you never messed with a Malfoy. Shavillium," Draco hissed and a second later a beam of blue light shot out of his wand and completely surrounded Pansy.

When the light cleared, Pansy was still Pansy, only she was Pansy minus one head of hair.

The common room immediately cracked up as Pansy felt her bold scalp and let out an ear-splitting scream.

To have to no hair was worse than death for a girl like Pansy, who spent half the night brushing her hair until it shone.

Draco smirked as he watched tears spring into Pansy's eyes.

"That's just the beginning," he told her smugly, before turning and going up to his room, ignoring the sobs of Pansy.

***

"How could that bastard do this to me?" Pansy screamed as she threw another pillow at the life-sized poster of Draco in her room.

"I love my hair and he knows it!" she sobbed as she threw herself at her bed, crying her heart out.

"I hate him!"

She had spent three hours trying to restore her hair, but nothing worked. Not even the potions or any of the reversal spells. Her hair was just going to have to grow back naturally.

"But that's going to take forever," Pansy wailed as tears rolled down her cheek.

As Dominic walked with his friends to class a sudden thought occurred to him. "Hey, you guys have any idea where Tiffany is? I seriously need help with my transfiguration homework."

"Naughty, naughty Dominic, always relying on Tiffany for your homework? Tsk tsk," Shelley mocked.

"No I mean it seriously, have you guys seen her?" Dominic asked.

"I have no idea, I haven't seen her all morning and she wasn't back last night. I waited up for her, but I think I fell asleep," Shelley replied.

"Oh my god, where the hell could she be?" Michael asked, panicking.

"I don't know," Dominic answered, suddenly he stopped in his tracks. A large crowd had formed a circle around a girl lying on the floor surrounded by blood.

"Oh my god! Who is that?" Shelley thought out loud.

Dominic and his friends went in for a closer look, they gasped and Shelley fainted when they saw who it was - it was Tiffany.

Angelina was there when she saw Shelley faint. She saw that shook up look Dominic and his friends had on and she read the message. It was all her fault, what was she going to do? Fucken hell. Angelina thought. I can't believe that this is happening to me. And poor Dominic I can't believe that because of my relationship with him all his friends could possibly die. Who ever fucking did this is going to pay, that is when I find out who it is. And that stupid message! What type of message is that! Given up yet! Pfft, yeah right. But as Angelina thought this, her heart sank lower and lower.

At lunch Angelina met up with Dominic in an empty Transfiguration room, preparing for the worst she walked in and hoped that things weren't as bad as they seemed. She was wrong; Dominic looked like he was a member of the living dead. His eyes sunk in his head and his skin was a pasty white. Even though the attack had only been the other day he looked as if it had affected him for much longer.

"Hey, how's it going," Angelina asked cautiously then mentally slapped herself. What type of dumb question was that? Oh hi Dominic how's it going? Of he's not fine! God how insensitive can I be? Angelina thought then really did slap herself when Dominic turned away.

"What do you think? Tiffany's still in the hospital wing and we're all afraid that we're going to be next. So far there's been two attacks on the Ravenclaws and any one of us could be next," Dominic whispered softly but scorn dripped with every word. Angelina flinched a little at Dominic's tone. She tried to stay calm and told herself that it wasn't all her fault but she couldn't. Seeing Dominic and his friends like this and knowing it was her fault was weighing too heavily on her shoulders.

Angelina crossed the room and hugged Dominic.

"I'm sorry Dominic," she whispered, burying her face in his chest. "I'm so, so sorry. It's all my fault. Everything's my fault."

Dominic looked at Angelina in puzzlement.

"Huh?" he asked, not understanding what Angelina was going on about.

"It's all my fault, I made the attacks happen. It's all my fault, if it wasn't for me, the attacks wouldn't even occur," she sobbed into Dominic's chest. Dominic stiffened.

Was Angelina behind the attacks? He thought as he drew away from her.

"You're attacking everyone?" he asked in disbelief.

"No, but the person who is, is trying to get to me," Angelina admitted, head in hands.

"I'm so sorry. I tried to stop it, but I failed. I couldn't get any information on the person and now the person's attacking people who are close to me."

Dominic was still shocked. What was Angelina talking about? The person who was attacking everybody, was only doing it because he/she was trying to get to Angelina? What does Angelina know or what did she do?

"Who is it?" he asked. Angelina shook her head.

"I can't tell you. I really can't, if I do the person will go after you," she said hesitantly.

Dominic strode forward and gripped Angelina's arm.

"Tell me Angelina, I'm not in the mood for this game," he told her coldly. Angelina wretched herself away from him and glared.

"You think this is a game to me!? You think I enjoy watching the people I care about being tortured?! Well I've got news for you Dominic! I don't! I hate it and I hate not being able to do anything about it!" she shouted at him, sadness turning into anger faster than Dominic could blink.

"This is affecting me as bad as it is affecting you Dominic! I'm sorry, but I can't tell you! Why can't you understand that?! This relationship is over Dominic! You'll just get hurt if you associate with me anymore than you already have!" Angelina said, breaking off with Dominic.

She knew it would come to this.

Break off with Dominic and save him, but be very sad.

Or stay with Dominic and be happy, but continuously looking over her shoulder for Opwell.

Break it off it is, she decided.

Without another word, Angelina turned around and stormed out of the classroom.

Angelina wiped the tears away from her eyes as she hurried along the corridors of Hogwarts.

She didn't know where her feet were taking her, and to be honest, she didn't care.

After five minutes of walking, she found herself at the library. Shrugging her shoulders and going in, Angelina sat down in one of the more secluded tables and didn't notice a certain blond boy looking at her over the top of his book.

Putting her head in her hands, Angelina tried not to succumb to the tears that pricked the back of her eyes. She felt someone sit down next to her. Looking up, she groaned when she realised it was Draco Malfoy.

"Hey, what's wrong Angelina?" he asked in a gentle voice as Angelina tried as hard as she can to ignore him.

"Piss off Malfoy. I am not in the mood to deal with you at the moment," she mumbled through her arms.

Okay, Plan A didn't work, on to Plan B. If at first you don't succeed, ignore the crap out of the person until you do, Draco thought as he laid a hand on Angelina's shoulder.

"What's wrong Angelina? Did you have a fight with your little boyfriend?" he asked with a mental sneer.

Angelina stiffened. Just what she needed. She didn't need to be reminded of Dominic at the moment. In fact that was the last thing she needed and here Malfoy was walking all over her feelings.

"Go away Malfoy," she said through clenched teeth, barely holding her tears back. Draco pouted.

"But Angelina, you're sad and when you're sad, I'm sad. Please tell me?" he asked. Angelina raised her head and glared at him.

"Oh please, as if you even have feelings," she said with a roll of her eyes. Draco continued to pout.

It hurt though, for someone to say that he didn't have feelings. Of course he had feelings, but no one could know that. As long as his father was Voldemort's right hand man, then Draco would have to strut around the school like he owned it and show no feelings other that cruelness.

"Of course I have feelings Angelina. I have feelings for you," he said sincerely. Angelina snorted.

"You're a good actor," she said flatly, returning her head into her arms. She really didn't need this. She could barely control her tears and she knew that if Draco continued to dig about Dominic, then she wouldn't be able to hold it in anymore.

"I bet it's Vanhousan isn't it? As soon as I mentioned him, you nearly bit my head off," Draco said with an air of certainty. Angelina mumbled something incoherent. She could already feel one tear sliding down her cheek and dropping on to the desk.

"Go. Away," she told him, wrenching her arm from Draco's touch.

"But I'm only here to help," he told her. Angelina snorted again.

"Yeah, right," she said sarcastically. Draco sighed.

"Look I am only trying to help. If you want to talk about it, I'm here. If you don't, then okay, but I'm here for you. I'll even beat up Vanhousan if it makes you feel better," Draco offered.

At the sound of Dominic's name, Angelina started to cry. Silent tears cascaded down her cheeks as Draco stared. Reaching out hesitantly he enveloped the trembling girl in a hug.

"It's okay. I'm sure whatever Vanhousan did, he didn't mean it," he whispered softly as Angelina continued to cry. Burying her face in his robes, Angelina clutched him tightly as she let all her emotions run free.

Pansy was peeved to say the least. Not only had the whole school found out of her baldness, but they all seemed to tease her mercilessly about it. Vowing to herself that she would get Draco Malfoy back, Pansy tugged on a French beret and went down to the library to check for cures. None of the spells she knew worked, nor the potions so now she was hoping that she could the book in which Draco got the curse from in the first place and then find a reversal spell for it.

Trudging through the halls and glaring at anyone who even dared to look in her direction, Pansy groaned when she realised she had a long way to go before she reached the library. It really didn't help the journey when everyone stopped in the halls to laugh and point at her.

Pansy snarled at the first year Hufflepuff who was stupid enough to let her hear them talking about her head. The Hufflepuff gave a little squeak and ran off with her friends.

Pansy scowled as she went into the library. It was relatively empty as she searched the shelves for any book that mentioned hair-loss curses. Spotting no book that deemed important enough, Pansy was about to sneak into the restricted section when she heard Draco's voice.

"It's okay. I'm sure whatever Vanhousan did, he didn't mean it," he whispered. Pansy glanced around the book shelf in time to see him pull Angelina close. She also saw that she was crying and Draco was comforting her. She nearly hexed her then and there when Angelina kissed Draco. Of course, Angelina did not kiss Draco, but because of the angle Pansy was at, it looked like they were.

Pansy saw red. She withdrew her wand and pointed it at Angelina. The curse was on her lips, but before she finished muttering it, Pansy stopped.

An evil smile graced her lips as her mind worked up a plan that would ruin Angelina's life forever and bring Draco running back to her.
