Chapter 11

"Oh. My. God!" Angelina gasped, her hand flying to her mouth as she stared at Draco in a mixture of shock and understanding. Her half of the project clattered to the floor but either person seemed noticed it, while Angelina continued to stare at Draco.

"Oh, my, god," Angelina repeated. Draco felt doom and fear creeping up on him as he looked back at Angelina the confusion and anger at himself clearly written on his face.

"What?" he asked, hoping that Angelina had not found out about his secret.

"You, how could you be - be?" Angelina asked curiosity replacing the shock.

"Be what?" Draco asked. Before Angelina could answer he cut in again.

"Devilishly handsome? Outrageously smart?" Angelina didn't reply, but looked like she was thinking.

"How," she began calmly, her emotions entirely under control. "How can you be Alexandra?" Draco's jaw dropped. What ever he had been expecting, it had not been that. Well at least not put so bluntly.

"What?!" he asked, recovering quickly, his mask back in place.

"How can you be Alexandra?" Angelina repeated. Draco looked at her as if she was crazy.

"What are you talking about?" he asked, trying to play dumb, acting like he had no idea about what she was talking about.

"Oh don't be stupid, you know exactly what I'm talking about," Angelina snapped, feeling betrayed and angry that her newfound friend was in fact Draco fucking Malfoy.

For fucks sake, I had told her, well him in actual fact things that I normally wouldn't tell anyone else, Angelina thought. She glared at the blond boy with renewed hate. If she could tell him things why couldn't he tell her the truth?

"No I don't, why don't you enlighten me?" Draco asked politely.

Angelina gritted her teeth and restrained herself from letting loose a line of obscene curses that would of made her grandparents, who were dead, wither in their graves.

"Listen up Malfoy, you son-of-a-bitch! I have had it with you! Alright I admit it was nice of you to take the curse for me, but that doesn't mean I'll let you do this to me. I trusted you or rather Alex. I told you things that I would never have told anyone and I mean anyone. The least you could have done was tell me that you were actually Draco-fuckwit-Malfoy. Do you know how betrayed I feel? Well do you?!" Angelina asked heatedly jabbing her finger repeatedly into Draco's chest, forcing back until he was pinned up against the wall.

"I was going to tell you," he told her bluntly as if it didn't matter whether he had told her or not.

"Yeah right, probably in like a million years. Here's my fucking half of the fucking project!" Angelina added before throwing the pieces of parchment at Draco.

Giving him one more glare, she turned and left.

Draco strolled back to the Slytherin common room preparing to confront Pansy and plan his revenge. Walking in everyone turned to him. Draco ignored all the 'Heys' and 'where were yous' and turned on Pansy.

"Who the fuck do you think you are?" Draco said threateningly. A few Slytherins in the room turned around, eyebrows raised.

"I don't know what you're talking about Draco dear," Pansy, replied wide-eyed.

"Don't Draco dear me Pansy Parkinson. You know exactly what I'm talking about." Draco sneered.

"No I don't. What have I ever done to you?" Pansy asked, beginning to feel scared, panic rising in her voice.

"You fucking hexed me. That's what you idiotic moron. And I'm sure you know exactly what it fucking did. Didn't you?!"

"Um yes?" she tried. Draco glared, but Pansy continued. "Well it's not my fault that you had to jump in front of Nadford," she reasoned.

"You shouldn't have used that hex in the first place!" Draco said, getting even angrier. After being attacked like that by Angelina, Draco was in no mood to play cat and mouse with Pansy.

"I'll get you for this Pansy." Draco vowed menacingly and with one last glance he walked away, leaving Pansy with a shocked, scared yet angry expression. All the other Slytherins looked shocked also and continued to stare at the spot where Draco had been.

It was Arithmancy that morning yet again. Sure she was good at it, but seriously today was not Angelina's day. First of all she had fallen out of bed, and that really hurt. Next Angelina had barely escaped Hermione's questioning about her 'date' with Dominic even though Hermione had known Shelley and Michael were following them. (She would get revenge later.) To make matters worse there was Arithmancy with...Draco Malfoy, formally known as Alexandra.

Angelina grumbled at that thought. She still couldn't believe it. Why did everything have to happen to her? Why the fuck did her life have to suck so much? She grumbled again as she entered the room and plonked down next to Malfoy.

Professor Vector seeing that everyone had arrived. Immediately began a lecture. Angelina tuned out not interested in a single fucking thing Vector had to say. Besides she probably knew it already, if she missed something she'd get it off Hermione. Angelina chose that moment to think of how Alexandra could have been Malfoy and why she had not figured it out before.

Alex was nice and a really good friend whereas Malfoy was a sorry-assed, pompous jackass. How could Alex have possibly been Malfoy? Angelina looked over at Malfoy, who was diligently taking notes from his textbook. Angelina remembered all those times she had thought about how Alex was so alike Malfoy. Yet how could it be possible? Draco looked up from his notes and mistook Angelina's pondering for staring at him.

"What's wrong Nadford? Staring at my charmingly handsome looks, outrageously smart wits-"

"No you asshole," Angelina replied simply getting a teensy-weensy bit ticked.

"Then it probably was-" he was cut off.

"Why don't you just fuck the hell off?" Angelina suggested.

"Why the fuck should I?" Draco replied smirking. Now she was getting angry, then began to smirk also.

"Well Malfoy, since you are so nice to me, I think I'll return the favour. After all, everybody has the right to know that you were a g-" Angelina continued sarcastically before being cut off. Draco hurriedly clamped a hand over her mouth to prevent her from speaking anymore. If the school knew that he was a girl, he'd never live it down.

"Shut up!" he hissed dangerously. Angelina struggled out of his grasp and glared at him with a mischievous glint in her eye. Draco realised that she wasn't joking around and trying to get a rise out of him. If forced to, she would tell them school what happened to him.

"You wouldn't," he whispered.

"I would," Angelina said smugly.

"Fine, I'll shut up," Draco said in a huff. That when they realised that the whole class was now looking at them, including the teacher.

"Well now that that's over, can we please get on with the lesson?" Professor Vector asked sternly, glaring at Angelina and Draco.

Both nodded and tried to concentrate on the lesson. It really didn't help that the whole class was whispering and trying to figure out what Angelina knew about Draco that made him so uncomfortable.

Damn that Nadford! Draco thought angrily. I can't believe that that little bitch has actually managed to blackmail me! How clumsy can I get, letting that thing slip!?

Draco spent the rest of the lesson trying not to bang his head on the table.

After class Angelina looked smugger than ever. A Ravenclaw from Arithmancy suddenly came over. "So Angelina, remember me? I'm in your Arithmancy class! Well hi!" The girl said quickly and very, very enthusiastically.

"Anyway I just wanted to know. What is going on with you and that really cute Malfoy guy? Tell me, Tell me, Tell me!" The girl squealed.

Angelina looked at he girl as if she had grown another head and simply replied. "Yea sure, I'll tell you EVERYTHING!"

"Really?"

"No."

The girl looked crestfallen. She had really, really wanted to know. Sulking under her breath, the girl sauntered off to where her friends eagerly waited, also wanting to know what happened.

Angelina chuckled softly at the girl's expense and prepared herself yet again as a Hufflepuff came up to her, no doubt to ask the same thing. Before the hufflepuff had even started Angelina stated a firm and simple 'no'.

"Look I'm sorry but you can tell your friends that, no I'm not going to tell anyone. Got it?"

***

During lunch Angelina looked even smugger than she was before, about a million students had come up to her and asked the very same question, over and over again. And each time Angelina had given them the same answer-'no'.

Hermione quickly sat down next to Angelina and confronted her.

"Um, Angelina what is going on with you and Malfoy? What do you know?" Ron and Harry looked over eager to find out as well.

"Sorry guys, but no can say. My lips are sealed," Angelina replied, feeling a teensy-weensy bit guilty that she had to keep this from her friends, but then again they had spied on her. Oh well she would get her revenge on them another time.

Hermione knew a dismissal when she heard one and didn't say anything else about the matter that day. Though that didn't mean she wasn't going to try again.

After the attacks, parents had urged their children to come home. Everyone was going home, even Harry (who had got a ride with the Weasley's). Angelina had also gotten out of staying. I mean her mum was a pretty reasonable person and how was one supposed to make friends with no students at school? Exactly.

Angelina cheered silently in her head, as she boarded the train along with everyone else, a grin plastered on her face.

"You certainly look extremely happy today, for some reason," Ron observed.

"Hell yeah, I won't be cooped up at school all by myself. For god's sake even Harry's going somewhere, so why can't I?" Angelina replied, somewhat annoyed.

"Okay what ever, no need to get all touchy," Ron sighed.

"Ditto," Angelina said, as she rolled her eyes.

Back at Hogwarts, school of witchcraft and wizardry a lone figure crept through the dungeons cloaked in a heavy, hooded cloak. Seeing movement to his left, he grinned and walked over.

"Do you have the boy yet?" The man asked harshly.

"Not yet my lord, be patient, when the time comes I will have him." The cloaked figure replied.

"Fine, but hurry. My patience is wearing very thin," the man's eye's glittered maliciously as he said this.

"Of course my lord, but what of the girl?" The cloaked figure asked, sneering under his hood.

"I will get the girl in good time," the man replied without any guilt.

"Then it's settled, we shall meet again soon."

"Yes my lord."

And with that both men left stealthily.

Angelina stepped off the train and said her hellos and goodbyes to the Weasleys', Grangers' and Harry. She spotted her parents and walked over. Her mother beamed at the sight of her daughters' radiant smile. She couldn't remember Angelina ever being so happy or make so many friends before.

"Hey mum, hey dad," Angelina called out.

"Hi darling, it's good to see that you've made friends and looking very happy." Her father replied.

"Right dad, I think I'll take that as a compliment," she answered back sarcastically, as her dad ruffled her hair playfully.

"So how was your stay at Hogwarts?" her mother asked.

"I'll tell you all about it on the way home," Angelina replied as she attempted to smooth her hair back down.

(Back at Angelina's place)

"Jonathon I'm really worried about Angelina. I mean these attacks, why didn't she mention them? Why all this secrecy? I could tell she wasn't telling us everything." Felicity, Angelina's mum, asked worriedly.

"I don't know dear, there is a possibly that he's back," Jonathon, Angelina's dad, replied.

"No he can't be. My poor baby. You don't really think that they want her do you?"

"I'm not sure. I'm sorry but my mind is preoccupied at the moment. I'm not really worried about that, what I'm worried about is Angelina having a boyfriend!"

"Jonathon," Felicity said, rolling her eyes and slapped him on the arm playfully.

After unpacking Angelina knocked on Jennifer's door and walked in. Her sister was sitting on her bed talking intently on the phone. Angelina plonked herself down and waited patiently for her sister to finish her conversation.

~Twenty minutes later of waiting~

"Hey Angelina, sorry about the wait. How was Hogwarts?" Jennifer asked somewhat nicely.

"Well let's just say a lot of stuff happened. But I really need to talk to you about something." Angelina said urgently.

"Shoot," Jennifer answered curiously.

Angelina began her story about the attacks, the message, the dreams and Opwell. By the time she had finished it was quite late and she was quite out of breath. Throughout the story Jennifer listened quietly.

"So why do I need to know this?" she asked.

"Well I was wondering do you know, like understand, what the hell is going on and do you know if mum or dad know an Opwell dude?" Angelina asked.

"I'm not sure maybe we should research a little about the Opwells' cause that name, it does ring a bell. But I'm still not so sure. Maybe we could ask da-"

"NO!" Angelina cut her off. "I mean we can't tell dad, well... At least not yet. OK?" Jennifer nodded.

"Anyway sis, I heard that you actually got a boyfriend," Jennifer enquired slyly. "Well come on spill. I want to know all the goss and details."

Angelina groaned and blushed slightly, but she began to tell her sister the story, reluctantly.

The holidays passed slowly at Nadford manor. Each day became a week and each week became a month. It was a dreary holiday for Angelina. The first two weeks were full of receiving and giving gifts, but after that there was practically nothing to do.

Angelina and Jennifer spent most of their day at the family library researching. They found very little and useless information about the name Opwell.

Jennifer sighed as she went through the last book in the pile and found nothing. Angelina swore loudly under her breath and slammed the book she was looking through down on the table, causing the table to shake.

"Fucken hell, there isn't any fucking information in these fucking books!" Angelina exclaimed.

"Ange, just chill ok. Maybe there aren't or weren't any Opwell's around. You know perhaps this guys an undercover agent their to protect the school from the attacks," Jennifer suggested lamely.

"What?! As if Jen! Pfft! This guy has the potential of an idiotic moron if you ask me. No way, Dumbledore would never have hired such a dim-witted asshole like Opwell," Angelina said disbelievingly.

"Hey, it was just an idea. Besides what I meant was that he changed his name or something. No biggie. Geez, you seriously get worked up easily. Why don't we just ask mum or dad? It's the easiest solution," Jennifer practically begged.

"No Jen I can't! I can't tell dad not yet this is too important. I don't them worrying about me, yet again. I mean I know things always happen to me, but this time I'm going to handle it myself. OK?" Angelina practically shouted. She was breathing heavily and her face was flushed, Jennifer gave Angelina a sisterly hug and replied OK.

The two girls decided to take a break from their continuous research. Walking into the kitchen, they found their mother preparing lunch.

"And what have you two girls been doing? You looked a little puffed out," their mother commented.

"Nothing just doing a little bit of background research. For fun," Angelina added as an afterthought.

"Really, what about?" Felicity asked, curiously, knowing that her daughters were not telling her something.

"Um..." Angelina began. The two girls looked at each other desperately thinking.

"Um. Manticores," Jennifer said innocently, Angelina nodded to show her agreement. Their mother gave them a suspicious look but decided to leave it as it was.

They're keeping something from me. Perhaps Angelina has told Jennifer about something that happened at school. Well at least Angelina's told someone; I hope they sort it out quickly, Felicity thought, with a hint of worry.

Back at Hogwarts in Dumbledore's office McGonagall was talking quickly and urgently to Professor Dumbledore.

"You don't understand Albus, there is danger about, maybe we should close the school as the minister suggested," McGonagall. Dumbledore shook his head, as Minerva continued. "I feel that there is a connection between these attacks and a student. I just don't know who."

"Yes I agree Minerva, but there is nothing we can do about it. We must let fate take its course," Dumbledore replied calmly.

"We can't just sit here and do nothing," Minerva argued.

"There is nothing we can do. Let it be," Dumbledore said firmly and sternly. Professor McGonagall could do nothing, she had to let fate take its course and sit there and watch the horrors that were about to occur.
