Chapter 8

"Just that as I was walking past Vanhousan and Nadford, I just happened to hear Vanhousan say that he likes - " Draco's last word was muffled by the hasty hand that was clamped over his mouth. Following the hand Angelina saw that it was connected to Dominic's torso and Dominic had a very worried and very, very angry look on his face. Angelina had a feeling that Draco would've smirked if Dominic's hand wasn't still over his mouth.

"Dominic likes what?" Michael asked interestedly, forgetting, momentarily that Draco was a prat.

"A- hey get your hands off me," Draco said indignantly as Dominic half dragged and half carried him out of the Three Broomsticks.

"So Angelina, you wouldn't by chance of course, know what Dominic like would you?" Michael asked as everybody's attention was suddenly turned towards the black haired girl.

"Er, well he did say something about," she began, scrambling her brain for a reasonable sounding thing that Dominic would like.

"Yes?" Harry inquired, leaning in.

"Beans, Dominic likes jelly beans," Angelina stated firmly as she remembered what Dominic had said about beans. Everybody snorted in laughter and looked at Angelina disbelievingly.

"Beans? Are you sure he didn't say Angelina?" Michael asked, one eyebrow raised. Before Angelina could protest the door to the bar opened again and a very flustered looking Dominic entered, his cheeks red from pushing and threatening Draco. He slid into his seat and took a sip of his drink.

"So, what do you like?" Hermione asked. Dominic's drink stopped halfway to his mouth as he heard the question. He blinked a couple of times and rested his cup on the coaster.

"Um, I like.... beans," he finished, remembering what he had told Angelina. Angelina softly breathed a sigh of relief and sagged in her chair.

The door to the bar opened again and Draco's head popped in, just out of Dominic's or anyone's reaches.

"Just how easily do you think you can get rid of me?" he asked sulkily. Dominic groaned as Angelina glared at Draco. "Anyways, Vanhousan likes Nadford," he said in a sing-song voice as Dominic lunged at him. Draco quickly ducked out of the door again and Dominic went crashing into it. (A/N have you ever crashed into a door when you tried to lunge at someone? It really hurts)

Rubbing his head, Dominic sat back down and refused to look at Angelina. Angelina refused to look at him, but Michael didn't.

"So, Dominic old buddy, old pal. Why didn't you tell us? Of course, me being me already knew. I could tell from those puppy dog eyes you made at Angelina whenever she wasn't looking that you really liked her. You could've told us you know, I'm sure even Ron would've helped you, er, convince Angelina that you're the man of her dreams. Her white knight in shining armour. Her - " Michael was silenced as Angelina punched him on the arm, painfully. The table burst into laughter, well, everybody except Angelina and Dominic who were glowering at him. Michael didn't even bat a guilty eyelash. He just looked at Dominic and Angelina through innocent eyes.

When Angelina left the bar half an hour later, she bumped into Draco. She narrowed her eyes and glared at him.

"I swear Malfoy, now you just gave me a whole new reason to get you back. I think I'll just add that to the forever growing list I have labelled: reasons to hex Draco Malfoy into next the century," Angelina hissed dangerously as she reached for her wand again. Draco however, wasn't worried.

"I have a whole list. I'm flattered," he exclaimed, batting his eyelashes at her. Angelina did not have anymore temper nor patience for Draco Malfoy: stuck-up wanna be, totally up himself, loser (This bit is from Angelina's PoV).

"Gaf-" Angelina began, the curse for uncountable itchiness forming on her lips. Draco meanwhile, looked unflustered, totally sure that Angelina was not going to go through with it. That just shows how much he knows.

"Angelina!" Hermione's voice cut through. "You can't hex Malfoy, remember, you still have detention with Snape and you don't need more!"

Angelina was still eying Draco, still ready to hex him if he made one move. Slowly, agonizingly slowly, she lowered her wand.

"You'll pay for that Malfoy," she spat, before grabbing Hermione's arm and practically dragging her back to Hogwarts.

"So we are back again at yet another Quidditch match. The first match for the season, with Ravenclaw against Gryffindor. Who will win? Well you'll just have to watch to find out. Anyway we are all patiently waiting on the teams to get ready... And here they come Alicia Spinnet captain of Gryffindor and Cho Chang captain of Ravenclaw are shaking hands, yada yada, yada the usual thing. Sorry Professor Mcgonagall. Yes I understand they are traditions. I was just kidding, I didn't mean it." Lee Jordan laughed nervously as Mcgonagall glared at him.

It was the first Quidditch Match and Harry was nervous, yet confident. Alicia, their new captain had given them a really big pep talk and had insisted on tonnes of training during the week, to get then tip top in shape. This had left Harry weary and most of his homework undone. Oh well life was life. If you didn't finish work that was just tough, but then again that was what Hermione was put on the world for. Harry chuckled at that thought.

The sound of the whistle being blown bought Harry back to the present he took off immediately and began to search for the snitch. He did a few loop-a-loops to shake of his nervousness. Not seeing anything Harry began to listen to Lee's commentary.

"- And Gryffindor takes the ball, Spinnet to Johnson to Spinnet again and they score. And that's 10-0 Gryffindor's way. Woo-hoo, who rules oh yeah! Sorry professor I promise I won't take sides again. Yes I understand and no it won't happen again. Anyway Ravenclaw chaser, Simons, take possession of the ball. And he's blocked by Gryffindor's new Keeper, Butler. Gryffindor takes the ball again and they... don't score and are blocked by Dominic Vanhousan the Ravenclaw keeper. Olsen takes the ball but is knocked out by a bludger, sent by Fred or George. Not sure which. Ooh that must have hurt. And Gryffindor takes the quaffle- And what's this ladies and gentlemen, looks like Cho Chang and Harry take it head to head straight for the snitch. Oh my god, take a look at the speed they are going at. I really hope that they won't crash," Lee roared as everyone hung on anxiously to see who won.

Harry zoned in on the snitch. Reaching out, he knew that he had it. Cho was way behind him and all the noise got shut out. He could only hear the wind and the see the tiny ball of gold as he sped towards. Just as his hand was about to close around, something big, grey and heavy flew right in front of him. Pulling his broom up almost vertically, Harry barely missed colliding with the bludger. When he finally slowed down, the snitch was nowhere in sight. Looking up, he saw that Jack Ragniff, the Ravenclaw beater, had sent it his way. The other beater, Tiffany Graham was racing after the other bludger. Aiming his broom up, Harry continued to look for the tiny gold ball, more determined then ever to find it.

"And Potter barely misses killing himself, bashing into that bludger. What was Ragniff thinking, he could've seriously hurt Potter," Lee's sulky voice filled the stadium.

"Mr. Jordon, I suggest you keep your opinions to yourself, or I will be forced to remove you," McGonagall's voice sounded a second later. Everybody chuckled as Lee rushed to profusely convince that nothing like that will every happen again, for the thousandth time that match.

"I am back again! Anyways, Ravenclaw's new Chaser, Faith Bennet, takes possession of the quaffle and she rips up the field, literally. Butler tries to block, but nope. Ravenclaw scores."

Loud cheers erupted from both Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. Even the Slytherins cheered, as far as they were concerned, any house winning was better than Gryffindor.

"Spinnet takes the quaffle, passes to Johnson who passes back to Spinnet. Spinnet speeds up the field, shoots and sc- no Vanhousan blocks at the last moment. Simons takes procession of the quaffle, passes to Beenet, who passes it to Olsen. Olsen flies up the field and gets hit in the arm by a bludger, how tragic," Lee exclaimed happily. Many of the Ravenclaws growled and scowled, but Lee paid absolutely, positively not attention.

"Bell takes the quaffle and races the other way, Graham tries to stop her with a bludger, but ha, Bell is way too smart for that. Take that you pat-" Lee stopped in mid-sentence as he saw McGonagall stalking towards him.

"Er, perfectly cute and smart and Professor McGonagall remember, being angry isn't good for your blood pressure. The doctor's orders," Lee's voice filed through, the volume of his voice ranging from loud to soft as he raced around the commentary box with McGonagall right on his heels.

"Mr. Jordon, you get back here now and apologise to the Ravenclaw students."

"Aww, but Prof., I didn't really mean it," Lee puffed as he took his place back at the microphone. By now the whole stadium had erupted into laughter and even the teams in the air seemed not to be paying as much attention as before.

Harry attention was suddenly snagged away from McGonagall and Lee. There, near the middle ring of the Ravenclaw hoops was the snitch. Pointing his broom staright at it, Harry flew fast and straight. His eyes were focused on the tiny gold speck in front of him, and he sped forward, knowing that Chang had no chance his broom was way too fast for her's.

"And Potter and Chang have spotted the snitch. Potter is out in front by a mile. Chang is desperately trying to catch up, but she has no chance," Lee roared into the microphone (do they actually use microphones? If not, they please review and tell me, er, us what they actually use)

Harry looked back and saw that Cho was indeed way behind him. Oh well that was her problem not his. In other words all he could say was SUCKED IN!! (Yes, I know what you're all thinking, and no, Harry is not crushed over Cho Chang anymore) And he sped forward pulling his broom up before it crashed into the ground holding the snitch triumphantly in his hand.

"The crowd goes WILD!!" Lee continued his commentary. "And the match goes to Gryffindor with, 210- 100."

***

After the match Angelina ran down with Hermione and Ron to congratulate Harry. She spotted Harry and was about to run up to him when she a certain brown/blacked haired boy entered her field of vision and was talking to Harry. Stopping in her tracks, she turned and was about to leave when Harry called out to her.

"Yo, Angelina, thinking about leaving us so soon? We're not really that bad."

Angelina swore under her breath at Harry and turned around.

She trudged up to them and smiled at Harry frostily.

"Congratulations Harry and, er, sorry about the loss Dominic," she added, thinking that it was rude if she rubbed the loss into Dominic's face. Dominic smiled at her to show that it was cool.

"Um, Ron, Hermione, don't we have to go and do that, er, thing for Professor Flitwick?" Harry asked pointedly.

"What th- ow!" Ron exclaimed as Hermione accidentally stepped on his foot.

"Of course I remember Harry. Come on Ron, we have to finish the thing by tomorrow," Hermione said, even more pointedly, looking Ron. Ron glared at her, until a look of understanding came over his face.

"Oh, that thing," he said sheepishly. Hermione rolled her eyes and muttered something that sounded suspiciously like 'took you long enough'. Before Angelina or Dominic could argue the trio was halfway to the castle.

"Er, well," Angelina stammered and mentally kicked herself for sounding so stupid.

"Yes, well," Dominic replied, equally nervous. "Let's go take a walk; I need to talk to you."

Angelina was surprised, but nodded and followed him until they reached the lake. Dominic walked over to a tree and sat under the shade. He patted the ground next to him and mentioned for Angelina to sit there. Angelina sat still not sure what to make of it.

"Er, so what did you want to talk about?" she asked, after a moment of silence.

"Well, you see, after last week at Hogsmeade and Malfoy, with his, er, outburst, and er, you know," Dominic said, fidgeting with the blades of grass. Angelina nodded, but Dominic didn't see her as the grass had somehow become so interesting and he had a sudden urge to study it.

"Yeah," Angelina said quietly, encouraging Dominic to speak.

"I want to go out with you," he blurted, then immediately blushed. He hadn't meant for it to come out so blunt or forward. Now Angelina probably thinks that I'm some creep, Dominic thought gloomily.

"Er, sure, I mean, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?" she asked. Dominic looked up and smiled at her. He was also pleased to see a start of a blush at her cheeks.

"That's great," he exclaimed, previous nervousness forgotten. Angelina also seemed to relax. Dominic stood up and pulled Angelina up with him.

"I have to get back to the Ravenclaw common room, otherwise they probably think I got killed or something," he said, looking and sounding disappointed. Angelina smiled reassuringly at him.

"Don't worry, you run along, I think it's time I got back to the Gryffindor common room anyway," she said.

Dominic and Angelina made their way slowly up to the castle and inside. The reached the corridor that separated the common rooms, both looking sad.

"I guess, I'll see you," Dominic said softly. Angelina smiled and agreed. Dominic leaned down and brushed his lips against her cheek softly before giving her one more smile and leaving for his common room.

Angelina smiled and headed down the direction that led to her own common room, all the while with a dreamy smile on her face.

As soon as Angelina entered the common room, she was immediately grabbed by the arm and half pulled, half dragged over to the fire. Freeing herself, Angelina glared at Hermione.

"Hermione, what was that for?" she demanded. Hermione grinned.

"So how was your talk with Dominic?" she asked slyly. Angelina sighed. She knew that this would happen, that Hermione would demand the details about her talk with Dominic.

"Nothing really, except that Dominic just asked me out," Angelina answered casually as she flopped down on to the armchair nearest to her. Hermione, Ron and Harry goggled at her.

"Cool," Harry said first.

"Yeah," Ron agreed. Hermione beamed at her.

"Congrads," she said smugly, as if knowing that this would happen. Angelina rolled her eyes at her.

"You know Hermione, you seem to know about other people's love lives, you seem pretty blind to our own. Someone in this room has a mega crush on you for so long now and you don't even realise it," Angelina said, seeing how Hermione would react.

"What?" she asked dumbfounded.

"I happen to know someone who has a major crush on you," she repeated as Hermione faintly represented a fish out of water, her mouth closing and opening, not knowing what to say. Thankfully, for who Angelina didn't know, Hermione did not see to realise that Ron had gone all red in the firelight.

"I don't believe you," she finally said. Angelina shrugged.

"Harry knows," she said. Hermione immediately rounded up on Harry who just held his hands up in surrender.

"Yep, Angelina's correct, you do have a secret admirer," he told her truthfully, glancing over at Ron who, if possible, was more red than ever. Hermione shook her head.

"Why do I feel like that this is a big joke?" she asked wearily. "Ron, Ron, do you have any idea - why are you red?" Hermione asked. Ron tried to answer, but failed miserably. Hermione's hand flew to her mouth.

"Oh my god! Ron" Hermione wailed softly, a looking of understanding crossing her face. Ron refused to look at anyone.

"I can't help it," he mumbled.

"How can you not help it?" Hermione asked. Angelina raised an eyebrow and looked and Harry who was fighting back laughter. It looked like Hermione wasn't as thick as they thought she was when concerning her love life.

"Ron, why didn't you ever tell that you knew who my 'supposedly' secret admirer was?" Hermione wailed softly. Ron, Angelina and Harry jumped.

"Huh?" he asked stupidly. Hermione looked irritated.

"Well obviously, the only reason you're so red is because you know who my admirer and you won't even tell me," Hermione pouted. Angelina couldn't help it. She burst out laughing. Hermione looked at her as Harry started to laugh as well. Angelina leaned on Hermione as she tried to calm her laughter, but to no avail. Hermione decided to concentrate her attention on Ron.

"Er, sorry?" he offered. "I was going to tell you."

The look Hermione gave Ron showed clearly she did not believe a word he had just said.

"Her- Herm- Hermione, you a-are s-so thick," Angelina choked out as she burst into another fit of laughter.

***

That night Angelina trudged down to Filch's office. She had to finish her six days of detention that Snape had set up for her.

"Stupid, stupid Snape. Making me do this, this! I am still sick for god's sake. Barely a week ago I was still in the hospital wing, my head a massive bloody lump!" Angelina muttered darkly under her breath as she knocked on Filch's office, knowing she was being unreasonable, but unable to help it.

Well, at least one good thing comes out of it, Angelina thought glumly as the door opened. Malfoy isn't going to be here to annoy me.

This was going to be a long night.

***

The next morning, Angelina entered the room Professor Vector had set up for her and Draco. Going inside she was relieved that a certain blond person wasn't there. Taking out the envelope in her robes, she left it on the table. Grabbing some scrolls and books on the way out, Angelina was glad that she wasn't going to be working with Draco if she could help it.

***

Ten minuted after she had left, Draco entered the room. He glanced around the room and surprised to see that some scrolls and books were missing. That's when he spotted the letter on the table. Walking over he was surprised (again) to see it was addressed to him. Looking closer he realised it was from Angelina. Draco opened the letter and scanned the contents.

Malfoy- the most stuck up person I have ever met!

This is to tell you that I will not be working with you anymore, at least not face to face. I have taken some stuff that I will need and be working by myself. In two week's time I will give you my half and you had better had finished your half by then too! If other stuff appears and disappears, it's just me.

I still haven't forgotten the Hogsmeade incident, you have been warned...

Angelina - the person who will kick your ass.

Draco snorted, whatever, he thought. I don't need her.

***

That night a silent figure was seen leaving the castle. The figure ran stealthily towards the forbidden forest. The figure stopped suddenly as another figure appeared in front of him.

"Father," Draco said dully as the other man revealed himself.

"Draco, are you doing your mission correctly? Have you gotten Nadford to trust you yet?" he asked. Draco hesitated; he was so busy hating Angelina that he forgot to do what his father had told him to.

"Have you?" Draco's father asked threateningly.

"Almost," Draco lied. His father raised an eyebrow.

"I think not Draco. Your lying abilities have decreased here at Hogwarts. Now tell me the truth."

"Nadford has a boyfriend."

"Who?"

"Dominic Vanhousan."

"Why are you not her boyfriend?"

"She hates my guts! I am a Slytherin! She is a Gryffindor! I hate her too!"

"I don not care Draco. Do not fail me or you will pay the ultimate price." (A/N That sounds very gay, I know, but I can't think of anything)

"How can I succeed when she already has a boyfriend?"

"I do not care about trivial things like that Draco. Do what you have to; just get her to trust you."

Without another word, Luscius turned and left, his robes billowing out behind him. Draco scowled darkly before turning himself and making his way back to the Slytherin common room.

***

She was sitting on the window sill again, looking out at the stars. So who was the message for? Not her, it couldn't possibly be her, could it? She sighed, she couldn't do anything. It was all out of her control and it was all her fault.

I'm not like that, I know I'm not. It was just anger that made me do it, just anger. I hope that he will find it in his heart to forgive me...... one day. I do love him. I have loved him, I love him now and I will love him for all eternity. I just hope, before it's too late, he'll realise it.
