The Day Harry Kissed Draco

The waves crashed against the shore of the lake as a lonely young man stood and watched the sun set. The sky was a hot red colour, leading into black. He loved sunsets. They promised things to come. He loved the way that the darkness won over the light.

He loved the way they made him feel like he wasn't the only one being taken over by shadow.

He watched the other person on the opposite shore. They seemed not to notice him standing there. They were throwing stones into the water and making them skim. They were rather good. He had never been able to do that.

He smiled at his own thoughts. They were a change from the thoughts that usually clouded his mind. Maybe the shadow hadn't won yet.

He returned to the lake the next few nights and watched the other person. They always stood at the same bit of shore, and they never once looked up and met his eyes. He was sure they knew he was there though.

It soon became an obsession. He would lose concentration during the day, only thinking of the mysterious person that came to the lake. He was determined to talk to them, but he didn't want to disturb the strange atmosphere that came over the lake as they stood there every night. He felt like the air would shatter if he even spoke. It wasn't a bad atmosphere, but a loaded one.

He wondered if the other person felt the same way.

Even though his work was suffering, he continued his nightly trips to the lake. The other boy was a puzzle he was determined to solve, even if it killed him.

Recently the he had stopped skimming stones, and was just sitting looking out onto the water, but he never met the raven haired boys' eyes.

The sunsets were getting later, as summer overcame them. It was months before they worked up the courage to speak to each other. It finally happened, but it was not in the way either of them would have expected.

The corridors of the school were busy as was usual for a Monday morning at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The tension between the houses was at its greatest. It was near the end of the year, and both the house and Quiddich cup were soon to be handed out. There was one more match before the winners of the Quiddich cup were decided, and surprisingly Gryffindor were out of the running. The Slytherins gloated constantly, but Gryffindor was determined to win the house cup to make up for it, and make sure Ravenclaw won the last match of the year.

All that is, except Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy.

There had been a definite lack of hostility between the two seekers as of late and only they knew why. The nudges and raised eyebrows had been ignored, along with the questions from close friends and teachers.

All that changed when Harry kissed Draco.

That Monday morning would go down in history. It had started to normally as well. The chatter at breakfast had seemed normal, but then again, nobody had noticed the two boys share a glance across the Great Hall, and certainly nobody noticed the sparks that transferred between them.

It had shocked them, but the lust they both felt could not go unnoticed. It was overwhelming, and neither felt the urge to force down the new feelings, so they did what felt natural. They smiled at each other.

All those nights by the lake came to the front of their minds, and they each reached an understanding. Those visits would be very different from now on, that was for sure.

Not knowing how he got there, Harry was suddenly standing in front of the blonde god. The Hall had gone silent, expecting a fight to break out. They had apparently missed the brawls between the two.

What happened next shocked everyone.

Harry Potter took Draco Malfoy into his arms, and kissed him senseless.
