Four years later, Ginny and Draco were still together. They were happy and had been living together at his classy London apartment since she had completed her seventh year at Hogwarts. She was in school to become a Healer, and he had his own business. Her family had finally gotten used to her dating a Malfoy, and his family got over the fact that she was dating a Weasley. Everything was perfect.
One Sunday morning they had awoken early. Ginny was awake first, and then decided to wake up her boyfriend with an endless number of kisses all over his face. Although it was very early, he could never be upset if that's how he woke up.
A smile graced his lips, and she knew he was awake.
"You're going to be sorry, Weasley," he told her playfully.
She giggled at him, and kissed him once more on the lips. "What exactly will you do?" she asked.
He grinned, reached under the covers, and tickled her mercilessly. She wriggled and laughed hysterically as he played with her. He stopped, finally, and kissed her tenderly on the lips.
A moment later he pulled away from the kiss. "I love you, Gin," he whispered.
"I love you, too."
He sat up against the headboard, and she followed suit. He put his arm around her and kissed her hair. He took her hand, and in it he placed a small box.
She immediately shot up. She opened the box, and inside was a diamond ring. The diamond had been cut into the shape of a small butterfly. As she opened it, he reached over onto the night stand and picked something up that he slid into her fiery red hair. She knew immediately what it was.
"But I destroyed this!" she exclaimed, touching the butterfly in her hair. "I threw it the night that we got together. The emeralds were smashed!"
"Nothing a little Reparo couldn't fix," he said softly.
"And this ring," she exclaimed joyfully. "Oh, Draco, this isn't..." She trailed off.
He smiled at her. "Ginny Molly Weasley," he said. He took the ring off out of the box and slipped it onto her finger. "The last four years of my life have been spent with so little sleep. I have spent so many nights awake, just looking at you, because nothing I could dream could compete with what my own eyes saw every day. I have loved you completely since even before we started dating, and I will always. If you would be my wife, I would be the happiest man alive. I want you to be my forever. Marry me, Ginny."
She started to cry. "I'll marry you," she said, trying to hold back her tears. "Oh, Draco, of course I'll marry you!"
She looped her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. He put his arms around her and pulled her tightly toward his body. He held her and kissed her for what felt like hours, although he knew it hadn't been.
After the finally separated, she looked happily at her ring as her non-ring hand gingerly felt the emerald studded butterfly in her hair. "Oh Draco, why did you wait so long to give this to me?" she asked.
"Well if you said you didn't want to marry me I was planning to keep it."
She hit him playfully.
He said, "I want you to wear it when we get married."
"Of course," she agreed. "This ring is so beautiful!"
"I had it custom made for you."
She smiled again, and looped her arms around his neck for a moment.
"I have a surprise for you, too," she told him, reaching for the night stand on her side of the bed. "I have known for a few weeks, and I just didn't know when to tell you. But I think this is the perfect time."
She opened up the drawer on the table and pulled out a small picture. She handed it to her fiancé, and his mouth dropped. She waited nervously for him to say something.
After a few moments, Draco set the photo down. He ran his hands through his hair nervously.
"I - I'm going to be a dad?" he asked her, picking up the magical ultrasound photo again, almost in disbelief. "This here is a picture of our baby?"
She nodded as he embraced her tightly. He placed a hand on her belly and kissed her gently on the lips. They fell back to sleep shortly thereafter, discussing wedding plans and when they'd tell their families as they drifted off.
Nothing in the world could have felt better than that moment.
