Hard to Say I'm Sorry
Ginny walked down the hallway to the dormitory she shared with Lavender, Parvati, and Padma, glaring at everyone and everything that she passed. How could Draco do that? How could he take Pansy's side? He should know that Ginny would never do that to his robes... or anything else he owned. Ginny growled out a scream just before she entered the dormitory, hurling her bag past Lavender's head and onto the bed. Lavender looked up, very shocked. "What's with you?" she asked, her eyes still rather wide.
Ginny spun on her heal to give Lavender a death glare. "Nothing!" she spat, but she could swear she could feel hot steam coming out of her nose and ears.
Lavender's shocked face turned into one of realization. "Is it because of what Pansy did to Draco's robes?"
Ginny was just about to yell at Lavender again when she realized what had just been said, "What Pansy did?"
Lavender looked slightly confused. "Yeah... those scissors... they were Pansy's... she cut Draco's robes to get back at you. D-didn't you know that?"
Ginny's mouth dropped. She should have known! She had seen Pansy use those scissors before... why hadn't she realized it in the first place? How could she be so stupid? She had to tell Draco... but how was she going to get proof? Since Draco and Pansy were such "good friends," without proof, he would never believe Ginny.
Ginny got up and began pacing around the room. She needed to talk to Hermione... she needed her help... but it was after hours... she wasn't suppose to be out of bed. Ginny stopped pacing and sank back down on her bed. She'd talk to Hermione tomorrow when they went to Hogsmeade.
~*~*~
The next day, Ginny got out of bed, quickly showered, got dressed, and ran down to the Great Hall to meet Ron and Ron. "Hey, Gin!" Ron greeted when she saw Ginny. "Whoa... you look terrible... did you sleep at all last night?"
Ginny shook her head. "I have something I need to talk to you about when we get to Hogsmeade."
Ron almost cringed...he knew Ginny was his sister, but he didn't really want to spend his and Hermione's first date with Ginny. But he smiled and said, "All right."
~*~*~
When they got to Hogsmeade, Ron and Hermione were looking into windows, admiring some of the items that had been set up, when Ginny gasped. Ron and Hermione whirled around to see what had happened.
"What?" Ron asked. "What's wrong?"
"Look!" Ginny cried, pointing to a tiny building with a cup on the top of it. "It's a coffee shop! Let's go into the coffee shop!" Ron grinned and Ron groaned.
"No way!" he tried to argue. "There is no way in hell I'm going into some girly little coffee shop!"
Hermione and Ginny raised their eyebrows at Ron. "Yes, you are," Hermione said simply, and she and Ginny grabbed his arms and dragged him into the coffee shop.
After ordering a cappuccino for Ginny, hot chocolate for Hermione, and pumpkin juice for Ron (he was very disappointed that they didn't have Butterbeer), Ginny told Ron everything that had happened with Pansy and Draco's robes. She ended the conversation explaining that Draco wouldn't believe her and that she was very frustrated.
Hermione blinked and took a drink of her hot chocolate. "Wow..." she said. "That sucks..."
Ginny gave Hermione a sarcastic look. "No... actually, it's great. I've never felt better in my whole life! I feel like dancing!" She raised her eyebrow as Ron grunted at Ginny's sarcasm.
"So... what do you plan on doing about it?" Ron asked. She had apparently chosen to ignore Ginny's comment.
"Well, I'd like to prove to Draco that I didn't do it," Ginny sneered and then sighed.
~*~*~
"Draco," Pansy said from behind Ginny's table in the coffee shop. "I'm going to go into the bathroom a minute." Draco nodded and sighed as Pansy got up. He hated coffee shops...why he had agreed to go was a complete mystery. As he sat waiting for his coffee, he could hear Ginny's voice at the table on the other side of the fern behind Pansy's seat. He leaned in closer so he could hear what she was saying.
"Arg!" Ginny moaned. "This is so frustrating! And you know what Lavender just told me last night?" A pause. "Pansy actually cut Draco's robes!" Another pause. "I know, but there's no way I can tell Draco...he'd never believe me." Ginny sighed as Draco's eyes widened. He then noticed Pansy walking out of the girls' bathroom and frowned, standing up. Pansy's smiled turned into a slight frown as she saw Draco get up from the table and begin to leave.
"Wait!" she shouted, trying to stop him. "Where are you going?"
Draco scowled at her. "Away," he replied, simply.
"Away? Where?" Pansy asked, confused.
Draco turned around and nearly spit on Pansy. "Why would you lie like that, Pansy?" He paused and then continued when he noticed that Pansy had no idea what he was talking about. "My robes, Pansy! You cut my robes, not Ginny! You lied to me!" Pansy looked shocked and then she frowned.
"Draco...I...what do you want with that Mudblood lover anyway?" Draco shook his head at Pansy, turned, and walked away.

That night, Draco was determined to tell Ginny how sorry he was that he had accused her of cutting his robes and hope that she would forgive him. As Ginny walked in, Draco got up and fixed his shirt and hair before walking up to her.
"Ginny, I -" Draco started, but Ginny just walked right past him. Draco let out a disappointed sigh as he watched Ginny walk away. How would he get her to listen? Just then, he saw a few of the third years playing with some kind of microphone. He smiled and walked over to the boys. "Hey, could I borrow that a minute?" he asked. He didn't even want to think about what his dad would say if he knew that Draco was relying on Muggle inventions. Draco sighed before turning the microphone on. "Ginny!" he said into the top of the microphone. "Ginny, would you please listen to me?" Ginny began walking up the stairs to the girls' dorm when Draco became very desperate. He could only think of one thing.
"Everybody needs a little time away
I heard her say
From each other.
Even lovers need a holiday
Far away
From each other."
Draco smiled as Ginny stopped on the third step and glanced over at the corner of her eye. All he needed to do was keep singing and maybe she would listen to what he had to say.
"Hold me now
It's hard for me to say I'm sorry.
I just want you to stay."
Ginny turned around to face Draco's direction and raised her eyebrow.
"And after all we have been through
I will make it up to you
I promise you.
And after all that's been said and done
You're just the part of me I can't let go."
Ginny had become very interested in the song by now. She couldn't believe it... Draco Malfoy, apologizing!
"Couldn't stand to be kept ar>Not for a day
From your body.
Wouldn't want to be swept away
Far away
From the one that I love.
Hold me now
It's hard for me to say I'm sorry.
I just want you to know.
Hold me know
I really want to tell you I'm sorry.
I could never let you go."
Draco smiled as Ginny tipped her head to the side and smirked. He was finally getting her to listen.
"And after all we have been through
I will make it up to you
I promise you.
And after all that's been said and done
You're just the part of me I can't let go."
Ginny shook her head in amusement and giggled as Draco walked up to her.
"Ginny," he began, looking at her eyes. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have automatically blamed you for what happened to my robes. I should have known better." He smiled. "Forgive me?"
Ginny raised her eyebrow and smiled. "Let me think about it..." she said teasingly, but Draco obviously didn't find it funny. He sighed and lowered his head. Ginny laughed. "Joking! Yeah, I forgive you!" Draco looked back up at Ginny and smiled. Ginny laughed and hugged Draco, kissing his cheek as she moved away and headed back up the stairs.
"Wait!" Draco said, looking up at Ginny with confusion written all over his face. "Where are you going?"
Ginny smirked. "You think I'm going to stay here?" she asked, incredulously and then snorted. "No way! I'm going to bed!"
Draco shook his head and smiled. "Right then... goodnight."
"Goodnight," Ginny said, smiling back, and headed up the stairs to her bed.
