Harry's Plan

Harry Potter, the boy-who-lived, knew that his two best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, liked each other since their third year. Of course, during that time it was just a theory, but his little theory was proved to be true during their fourth year.

In their sixth year, Harry devised a plan to get them together. He thinks it's really getting old the way they, Ron and Hermione, don't talk with out the uneasiness in their voices or the tension between them when the three of them are together. But to carry out this plan, he needed help from a certain Gryffindor girl or two.

While walking with Ron and Hermione, who are still in major tension, to the common room, Harry knew who he would have to ask for help. He would have to get away from Ron and Hermione in a very normal manner so they wouldn't "smell" anything.

As the trio seated themselves in their usual spot in the corner, Harry suddenly jumped up and exclaimed, "Forgot my quill!"

He ran up the stairs and half-way up he looked back and saw Hermione pull three quills from her bag and waved it at him.

Harry ignored her and continued to sprint up the stairs and turned to the left, the girl's dormitory.

"Why is he going there?" Ron asked Hermione as Harry turned left.

"Don't know," Hermione answered as their eyes met. They quickly looked away and continued their work.

Harry pounded excitedly on the door and was greeted by a very annoyed looking Parvati and a giggling Lavender sitting on the bed.

"What do you want?" Parvati snapped. "We're having a talk." And with that Lavender sobered up and looked at Harry.

"I need your help," Harry said.

Lavender smiled and said, "Could I hear that again, please?"

"I need your help," Harry repeated through gritted teeth.

"Why do you need our help when you have bookworm Granger down there," Lavender said.

"And Ron the... the... uhh... sidekick," Parvati added.

"Ron's not my sidekick!" Harry said looking at Parvati with radiating eyes.

Parvati received it and then a long pause.

"Anyway," Harry said letting himself in.

Parvati raised his eyebrows as Harry dismissed her look.

"I need your help," Harry continued. "As I said,"

Lavender interrupted, "Bookworm Granger-,"

But she was cut off by Harry, who said, "It's about Ron and Hermione. As you probably know," Harry paused as he sat down and Lavender stood up, walking to Parvati, "They like each other. They are just too thick to say anything."

Lavender giggled and said, "Go on." Both, Lavender and Parvati listened attentively to him, leaning in.

"I have a plan to get them together. I just need one of you to pretend you like Ron," Harry explained.

Lavender and Parvati looked at each other and said, "We'll both do it!"

"No, I only need one of you," Harry said.

"No!" They argued. "We'll both do it!"

"Fine! Fine! Just as long as you trigger her," Harry agreed. "So we have a deal then," He said as he walked to the door. "I'm going to do the same with Ron."

"When are you going to make your move?" Parvati asked.

"Trust me, you'll know," Harry winked as he walked out the door. Then he heard a faint sound of giggling as he closed the door.

"Harry, where's your quill?" Ron asked as Harry seated himself.

"Uh... What quill?" Harry said, confused. Then, it came back to him, "Oh! That quill. Well, Seamus was doing this spell and he kinda blew them all up."

"All twenty-nine of them," Ron gasped.

"Yeah," Harry nodded his head.

"Even the ones in your secret compartment behind your bed?" Ron asked.

"Well, it's not secret anymore!" Harry cried.

Dean, who just entered the common room, was just in time to hear Ron's revelation.

"Oh!" Dean exclaimed as he ran to Seamus, who was coming down from the boy's dormitory. "I know where it is!"

"Thank you Ron," Harry said sarcastically.

"You're welcome Mione. I mean, Harry," Ron said quickly as his ears turned slightly pink.

Hermione glanced up at Ron but said nothing.

~*~ that night in the girl's dormitory ~*~

Lavender was guarding the door for any sight of Hermione as Parvati was comfortably sitting on her bed.

"She's here!" Lavender whispered excitedly as she closed the door and joined Parvati on the bed.

"Let the show begin," Parvati whispered to Lavender who giggled slightly.

Hermione opened the door and the sound of giggling welcomed her ears.

'Surprise, surprise,' she thought.

"Oh my gosh! He is like so gorgeous!" Parvati squealed. "He gives a whole new meaning to the word "drop-dead-gorgeous"."

"I know!" Lavender sighed. "And the thirty-four freckles on his nose!"

Parvati fell back on her bed, giggling.

"And his red hair is so sexy!" Lavender sighed dreamily.

"Yeah," Parvati replied.

"Are you two talking about Fred and George again?" Hermione sighed.

"No," Lavender answered, annoyed.

"They were so last month. Besides, they're not the only drop-dead-gorgeous Weasleys in this school you know," Parvati continued coolly.

"That old Weasley charm," Lavender giggled.

"Animal magnetism," Hermione said under her breath.

"Exactly," Lavender and Parvati said together pensively.

"Are you two talking about... about GINNY?!" Hermione asked astonished.

"Honey," Parvati stood up and walked to Hermione, "we are not on that side of the side of the rainbow." She finished as he patted Hermione on the back.

"Who then?" Hermione asked hoping they're not talking about the only Weasley that was left, Ron, her Ron.

"Ron, of course!" Lavender revealed as she twirled her hair around her finger while staring dreamily at Hermione's scrapbook, which happen to have Ron's picture on the front.

"You... you two like Ron?" Hermione stammered as she closed he scrap book.

"Yeah..." Lavender rolled her eyes.

Then, the little hope left in Hermione vanished.

"Oh," Hermione said disappointedly. "I never thought of him that way." Hermione lied.

"Yeah, right," Parvati and Lavender rolled their eyes behind Hermione's back.

"Excuse me?" Hermione asked, turning around.

"Nothing, just saying that Ron's really hott." Parvati answered.

Hermione rolled her eyes as she turned down her comforters and said, "I'm going to bed," just to be ignored as Lavender and Parvati continued to talk about Ron.

~*~ Friday night in the common room ~*~

"Where's Mione?" Ron asked as he and Harry sat by the fire.

"I don't know," Harry answered. "But Ron, I've got something to tell you." Harry said seriously and took a deep breath. "I have feeling for our best friend, Hermione, my Mione," Harry uttered.

"What?!" Ron bellowed jumping up and knocking all of his books off of a nearby table.

"I love Hermione," Harry said dreamily.

"You love her?" Ron shrieked. "You love her? You can't love her! Cause I love her! And I don't think she'll love you!"

"What?" Harry said pretending to be hurt and with puppy-dog eyes. "Of course she'll love me! Three-fourths of the Hogwarts population love me, why can't she? Besides, I'll do anything for her."

"You will, but I DID!" Ron said turning red in the face. "Who barfed out slugs just to defend her? ME! She also hugged me during our third year after we fought. You know why?? Because she MISSED ME! ME! In fourth year, Malfoy's curse hit Hermione that made her teeth grow to the collar, who ran to her when you were busy thinking of another way to curse Malfoy? ME! I was on the other side of the room! I ran to her cause I knew she needed help! I LOVE HER!!!!" Ron gasped for breath.

"Actually, I was about to help her but when I saw those teeth, I'd rather duel with Malfoy," Harry said with disgust on his face, of course he was only acting. This would really push Ron's buttons.

"How could you say that?!" Ron screeched. "Her beauty is more than skin deep. She's pretty no matter how big her teeth are! No matter how bushy her hair is! No matter how big her eyes bugs!"

Then, for the first time, Harry noticed that Ron was completely red and his blue eyes were blazing. Also for the first time, he noticed how much bigger Ron was.

'Okay Parvati and Lavender, now would be a good time to come' Harry though.

Then, two seconds later, the portrait hole creaked open, the whole common room turned to look who entered.

Hermione, Parvati, and Lavender entered. Hermione, situated in the middle of the two girls, listened to them talking about Ron's gorgeousness and constant giggling.

Then, getting sick of Parvati and Lavender's babblings and Harry's "love" for Hermione, out of the blue, Ron and Hermione blurted out at the same time, "I like you!"

Somehow, the already silent common room got even more silent as everyone waited for their reaction.

There was an awkward pause when Lavender and Parvati slapped hand and Harry gave a "thumbs-up" sign.

Then, Harry stood up and told Ron, "What I said wasn't true. It was all part of my "plan"; I devised it all by myself, of course with the help with those two gorgeous girls." Harry pointed at Lavender and Parvati.

Seamus, who was dating Lavender, walked up to her and grabbed her hand and held it up for all to see.

Harry nodded understandingly as he winks at Parvati who blushed furiously.

"That's a really bad way to pick up a girl," Ron said.

"At least I express my feelings unlike the two to you- who are as thick as bricks to say anything," Harry said eyeing Ron and Hermione.

"Well, everyone knows now thanks to a midget with glasses, so there's no need to deny it."

Then, Ron walked to Hermione. He took her hands when he reached her and said, "Hermione, I'm going to say this gently and sincerely, I liked you. And for sometime now, I've been thinking of it then I realized that I don't just like you, I love you."

Teary eyed, Hermione replied, "I love you too, Ron. Since the day I met you on the train. I didn't understand it yet, but as I became your friend I understood."

Harry then ushered them outside.

Little did they know that the whole Gryffindor House walked with them.

"I did a little something for your first date," Harry said. "Enjoy."

Ron and Hermione stood hand in hand by the lake.

Then, as Harry approached the castle, he noticed the whole Gryffindor house and just stood with them watching the two love-birds.

Lavender waved her wand and music started to fill the air.

Ron looked at Hermione and smiled and they started dancing to a muggle song Lavender heard when she and Seamus went out, "I'll Be".

The strands in your eyes that color them wonderful
Stop me and steal my breath
Emeralds from mountains thrust toward the sky
Never revealing their depth
Tell me that we belong together
Dress it

Then, one by one, couples approached the dance floor. The Gryffindors' were having their own dance. Harry danced with Parvati, Seamus dance with Lavender, and so on.

up with the trappings of love
I'll be captivated
I'll hang from your lips
Instead of the gallows of heartache that hang from above

Then, Harry enchanted the moon to act like a spot on Ron and Hermione as the other couples danced around them.

I'll be your crying shoulder
I'll be love suicide
I'll be better when I'm older
I'll be the greatest
event of your life

Rain falls angry on the tin roof
As we lie awake in my bed
You're my survival, you're my living proof
My love is alive not dead
Tell me that we belong together
Dress it up with the trappings of love
I'll be captivated I'll hang from your lips
Instead of the gallows of heartache, that hang from aboveƂ

I've been dropped out, burned up, fought my way back from the dead
Tuned in, turned on, remembered the things that you said

And with the last note of the song, Ron and Hermione ended their first dance with a kiss.
