Chapter 1 Visiting Hogwarts Part 1

It had been five years since Eve graduated from Hogwarts... A lot of things happened to her in these five years. In spite of her mom's endless complaints, which she had decided to ignore long ago, she went to the States and got a degree in photography.

Her mom always complaint about her desire to become a photographer, but it was still better than staying in the magical world all the time, as she said, "You are my daughter, and you should do whatever I want you to do." Sometimes, she really didn't understand whether her mother missed her as a possession, or she couldn't accept the fact that she was an adult. Frankly, Eve didn't really like her mom for various reasons she didn't want to recall. She was always grateful about her dad, who always supported her decisions, maybe because she was more like her dad than her mom....

Now, she was back in Hogwarts. No one knew she was here, except for Charlie and Dumbledore. Charlie had sent her word saying that The Triwizard Tournament was on this year, and he was responsible for one of the tasks. It would be a good opportunity for visiting and a little get-together, as he knew she hadn't visited Hogwarts since they graduated.

She went across the grounds heading for the entrance, when she saw Hagrid leaving his hut.

"HAGRID!"

Hagrid turned and saw Eve run towards him, he gave her a huge hug. "Eve! I didn't hear you are coming back to visit us! How many years has it been since we last met? How's your study going? I heard Minerva said you were in Year Three for another degree ..." He was now almost crying.

"Hagrid, we can talk about it later. You will see a lot of me this year. Charlie told me that the tournament is on, and I am going to be here to watch it til the end!" Eve said. "I better go and see Headmaster first, let him know I am here. And Hagrid, don't tell anyone I am back. I want to give everyone a surprise."

"There you go, girl. I promise."

She walked through the familiar corridors, towards Dumbledore's office. She met a number of students on the way, and they were curious about her too, because they had never seen her before. Soon she arrived at the door to Dumbledore's office.

"Lemon drop!" The door opened and she climbed the stairs to his office. She arrived at the door and was about to knock, she saw the one whom she wanted to see most, coming out from the office....

Severus Snape... her past potion professor.

Snape had stopped by Dumbledore's office, but the headmaster wasn't in. So he left the office, and planned to come again before dinner. When he opened the door and went out, he saw her.... There was no way she would be here.... It had to be an illusion....

"Good afternoon, Professor Snape," Eve said. She was a bit surprised by Snape's reaction... he seemed stunned.

"Miss Ho?"

"Yes, and please professor, I don't think I changed that much after graduation that you couldn't recognize me."

"I have a lot of students, " He sneered.

"But I don't think you will forget the only student you were 'assigned' to look after, right?" Eve said, looking at him mischievously.

"Yes, Miss Ho. I remembered clearly." They gave each other a knowing smile.

Why me? Snape had asked himself this for the last two weeks. Now he was in London Heathrow Airport waiting for the new student from Hong Kong, and WEARING Muggle clothes. Sigh. Why did Dumbledore insist that he should be responsible to look after the new first year student from Hong Kong? He didn't remember that Hogwarts had any overseas student before... He sighed.

Snape was working in his dungeons, when Dumbledore asked him to come to his office. Now, he was Dumbledore's office. Minerva McGonagall, shooting daggers at him, left the room.

"Severus, take a seat please." He sat opposite Dumbledore.

"Is there something wrong, Headmaster?" Snape asked.

"We have an overseas student this year from Hong Kong. I would like you to pick her up at the airport two weeks from now, look after her for two days before she comes on the train, and also help her to get the things she needs for the year."

"Me?"

"You have finished your preparation ages ago, Severus." Dumbledore's eyes twinkled.

"What am I supposed to do?"

"Well, her ancestors were from an old wizarding family, who left for Hong Kong in late nineteenth century. She is the only witch in the family for years, so her father wrote me and asked for advice on how to prepare her for the new school year. So I offered to have a professor to look after and help her after her arrival." Dumbledore said.

He handed Snape the key, "Here is the key to the safe at Gringott's for her. There is money inside, as her father had asked me to exchange some money for her before hand." He handed him a letter,"Here is the list of things she needs for the school year. Try to be a little bit nicer to her, Minerva was afraid you would make the girl nervous."

Nervous? He was never a babysitter anyway. "Headmaster, you still haven't told me her name and what she looks like."

"Oh, right." He was now running through his drawers to look for a photo. He took out a letter, and pulled a photo out. "Here, it is."

Dumbledore's voice interrupted Snape's musings. "Ah, Miss Ho. You arrived earlier than I had expected." They turned and saw Dumbledore standing by the stairs.

"Hello, headmaster."

Dumbledore gave her a big hug. "So, I see you met Severus then. Severus, is there something you want to see me about?"

"Yes, Albus."

"Well, we can talk about it after dinner then if you are not in a hurry." Snape nodded, when he was about to leave for his dungeons again, Dumbledore said to him, "Severus, for Merlin's sake, don't go back to work. It's Sunday. Come with me to the staff room for some tea." Snape raised his eyebrow. "I am sure you have a lot to talk to your favourite student." There was a twinkle in Dumbledore's eyes. Eve blushed at the comment.

"As you wish, Albus." Snape sighed.
