Not All Romances Are This Bad

Chapter 1

The Beginning of Misery

Hermione Granger was on her way to double potions in a hurry. Hermione had overslept that morning because she had been up all night finishing her two rolls of parchment on the ten effects of love potion and who had discovered it. She could have finished it yesterday but Ron had surprised her by planning a date for the two of them and she couldn't resist going.

Hermione still had a long way to arrive at Professor Snape's dungeon and he would dock at least 20 points off of Gryffindor. When she rounded a corner she bumped into someone and fell over.

"Damn," whispered Hermione.

"Watch it."

To Hermione's dismay the wizard turned out to be the one and only Draco Malfoy.

"Sorry about that. I wasn't looking where I was going. Want me to help you with your books?" asked Draco.

In all her years in Hogwarts, Hermione had never seen Draco act so nice or polite to anyone living soul, especially Hermione. She was so shocked that she fainted.

"Are you okay Hermione," asked Draco, as soon as such woke up.

"What did you just call me Malfoy," she asked.

"Err...I called you...Hermione?"

"What happened to calling me Mudblood or Granger?" Hermione asked.

"Well you might think this a cruel joke but I need to tell you this. I sort of fancy you," admitted Draco.

Saying this had taken Draco loads of pluck to say because if he told Hermione his real feelings for her, in time everybody in Hogwarts would know. Then he would be hated throughout Slytherin house and Gryffindor house and would probably be murdered by his death eater of a father on the count of his only loving a filthy Mudblood. Draco had realized he loved Hermione at the start of fourth year. It made his blood boil when he saw her dancing with Victor Krum at the Yule Ball. Ever since, he had wanted to fess up to Hermione and tell her he loved her.

"How long have you fancied me Draco," Hermione asked, in a strangled voice.

"Ever since fourth year," answered Draco and without thinking, he kissed her and this wasn't a normal first kiss that only lasted for a second, but a kiss that lasted for several steamy moments and to Hermione's own surprise, she found herself kissing him back. Draco put his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to his body and Hermione put her arms around his neck and intensified the kiss. When Hermione started feeling light-headed, she separated from Draco to catch her breath.

"Hermione, I know there is still a month left until the Christmas Hogsmeade trip, but I was hoping if you would come with me, on a date," asked Draco hopefully.

Hermione was considering Draco's offer because she too had fancied him but she had given up on him and began to date Ron Weasley during the summer and she loved him like crazy. But after kissing Draco, it just felt so bloody brilliant, she had forgotten about Ron completely.

"Sure Draco. I'll go with you to the Hogsmeade's trip," answered Hermione.

"Thanks Hermione," said Draco and once again they began kissing with a few breaks to breathe and to talk. They decided to meet everyday after to dinner up in the astronomy tower. They both thought it would be a great place to meet because only couples went up there at midnight to kiss but never went up there right after dinner and they could have as much privacy that they wanted. And so nobody expected anything was happening between them, the acted rude and disrespectful to each other whenever they crossed paths. To them it seemed like a perfect plan, but they would soon find out how wrong they both were.
