Caged
Iron bars surrounding
Stone floor stained
With the blood of ages
Staring hollowly through the window
A tiny space of light and hope
Extinguished when they come
And laugh mockingly
And taunt
And jeer
Kicking, pushing, hitting
Knife-words digging into my flesh
And letting free
The blue-black blood
Of my words
Flowing onto the floor
And pooling round dark boots
As they stare with contempt
And then leave
The heavy iron door thudding shut
On my mind-voice
Broken beyond help
And I am silenced
And I stare at my blood-ink
On the floor
And desperately scratch words
On my pale paper-flesh
My soul released

From my mind-cage

Dear Diary

I've been looking back over my entries, and I just realized something. She talks at one point, and yet Voldemort said she was mute. I don't get it. This whole thing is so confusing.

I went to the library today, and I found some stuff on unicorn riders. Apparently they're a myth. They were also called "Trackers" and were a race of immortals bound to unicorns. They were fearsome in battle, split into four legions. The "Silver Moon" legion, the "Crimson Sun" legion, the "Emerald Dawn" legion, and the "Dark Night" legion.

That was all I could find, the book was pretty vague.

I was really frustrated, and needed to put everything out on paper, and the above poem was the result.

I hope that I can find out more in Defence tomorrow. I'll confront Langley then.

The earth is crying
Gently weeping
Tears of turquoise rain
Falling from the heavens
Dropping on the ground
And covering her with grief
At the war and jealousy
At the senseless hate
And needless killing
Glass tears adorning the grass
And waving trees
By streams of crystal water
Her sadness blanketing the skies
With heavy blue-grey cloud
That blocks the sunlight
Rays of her joyous smile
That is missing today
And she grieves
For all that was lost
And thrown away carelessly
What could have been paradise
Now a ruin of pollution
And war
No more will she sing happily
Through the gentle voices
And nor will the green grass bend
Under a caressing wind
For today she weeps
The earth cries silently

Dear Diary

Langley knows more then he's letting on. After DADA I went to see him, and asked about the sketch he'd made the other day. His reply? "I was drawing something I found in a book." When pressed to say more, he left, claiming hunger.

I need to find out more. Why does Voldemort persist in his torture of her? He does not seem to get pleasure from her screams, he wants something, and she won't let him have it.

If it is something that could be used to win the war, I hope she either dies, taking the secret with her, or simply never tells.

Something's up with Malfoy too. He's really jumpy, and he keeps getting letters from this bronze-coloured Harris Hawk. I'll keep an eye on him. I should stop now. We have Charms in a few minutes, and Professor Flitwick has been in a bad mood lately. Bye!

She's not living
She's existing
In a world
Where the colours
Fade and Blend
Like dropping
Blood
Into water
And waiting
And the Darkness
Swirls and Bleeds
Into the
World
She now inhabits
A barren plain
An empty ocean
No one but the
Shadows
And they taunt
me
And
jeer at me
And hate me

Giving me glances

At a separate world

And at reality
Why does she

Stay here
In this dark Netherworld
Where light does not
Exist
Except in
Her dreams and then

It hovers out
Of reach

Dear Diary

Life sure is confusing sometimes. I dream about the not-girl constantly, the torture, and then, always after, the piece of memory. Hence, the poem.

Her world looks so nice, so peaceful. She has two friends, both in their late teens, both boys. Silith and Naira I believe, as I have gotten rather adept at reading lips.

Of course, half the time they don't speak English.

On a rather different note, I found a prophecy in the book that told about the trackers. I'll write it here.

When child of sickle moon is come

And bonded with darkest night

The Trackers son and Gryphons child

Shall join in alliance for might

When lost sapphire is found again

And the bonded one is true

Then the gate shall be opened, the chains removed

And the immortals will come through

And the sign will be formed

As the battle is joined

And only by peace

Will the dark rule be done

Weird, huh? I wonder what it means.

Well, Ron always says that food is good for the brain, so I'll just nip off to the kitchens. Bye!

Author notes: Hey, I have not yet gotten falmes, which pleases me but even still..... The next chapter will be long in coming, as I have a busy summer and no beta. (hint hint) Review and feed a starving author with a Windows XP!
