A little night fun:

Ron let out a low whistle. Ginny looked bewildered and glanced at Dean who was wearing the same expression on his face. Neville, Seamus and Hermione didn't look too surprised at the announcement. They obviously knew about that being possible. Harry looked at Isabella with an unreadable look on his face. Isabella looked back at him. Hermione got up, grabbed Ginny's hand and yanked her off the couch.

"We're gonna go to bed now," Hermione said with a look to Ron. Ron got the hint and got up with a fake yawn and headed to his dorm, after kissing Hermione goodnight. Dean kissed Ginny's cheek and followed Ron. Neville and Seamus followed him. Isabella and Harry were the only ones left in the common room. Isabella was staring into the fire and Harry was looking at her.

"She is definitely different," he thought, "but she's like my little sister now, and I can't let her down."

"Is, look at me, please," Harry said. Isabella turned her head but looked anywhere except Harry's eyes. He grabbed her chin and tilted her head until his gaze caught her eyes. Harry gasped softly. Isabella's eyes had gray specks in them this time. But they didn't disappear when she looked back into Harry's green eyes.

"You're afraid of me, aren't you?" she asked in a weak, desperate tone. Harry shook his head.

"No Is, I am not afraid of you. I am just surprised that a young girl like you can carry all these secrets all the time. I think you are amazing Isabella Black!"

Isabella looked at Harry with relief and smiled at him. The gray specks in her eyes immediately vanished. Harry smiled at her. Suddenly he grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him (he was still on the floor). She fell next to him with a thud.

"Ouch! Harry!"

Harry laughed at her. Isabella grabbed a cushion and hit him in the face with it. Now it was her turn to laugh at the astonished look on Harry's face.

"Ooh! You're asking for trouble missy!" Harry laughed as he started tickling her. She fell backwards, laughing and squirming, as Harry's hands never left her stomach. Suddenly, Harry felt his hands turn cold and Isabella orbed out. Almost instantly, she reappeared behind him and started tickling him. He jumped, surprised, and quickly grabbed Isabella's wrists. He wasn't a ticklish person. He kept a hold of her wrists with one strong hand and tickled her tummy with the other. She laughed hard and he laughed as well. After a few minutes of this game, Harry let go of Isabella and they both lied down side to side, panting.

"That was fun."

When they finally decided to go to bed, it was late at night. Harry waited till Isabella was in her dorm (she shared it with Ginny) before he headed to his.

The first day:

The next morning, at the breakfast table:

"Hi guys!" Isabella and Ginny said when they got to the Gryffindor table.

Ginny gave Dean a quick peck on the cheek and sat next to Hermione. Isabella took the empty seat next to Harry, across from Hermione, and kissed Harry's cheek. Then she started to eat her breakfast while joining a heated conversation on the groups that Dumbledore had founded. Suddenly Professor McGonagall stood up and called the Gryffindor prefects to her. Ron, Ginny, Hermione and a boy Ginny referred to as Colin went up to her and came back with stacks of papers in their hands. They started handing them out to everyone. Suddenly, Isabella felt the hairs at the back of her neck prickle. She was being watched. She looked around the Great Hall to find out who was watching her when her searching gaze locked with a cold gray stare. Draco Malfoy. Isabella held his stare. She was stubborn; she wasn't going to look away. He was stubborn as well; he wasn't going to look away either. They stared at each other for a long time, cold gray eye versus fiery black eye. Isabella started to shiver as Malfoy's eyes turned ice blue. Her shivering caught Harry's attention. He followed her gaze and saw Malfoy's eyes. He grabbed Isabella's hand to defrost it. When he did, Isabella flicked her wrist and Malfoy's cup rose slowly in the air, unnoticed by the Slytherin prince, and positioned itself above his silver blond hair. Isabella snapped her fingers and the cup tilted forward and spilt pumpkin juice over Malfoy's head. He jumped and shook his head, furious. Isabella felt herself getting warmer and warmer. But, unfortunately for her, she was soaking wet. The Gryffindor table roared with laughter at the sight of Malfoy shaking his head vigorously. He glared at Isabella who was wearing a smirk not unlike the one he wore at his best times. He couldn't help but notice how beautiful she looked. Droplets of water covered her face, clinging to her eyelashes and her lips. He shook it off quickly and cast a spell at his hair. It was clean now, but it was no longer slicked back with gel, and it was wet. It hung around his face, and a few wet strands fell into his gray eyes. Isabella surprised herself in thinking he looked like a beautiful angel. "Yeah, right! Hell's angel you mean!" Isabella thought. She shook it off quickly and accepted the towel Ginny had brought her. She dried her face and took her timetable from Ginny.

"McGonagall says that the classes printed in red are your advanced classes, the ones you take with the sixth years," Ginny explained.

Isabella nodded and thanked her. She looked at the staff table. The Headmaster was in a deep chat with professor Lupin. When Dumbledore got up, the whole Great Hall listened.

"Isabella Eleanor Black, Harry James Potter, Hannah Joan Abbott, Padma Elizabeth Patil, Draco Adrian Malfoy, please come here, I need to talk to you." They all headed to the Headmaster's seat. Dumbledore smiled at them. "I was hoping we could talk about your powers before classes start. Please, follow me to my office."

And with that, Dumbledore stood up and left the Great Hall. Isabella, Harry, Hannah, Padma and Draco followed him. When he got to the two gargoyles, he asked if anyone could guess the password.

"Lemon Drops," Harry offered.

"Cockroach Clusters!" Hannah said.

"Sugar Quills?" Padma asked.

"Butterbeer" was Draco's guess. Mind you he wasn't happy, participating at this game, but a glance from the Headmaster made him.

"Popsicle!" Isabella said, laughing. At her enormous astonishment, the gargoyles stepped aside, revealing a spiral staircase. The Headmaster, Hannah and Padma went up first. Harry was about to follow when he saw Isabella still gawking at the gargoyles. Draco sneered.

"Looks like Black ditched Potter for a gargoyle. She has a fine taste, that little maggot," he said hatefully.

His voice brought Isabella back to reality and she threw Malfoy her deadliest glare. Harry rolled his eyes in disgust (at Malfoy, not Isabella lol) and they climbed up the stairs. In the Headmaster's office, there were chairs awaiting them. When they sat down, Isabella was between Malfoy's chair and Harry's chair.

"I wanted to tell you what your powers were earlier this morning, but I saw that two of you were using them." He looked at Isabella and Draco. Isabella blushed a little but Draco looked coolly at Dumbledore. "Anyways, Hannah, you can communicate with any living thing: Plants, animals, trolls, phoenixes and other creatures. We will help you develop your gift, Hannah. You are not a freak, understood?"

Hannah nodded. At that very moment, a beautiful Phoenix flew in from the window and landed on Hannah's shoulder.

"See? Fawkes knows you'll be able to talk to him."

Hannah stroked the Phoenix's head. It flew away and landed on Harry's lap.

"Hello Fawkes. You're looking beautiful today," Harry whispered as he stroked the Phoenix's feathers.

It let out a single, heart-warming note before taking off and landing on the Headmaster's desk.

"Padma, you have the ability to read people's minds and eventually control them slightly. But I don't want you to use your power unless it's not dangerous. Understood?"

Padma smiled and said "Yes Professor".

Dumbledore looked at Draco.

"You know your Powers. You can control, even create, fire and ice. Till now you can only use your ice power when you're angry, and you don't have your fire power yet. You will in time Draco, I can promise that."

Draco nodded.

"Ah, Harry. I suppose Miss Black has told you what your power was. You can control the weather. I trust you will not use you Power to harm anyone, Harry."

Harry smiled.

"Of course not Professor," he said.

"Last but not least, Miss Black. You know only the powers you have now, but I can assure you, there will be more of them. Now you have time freezing, telekinetic abilities, molecular acceleration-otherwise known as blowing up stuff- molecular transportation-otherwise known as orbing- and astral projection. I know that you will also have visions from the future, the past and the Herford dimension. That is all I can tell you. If you feel a new Power growing, please let me know so we can take the necessary measures."

Isabella nodded with a small smile. Malfoy looked like he hated her even more, Hannah looked at her in awe and Padma smiled at her in a very friendly way.

"You are dismissed. Have a nice day. Don't worry if you are late for class, I have warned your teachers."

Once they were out of the Headmaster's office, they smiled at each other (except for Draco, of course) and said "Hi" simultaneously.

"I don't know about you flobberworms, but I'm going to head to class," Draco drawled. He walked away as only a Malfoy can, and the others glared at him.

"As much as I hate to admit it, that jerk is right. We should get going," Hannah said.

The others nodded and each one went their separate ways after Harry told Isabella how to get to History of Magic. When she got there, she steadied her breathing and entered the class. The teacher looked up at her and she noticed he was a tad bit pale.

"Please enter, Miss Blake. The Headmaster has told me you would be late because he was holding you back," the professor wheezed. He looked back at his notes.

"Er...my name is Black, professor," Isabella corrected hesitantly.

"Yes, yes, of course Miss Green."

"Just sit down Isabella!" a voice hissed.

Isabella looked around and saw a flash of red hair. She smiled and took the seat Ginny had saved her. Ginny grinned at her and scribbled on a piece of parchment. When the professor's monotonous voice started again, she passed the parchment to Isabella.

Don't worry about him; he never gets anyone's name right.

Isabella grinned and wrote.

Why is he so pale? He looks like a ghost!

It was Ginny's turn to grin while she wrote.

He IS a ghost! The story says that he was asleep in the staff common room when he died and when he got up to teach, he left his body in the armchair where he was sitting and since then he teaches as a ghost! He can make the bloodiest war sound boring! He talks about the goblin wars as if they were as fun as watching a tree grow! Mind you, watching the Womping Willow grow must be interesting.

Isabella laughed silently at the last comment. She listened to professor Binns for a while and felt her eyelids start to drop. She shook her head and looked around the class. She spotted the blond haired boy she had seen earlier sitting next to Ginny. He was looking at her. When he caught her gaze he smiled and winked. Isabella smiled back and turned to her parchment.

Hey Gin, who's the cute guy sitting next to you? The blond one.

Ginny looked at the boy, then back at Isabella. Him? she mouthed silently. Isabella nodded.

That's Colin Creevey. He's really nice and he takes AMAZING photographs! I'll introduce you two later.

Isabella nodded at Ginny and tried her best to take notes. Suddenly her day seemed even better than before. When the bell rang, Isabella shoved the parchment into her school bag and exited the class. Professor Binns didn't give them homework. She walked next to Ginny to the greenhouses. When they got at the castle doors, Colin caught up with them. He was no longer the "Obsessed-with-Harry-Potter-geeky-looking" Colin, but had turned into "Takes-amazing-photographs-looks-great" Colin.

"Hi Gin, hey Gin's friend, Miss Purple, I suppose?" Colin said with a charming smile.

"Nope, Miss Black is my name, although people tend to call me Isabella," Isabella said, smiling back.

"Pleasure to meet you Isabella. I'm Colin Creevey, Ginny's friend. So, you transferred from which school?"

"Herford."

"Wow! Herford? You are so lucky! Herford is like the coolest school in Renaissance time!" Colin said.

"You know Herford?" Isabella was stunned at the fact that he knew about her school.

"Yeah, my cousin learns there. His name is Brendan Carter."

"Brendan is your cousin? Brendan was one of my friends there! He was the biggest troublemaker in school! He always asked me for help in his schemes!" Isabella said excitedly.
"Guys, I hate to break it to you, but we got to the greenhouses," Ginny said.

They shut up and followed their fellow students into the greenhouses. Herbology went fine, but they got two feet of parchment on the use of the Zaharat plant. Then, they headed to Hagrid's hut for Care Of Magical Creatures.

"Welcome back students! Welcome Isabella. Today we will be studying Crups. Now, I want you to work in groups of three. Pick a Crup, and you will be in charge of it for the rest of term. Give him a name and feed him. The food is over there."

Ginny turned to Isabella and Colin with a smile. Crups were undistinguishable from Jack-Russell's, except for their forked tails. They had fun feeding it and named it Lexie, since it was a female. At the end of the class, all the students headed to the castle for lunch except Isabella.

"Go ahead guys, I'll catch up with you later," she said.

Ginny and Colin gave her quizzical looks, but asked no questions. Isabella turned to Hagrid.

"Hagrid, I suppose the Headmaster told you about my special er...condition."

Hagrid smiled and nodded.

"When you feel like it, you can come talk to me about anything. I know how it feels to be different," he said.

Isabella grinned. She bid him goodbye and went to the castle. She sat between Ginny and Seamus.

"So Is, how is your day going so far?" Hermione asked.

"Pretty good, save for the few comments the Slytherins made about dad. Hagrid's class was awesome!" Isabella answered, between bites. "What groups did Dumbledore sort you into?"

"I got practical magic group, you know, charms and transfiguration," Hermione said proudly.

"I got tactics and plans group, because I'm good at chess and stuff like that," Ron said, mouth full of apple pie.

"I'm in Herbology group with Neville and Seamus," Ginny said.

"I'm with Ron," said Dean.

He didn't sound too pleased about that. In fact, he looked slightly frightened. Ginny patted his back reassuringly. Harry, Isabella, Hermione, Seamus and Neville burst out laughing.

"Hey, my next class is with you! That is so cool! We have...Double Potions with the Slytherins!? No way!" Isabella said. "Great! Two hours with Mr. Draco Dumbass Malfoy. Just great."

"Speaking of which, we should get to class. Snape will kill us if we're late."

"Yeah, bye Colin, bye Gin."

They waved goodbye to their friends and headed to the dungeons. The hallways were empty, since the students were either having lunch or already in class.

"How come there are no Slytherins here? I thought class was going to begin," Isabella asked when the got to the Potion Dungeon doors.

"They know secrets passages and shortcuts here in the dungeons so they can take their time," Harry answered.

"This place creeps me out! No wonder the Slytherins are so stupid! The atmosphere here must have affected their brains!" Isabella said.

"They have no brains," Dean replied.

They all laughed, but their laughter died when the saw Malfoy and the rest of the sixth years Slytherins step out from behind a portrait of a witch who was holding a snake in her arms.

"Have you lost your way Black? The children day care is in Hogsmeade!" A pug-faced girl snickered.

The Slytherins laughed.

"Actually Pansy, I think Black would do better in a center for murdering delinquents," Malfoy said.

The Slytherins laughed even harder.

"I cannot disagree with you Mr. Malfoy," a cold voice said out of the shadows.

Professor Snape appeared out of a corner. He looked at Isabella with disgust and opened the doors to the classroom. Isabella glared at Malfoy and entered the class between Harry and Hermione. They sat next to each other silently.

"Ah, Miss Black, I am surprised you have friends already. Then again, it is common knowledge that Potter and his sidekicks are always desperate to find a new member to add to Potter's fan club," Snape said evilly.

Isabella clenched her fists but her face didn't show her anger. Harry smiled inwardly. "She's careful, she doesn't want Gryffindor to lose points," he thought.

"Now," Snape continued, looking disappointed that Isabella hadn't replied, "I must tell you that this year will be difficult. We will be studying the Shetaparina potion." He paused as many of the students gasped. "The Shetaparina potion will make its drinker obey to every order the potion maker gives him. But that will be for the second term. This term, we will be studying love potions. I know they are illegal in Hogwarts but the Headmaster wants to know if you are capable of making them. Now, we will start with the One-Kiss potion. I will pick the name of a Gryffindor from this hat, and a that of a Slytherin from the other."

Students started whispering. The Gryffindors looked at each other with apprehension. Nobody wanted to kiss a Slytherin!

"Quiet! Each group will be boy-girl. Now, where was I? Oh yes, the names." Snape cleared his throat and plunged his hand in the first hat. "Parvati Patil", he said sourly, plunging his hand in the second hat. "Vincent Crabbe."

Parvati looked like she could cry at any moment.

"Ronald Weasley, you will be partners with Pansy Parkinson."

Ron turned green.

"Seamus Finnigan with Millicent Bulstrode."

Seamus looked like he was going to be sick.

'Lavender Brown and Blaise Zabini."

Lavender wasn't as disgusted as the others and for good reason. When Isabella looked at the boy, who was now heading towards Lavender, she gasped. He had black hair that fell to his shoulders and dazzling blue eyes.

"Hermione Granger, you will be working with Gregory Goyle."

Hermione looked positively afraid.

"Harry Potter, you shall be partners with Pacifica Adams."

Isabella swore she heard Harry say, "Whoa!" when he looked at the girl who was his partner. Her brown hair fell all the way to her waist and she had big dark brown eyes.

"Isabella Black..."

Isabella held her breath as Snape put his hand in the second hat and pulled out a piece of parchment.

"Draco Malfoy."

The words took a surprisingly long amount of time to sink in Isabella and Draco's minds.

"Dean Thomas, Trish Wilson. Neville Longbottom, Emma Lee Smith."

Malfoy recovered his spirits and sat next to Isabella, staring at the blackboard. Isabella did the same. Snape wrote how to make the potion on the blackboard and they all copied it silently.

"The One-Kiss potion works as so. One person, preferably a girl, puts a hair from her head into the potion. The other person drinks it and at a moment of particular closeness during the day, the potion will activate and the kiss will happen. I have chosen the Halloween masquerade ball as the day you will drink your potions. Start making it."

Isabella sighed and turned to Malfoy. She was surprised to see that he was looking at her.

"Listen Malfoy, if we are to work together you are going to have to be a little nicer to me, okay?" she said with a fake smile.

Malfoy rolled his eyes. Isabella's smile disappeared.

"Fine then, let's have it your way, Malfoy. Go get the ingredients."

"Funny one, Black. Go get them yourself."

"You get them!"

"I'm not moving."

"Is there a problem here?" Professor Snape's voice drawled.

"Yes sir, Black won't go get the ingredients for our potion," Malfoy said.

"Black, I hope you don't expect Mr. Malfoy to do all the work. Go get the ingredients."

Isabella cursed under her breath and went to get the ingredients. They started to make the potion (punctuated with a lot of insults) and when class ended, everyone sighed with relief.

"I want two feet of parchment on the One-Kiss potion." Snape called after the students.

After dinner, Isabella sat with Colin and Ginny to do the Herbology assignment, then started her Potions essay with Hermione, and, to everyone's surprise, Ron and Harry.

"Are you guys feeling okay?" Hermione asked with mock concern. Harry and Ron (and most students) were known to push their homework to the last minute. All they did was stick their tongues out to Hermione. It was very childish, but it was the best they could think about at that moment.
