Stop,
Slow down,
Take a deep breath,
Ooh yeah,
Stop,
Slow down,
Take a deep breath,
Ooh no,
Hermione sat on the edge of the astronomy tower, her feet pulled up to her chest. Staring out over the sparkling stars. It was the end of her 7th year. Tomorrow was graduation. She scoffed to herself silently. 'Look at yourself Hermione, you should be downstairs parting with the others. Not up here thinking about him. He's evil, wrong you can't fall for him. Not like this Hermione.'
I look at you and I know your trouble,
I should run just as fast as I can,
One smile, game over,
Here in front of you I stand,
"Thought you'd be here."
Hermione turned to find Draco Malfoy leaning on the wall beside the stairs. Her heart gave a tiny lurch.
"Draco? What are you doing here, shouldn't you be partying?"
Draco smiled softly, but his eyes held a sparkling sadness, he crossed over to Hermione and pulled himself onto the ledge beside her.
"I came to warn you."
I know your only gonna burst my bubble,
Trouble is my heart don't care,
It's ignoring all the danger signs,
Stop,
Slow down,
Take a deep breath,
"Warn me of what?" Hermione's lip quivered, she already knew the answer.
"He's coming back Hermione, this year. Those who aren't on his side will die." Draco's eyes caught hers. "I can't help it Hermione. I wish there was another way. A way I could stop it, but I can't."
"I know Draco." Tears slipped down her cheek. "I know."
"Please Hermione, don't let him kill you." Draco wiped her tears softly with the back of his hand. "You know I would rather kill myself than see him harm you. All these years we've kept us a secret, but now you need to choose. Harry and Ron chose and you need to now."
I'm not willing to be so fearless,
Careless,
Just yet,
Once bitten,
Twice shy,
Is what you get,
Hermione felt her body tremble with sadness
"You can't save them now, Hermione." Draco's voice quavered. "They chose to stay, and they will die when he comes. You, Hermione, will die with them. Or you will live with me, in a throne of power."
Draco's hair glimmered in the moonlight as he moved closer to Hermione.
"Give me your arm Hermione."
I'm not willing to be so open,
Transparent,
No not yet,
But here in front of you,
There's nothing I can do.
Hermione held her arm out to Draco, who took it gingerly in his hand. She stared into his eyes, which had softened from a piercing blue to a soft gaze at her touch. He loved her, and she loved him. She knew this as a fact, but love called for sacrifices. Both knew there was no other way for this to go about. It was the only thing they could do to stay together.
Hermione winced at a searing pain as Draco pressed his thumb against her forearm. Draco slowly removed the pressure and released her arm. She held it in the cold moonlight.
A coal-black skull was imprinted on her arm, a snake twisting from its mouth. The small mark burned with a fire she had only dreamed about.
My heart's got a mind of it's own,
Won't listen to a word I say,
Doesn't it know that I get hurt too,
When it acts this way,
Draco placed his arm around Hermione and pulled her to him.
"It's the right thing Hermione," He stroked a lock of hair from her face.
"I know it is Draco, I know."
"I love you Hermione"
Cos' when it breaks I pray,
I don't know how much more of this I can take,
Doesn't it know that I get hurt too,
When it acts this way,
My hearts got a mind of it's own.
"I love you Draco,"
The two's lips met in a perfect lock. They were so young, but one minute had just changed their lives forever. In one minute the plan for the rest of their lives had been written for them. Written in Voldemort's own blood.
